Witchy Greetings

Midnight greetings, spooky pals, and a lucky #13 at that!  When I posted yesterday's Paper Players card, I mentioned that I had made three different cards with the challenge colors, and then let Ryan choose which one to post for the challenge.  So here's one of the alternates:

These are perfectly witchy colors, no?  I thought I'd have some fun with the Bewitching stamp set, which is image only so I picked up the "Best Witches" greeting from the eponymous stamp set.  For this one I used multiple shades of the Paper Players challenge colors:

I've got both Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather for purples (seriously, when are we getting Gorgeous Grape Blends???), and Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist for greens.  Elizabeth chose the challenge colors, I'm just her stunt double for hosting challenges for the rest of the year, she just happened to choose my two favorites : )

Stay spooky, y'all!

Fun with Frogs

Midnight greetings, spooky pals!  It's night three of the Halloween Hex-Travaganza and I have a fun card to share tonight!

Here is proof that a card doesn't have to be orange and black to be Halloweeny goodness!  I focused on my two favorite colors for tonight's card because green and purple are also great Halloween colors.  Once again I used a CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch:

And here is the original catty inspiration for the sketch:

I'm such a challenge junkie that it really helps me to start with at least one parameter instead of creating on the fly, and sketch challenges are perfect for Halloween cards.  So thank you to the CASE-ing Tuesday team for unknowingly inspiring a lot of the Hex-Travaganza cards I'll be sharing this month.

Stay spooky, y'all!

Witchy Hat

Mornin' y'all!  We had fall temperatures for a hot second last weekend and it's supposed to get up to 84 today, sigh.  But it still feels like fall in my craft room!

A couple of months ago, I bought a listing of various Halloween goodies on a Facebook resale group and the Inkspirational challenge was the perfect way to break in some of those new stamps:

I thought the playful nature of the Paper Players sketch would work great for my hat too:

I really don't know why I didn't buy Bewitching when it first came out, I love Halloween stuff.  Oh well, it's in my collection now, along with Spooky Cat, which is where I got the Halloween greeting.  I had fun going through some scraps of Toil & Trouble DSP for all the elements of the sketch and decided I wanted some black glimmer paper for behind the witch hat.  Then I discovered that I don't *have* black glimmer paper, whaaat.  So I made my own!  I smooshed my Versamark pad on some black cardstock and embossed with Shimmery Black embossing powder (really, SU!, why did that not become a permanent thing?  It's awesome!) et voilĂ , DIY glimmer paper.  I added a few shiny black star accents too because why not.

That's it for me today, peeps.  As soon as I get Ryan off to school, I'm heading out to get a mammogram done.  Ick.  Then I'll reward myself with a trip to Kohl's and Michaels : )  Cheers!
