SUO Challenges: SHINY!

Hey hey, happy Tuesday!  Yesterday did not go to plan...less than 30 minutes after I dropped Ryan off at school, I got a call from the school nurse that he was throwing up.  So I went back and got him and then we both took a nice long nap and I only did one load of laundry yesterday.  But he's feeling better now so hopefully we can get things done today!

And first up is a new challenge from SUO Challenges!

Here's our month-long challenge to end out the year:

I recently bought a pack of In Color Glimmer Paper just with this challenge in mind, so here's what I made:

All of the newest In Colors appear in the Unbounded Beauty DSP so that was an easy pair to make with the glimmer paper.  I started out with the pink version:

This card started with the Inspired By... challenge:

That's why I chose Pretty in Pink as the main color, with some red and a gingerbread man.  I had forgotten the peppermint swirls in the inspo pic when I made my card, but I chose those accents anyway so it works!

One glittery card just was not enough so I had to make a purple version:

I used Petunia Pop and a little bit of Shy Shamrock for this one.

Okay, it's time for me to get the kiddo off to school and he said his tum is much better so I'll be able to do more laundry (yay?) and go grocery shopping.  Don't forget to add your card to the SUO Challenges blog.  Cheers!

Ryan's First Christmas

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  My parents left for Texas about a half an hour ago, Ryan is at school, and I am sitting down with my breakfast sweet potato casserole and a cuppa before I take Daphne out for her walk.  My plan for the rest of the day is to do laundry and maybe sneak in some crafty time : )

I was feeling nostalgic for when Ryan was a wee babe so I chose Ryan's first Christmas to share today.

D'awww, he was such a cutie (I mean, he still is, he just argues more).

Oops, the page on the right is sideways and I didn't even notice until I was editing photos!

Okay, much better now that it's not sideways.  I made sure to include the pictures of Vader peeking around the tree at what's happening--I still miss him and Sadie, but I am so glad to have a dog again.  Daph is very different than Sadie and Vader but I love her.  Anyway, I chose a favorite pattern from the Under the Mistletoe DSP for my pages and then a few simple stamped accents to keep the focus on my bébé (and the hubs).

Today's festive color palette:  Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Old Olive, Night of Navy, and Whisper White.

Okay, I'm going to go take the pupper for a walk.  Cheers!
