Georgia Peach

Howdy, folks!  Today's card marks the maiden voyage for one of my new stamp sets, Sweet as a Peach:

One of my friends (and frequent opponent on Words with Friends) lives in Georgia so I'll have to send this card to her.  Confession:  I don't actually like peaches.  I don't even like peach tea (and you know I love all kinds of tea).  But I just could not resist the Sweet as a Peach stamp set...partially because of the coordinating paper which is gorgeous and will be making appearances on my scrapbook pages for sure.

Anyway, this particular card was inspired by the color combination from As You See It:

You know I love me some autumnal colors!  But I thought they would be just perfect for a peachy card, too.  I inked up the large peach stamp with Crushed Curry, then tapped a sponge on top to get rid of a bit of excess ink (seems like I have to do this pretty frequently with photopolymer stamp sets), and then I used a sponge dauber to add some Calypso Coral ink before I stamped it.  That gave me a two-toned effect on the peach, and then I lightly sponged some Crushed Curry ink so my peach has a bit of a warm haze around it.

And that's all she wrote today.  Hope your day is peachy keen, jellybeans!

  2. Sweet as... well, ... a peach! Great choice of paper. The plain green band cuts the sweetness of the coral and stops them from dominating. Thanks for joining us at As You See It Challenge.

  3. I love seeing this peach set in these more autumnal colours - it works so well and the green banner piece does a great job of cutting through the yellows/orange/brown tones. Thanks for sharing with us over at As You See It this week!

  5. You're right, these colours are perfect for Sweet As A Peach! I love the look of peaches, but prefer the taste of nectarines! Anyway, you managed the combination perfectly, Christy! Thanks for joining our colour challenge at As You See It Challenges.

  6. I live in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada, so we are spoiled with the most amazing fruits! Peaches are one of my favourites. I just bought a flat of the big juicy fuzzy fruit and just might have to make a pie. *slurp* So good!
Your card is adorable and the peach looks very tasty. Thanks for playing along at the As You See It Challenge Blog!
