Fabby Dress

You know, I really think that Stampin' Up! is on to something with having the not-really-mini catalogs last longer.  At first when I got the spring occasions catalog, I saw some things I liked, but not a whole lot that I really, *really* needed.  Fast forward a couple months and I'm well on my way to acquiring at least half the catalog (nobody tell my husband!).  I really wasn't going to get the All Dressed Up stamp set and Framelits until I saw all the dress cards that Lyssa Zwolanek was making with it (mostly here, but also here and here...and here) and then, lemming that I am, suddenly I found myself in possession of all the dressy stuff.  Oops.

Ok, really, I'm not sad about that.  'Cause cuteness!

Perhaps I should have switched around the colors and done a Raspberry Ripple dress with a Wisteria Wonder card base...I think the Raspberry would pop better against the Basic Gray patterned paper but whatever, I still had fun making this.  It's been a while since I dusted off my Top Note die, and this is the maiden voyage not just for the All Dressed Up Framelits but also the Notable Alphabet.  I had originally planned to cut the dress out of some patterned paper but then I found a scrap of Wisteria Wonder that was already embossed, so I decided to roll with that.

The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:

I thought about adding some white brads to the lower right corner like in the sketch but I thought maybe it was okay without them?  The color combo is from Still Addinktive:

Obviously I only did the color challenge part of that one :)  Though I suppose maybe I could have still used the dress die cut on that sketch, but I really wanted to get that FMS one done by the challenge deadline.

Thanks for stopping by today!
