Guten Morgen, y'all! Guess what the theme is for today's card?
Mixing a bit of old and new for today's card, Chase Your Dreams (the castle and greeting) has been retired for years and I just got Painted Stripes last week as part of my latest SU! order. I love the Paper Players challenge for this week:
I could very easily make different travel cards every day for a week (okay probably more like a month or more) and now I'm wondering why I *didn't* do that this week, it would have been fun. I did make another card for this challenge, so stay tuned for that.
In the meantime, here is this week's CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch:
And last up, here's the Inspire. Create. color challenge:
I wasn't intentionally following the challenge graphic, but I ended up using Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, and Merry Merlot for three shades of the same color. I didn't worry about keeping my watercoloring neat because the style of the line art is a bit loosey-goosey. Neuschwanstein was the first castle I ever visited outside of a Disney theme park and I have since been there several times. I'll be sending this card to my friend Krissy, whom I met while we were both living in Germany : ) I miss living in Europe and getting to travel to all these cool places, but at least I can make travel-related cards and scrapbook pages. And we will travel in the US too, I am particularly keen to visit the redwood forest and take Ryan to the Grand Canyon.
Ryan has a cartooning class after school today which means I get an extra hour and a half of kid-free crafting time today, woohoo! Not that I can't craft when he's home, but it's easier to concentrate when he's at school. So I'm going to finish my cuppa, take Daph for a walk, and then go finish the scrapbook layout I started yesterday. Cheers! Or should I say, auf wiedersehen!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Chase Your Dreams, Painted Stripes
Ink: Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Merry Merlot. Versamark
Paper: Petal Pink, Merry Merlot, Thick Basic White, Calypso Coral DSP
Accessories: Thoughtful Expressions dies, Stylish Shapes dies, clear EP, Faceted Gems
LOVE. I have this and have really only used it in my Disney book, HA. I have been there too (once), but that event was scrapped yeears before this set came out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool castle stamp, Christy! This layout really shows it off. I love the shades of orange you have used. Thank you for playing with The Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to visit that castle in Germany, but haven't made it there yet. Great card for your friend over there and I think the color combination worked so well for this image. Thanks for joinng in at the Paper Players this week, Christy! Now I have to take a look for your 2nd card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a super mix of old and new. The castle is such an evocative image of distant places - great choice. Thanks for joining in with my travel theme at The Paper Players. Looking forward to the promised extra card. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat castle is so typically German Christy - I love it! I haven't visited this castle, although my son went on a school trip and loved it. I lived in Germany for a year as a student and whilst I travelled lots, I still feel like it wasn't enough! I wish I'd known you when you lived in Europe - I'm sure we could have arranged a meet up! As you say, lots to see in the USA too; I've been lucky enough to visit the Grand Canyon twice, once for sunrise - spectacular! Thanks for playing with us over at The Paper Players - I thought you might have entered a scrapbook page this week!
ReplyDeleteSO fun! What a great idea for the travel theme! Love to see those stripes, I just ordered my set too! Thanks for playing with us this week at the Players! Very cute card!
ReplyDeleteGreat card--love the colors you've chosen! And, your narrative is so funny and entertaining! Thanks for sharing at Inspire.Create!
