Christmas Train

I tried pretty hard, but there was one Christmas stamp set in the holiday catalog that I just couldn't resist, and it arrived at my house on Monday afternoon.

I don't know why, I just love that train.  There's also a cute snowman, jingle bell, and a North Pole sign with three sentiments.  As simple as the layout is on this card, I wouldn't want to mass produce it because that train took me for.ev.er. to color in!  But I will definitely put in the work on it for a scrapbook layout sometime in the future.

The inside of my card, the jingle bell isn't *quite* dark enough to make out easily but I didn't want it interfering with the sentiment either.

I used the Fab Friday color challenge:

I used some other colors on the main image, but I kept those three as the main colors for the card.  And I used today's Freshly Made Sketch:

Great sketch, lots of scope for imagination as Anne Shirley would say.

Well, if we're going to have spaghetti for dinner tonight I'd better go hit up the grocery store.  Cheers, peeps!

  1. I saw your card, and just had to come take a closer look - it is gorgeous. I have a friend who worked for the railroad for years so i am always making a train card for him and this year he turned 70 so I made a train wreath for him. I am going to have to look into this stamp too because it is just beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration.
