Mornin' y'all! Despite not feeling too great yesterday, I did spend a couple of hours in my craft room and it was awesome. I haven't gotten to stamp hardly at all this month and I really do miss it! Seems like forever since I'd gone looking through all my current DSP too so it was like getting to see everything for the first time. In fact, I ended up using four patterns from one pack of DSP for today's card, and just one stamp.
AHHHHHHH that corgi is the CUTEST thing EVER, is he not?! He's cut out of one of the Sweet Stockings patterns (the back side of the green stripes). And he's a triple challenge corgi, too!
First up is the Paper Players sketch:
I used the tag shape from the coordinating Stockings dies for my "any shape" shape in the middle of the sketch. The tag die is actually taller than what I used on my card; I cut the whole die shape and then moved the die up so I could cut the tag a bit shorter (after all, corgis are not tall doggos).
Next up is the Festive Friday challenge:
My cute little corgi is wearing a jumper, and I used red and green. I wasn't sure if the Pool Party pattern on the left counted as plaid, and I have a die cut of a ribbon on the top of my tag element but not actual ribbon, so maybe I get half credit for those two?
This challenge happened to dovetail nicely with the As You See It challenge:
I can't wait to get dogs again. Life just isn't the same without my fur babies.
Also, congratulations to Heather on making the AYSI design team! Heather is my teammate on the SUO Challenges design team and she always makes such beautiful cards :)
Ahh, it feels good to get back in my craft room a bit. Hopefully I'll be able to do some more work in there on my next day off this week!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Sweet Little Stockings
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Cinnamon Cider, Evening Evergreen, Sweet Stockings DSP
Accessories: Stocking dies, Dimensionals, White EP
Christy, this is so FUN! I love your mix of patterns and your little Santa Paws is precious! So happy you joined us at The Paper Player this week!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I never thought of a jumper/sweater for a dog, but definitely counts, especially since it matches the paper so well! Thanks for playing along at Festive Friday.
ReplyDeleteSo adorable, Christy - I love this little corgi! Just fussy cut him yesterday myself, lol. So cool to turn that banner point end up, too - I'm totally trying that! Thanks so much for playing at AYSI!
ReplyDeleteChristie I love your sweet festive corgi and think you did a cracking job with those paper panels - they go together beautifully. Bravo on doing a great job of meeting the brief for all 3 challenges too - so pleased to have you play along with them all!
ReplyDeleteCUTE CUTE CUTE! Of course that corgi is adorable! I totally forgot he was on that DSP and now I am going to have to make some cards just like this one! TFS!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet corgi! The different papers are great and add quite a masculine touch to the card. Thanks for joining in with us at As You See It.
ReplyDeleteThat little corgi is my favourite of the DSP characters! And he holds his own so nicely on this adorable card! I love your background setting and the cute sentiment! Thanks for getting into our Theme Challenge at As You See It Challenges!
