Hey hey hey, how's your weekend going? Sunday means it's time for a new challenge from The Paper Players! This week, the fabulous Joanne has an equally fabulous sketch for us:
My first thought was this is perfect to showcase some pretty patterned paper, and that's exactly what I did:
I had berries on the brain thanks to the Retro Rubber Challenge:
I had recently used the Berry Delightful DSP for another card, and since I bought a spare pack of it I was able to convince my dragon brain that it would be better to USE the paper than just stare at it in my hoard (the first, pack, at least, that second pack is still sealed in plastic). I stamped a blackberry, leaves, and the greeting with Berry Blessings, which is five years old. Retro in stamp years.
As it happened, I had pulled out the DSP and picked out what I wanted to play with before I got out the stamps, and I found some leftover stamped images from when I made this scrapbook layout so I made two more cards for a triple berry card pie:
I did have to argue with myself a bit about the card on the right, it was hard to cut into that sheet of paper with the blue plaid pattern...it's so pretty I want to hoard it! These two cards came together super quickly since I already knew the measurements I had used for the first card. All the berry and leaf images were already stamped and sitting in the stamp case, so these two cards count for the Inkspiratinoal challenge:

I love all of these--and I am with you about cutting into hoarded stash! I want to keep it forever and just look at it! But I am glad you were able to use some of those pretty plaids..someone else will now get to gaze at their beauty!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty colours, Christy. I like all three of your cards. I agree with you that this sketch is a keeper. And also a great idea to be using us the stash and the leftovers. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love these fruity cards! Great use of the sketch. The Berry Delightful DSP was some of my favorite!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Christy! I love it when gorgeous paper takes the spotlight. It's perfect for this week's sketch. I hope you are having a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThis sketch is the perfect layout to showcase paper - and your trio of berry-filled creations are just lovely. I know what you mean about cutting into DSP - so difficult unless you have a 'spare' pack in reserve! Even after my recent clear out I still have more DSP than anything else!!
ReplyDeleteChristy, I love this fabulous trio of fruity cards. I am a paper hoarder! Sometimes it is painful! LOL! I really love all of these, but I think the blueberries are my favorite. Such a great sketch to showcase this DSP. Have a fabulous 4th weekend!
ReplyDeleteA delightful trio of cards, Christy and yummy looking too! I love almost any type of berry, especially the ones used on your beautiful cards. Our raspberry bush is going crazy right now, it's almost hard to keep up with them as they ripen. And we have a new blueberry bush in the front yard, which will be wonderful when the berries finally ripen. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSuch yummy creations! Love the mix of berries and patterns; thank you for joining us with leftovers at INkspirational~
