Hey, kids! It's been one wild and ca-razy day here but I finally got a card made to share, and I really like it!
I've been wanting to pair the lighthouse stamp with that sentiment (and the corresponding "...and brightening the rest" on the inside) for a while now and today I finally found the perfect combination of challenges for it. First up is this week's Freshly Made Sketch:
And then the Paper Players' color challenge:
With those two challenges, it didn't take me long to put my card together. And I think it turned out quite nicely :)
Well, I have a haircut appointment in 20 minutes so I'd better skedaddle. Cheers, y'all!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: From Land to Sea, Me = Grateful
Ink: Versamark, Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Dapper Denim DSP
Accessories: Layering Circles Framelits, Dimensionals, Clear EP
p.s. Do you recognize the song from my post title? I think it's from Pete's Dragon (the original one). I have several CDs of Disney songs from various movies so I'm not sure, but that one is a really sweet song and that's what this lighthouse made me think of.
This is an awesome card, Christy. You're right the sentiment goes perfectly with the lighthouse. Thanks for playing with LeAnne's color challenge this week at the Paper Players.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE this sentiment....I kept missing it in the catalog and kept searching and searching until I FINALLY found it! It's on my wish list. It is perfect with your lighthouse image and the sketch! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteHey, they are bringing a live-action movie of Pete's Dragon to the big screen. Looks good. We want to see that movie about the giant, and I can't for the life of me remember what it's called -- it is "BFG" or something. Looks REALLY cute. There are a lot of movies coming out that look good that were children's movies like the live-action "Beauty and the Beast". I am going to be on the lookout for these.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, very nice card. LOVE the sentiment and the colors, of course. Lighthouses have always fascinated me. When I worked at Uniden, the woman over the marine division had a framed piece in her office that was of a lighthouse that looked to be right IN the water on rocks and huge waves were crashing into the sides of it. Wow, talk about dramatic!!! Awesome. So I enjoyed being on the top of the small one on Okinawa -- it was a favorite place of mine anyway with the views. Wasn't that coastline awesome?!!! Do you think you will ever get back over there? Such a neat place.
LOVE YOU!!! Have a wonderful Friday.
This is so pretty! Love the lighthouse! Glad you joined us at the Paper Players!
