Well kids, we've done all the prep so now we're hunkering down and waiting for Florence to show up to the party. I hope that it won't be too bad.
In the meantime, I sneaked into my craft room during yesterday's nap time to make this card.
I'm entering this at both Global Design Project and Retro Rubber since their challenges are the same. I'm amused at posting this today because the local school district cancelled school for the rest of the week here.
Perfectly Preserved is now six years old, so definitely counts as retro. I chose the apples, the green chalkboard, and the wood desktop for my inspiration but the colors came from elsewhere which I'll get to in a minute.
First check out the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:
I like that sketch, it's cool! And finally, here's the color challenge from the Paper Players:
Calypso Coral is my extra color. Somehow I ended up with Blackberry Bliss only on the sentiment. I tried two different color wash backgrounds for the card base and neither attempt worked AT ALL so I dug up a pattern from one of my favorite ever packs of DSP, Best Year Ever.
Cheers, y'all. Hope I'll be back with more cards here...I just don't want the power to go out!!!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Perfectly Preserved (retired), Tree Rings
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake, Best Year Ever DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Dimensionals

ReplyDeleteMost impressive, Christy, to be crafting in the face of an on-coming natural disaster! Joking aside, I hope you stay safe. The wee apple is very sweet and I like the way you've used the wood. Thank you for joining us at both Retro Rubber and The Paper Players this week.
