A Trail of Bats

Mornin' y'all!  I did get a lot of stuff done yesterday (there are three pumpkin cakes sitting on my kitchen island right now) and I made a few cards too so today will be another double-post day.  I'm particularly excited about one card but I won't be sharing it for a little bit as it's for a design team : )

In the meantime, even though we still don't have our Halloween decorations out in the front yard, I do have a Halloween card to share:

Here's this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

At first I was thinking of doing a trail of leaves, but I saw the bats in the Spooky Halloween stamp set and decided to go with that instead.  I added a few of the die-cut bats from the Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP as well as a few foam stars and done.

Check back later for my second card today, right now it's time for me to get my workout done.  Cheers!

A Frightfully Good Color Combo from SUOC

Mornin' y'all!  Get ready for a new challenge from SUO Challenges!

It's comin' at ya right...NOW!
Now that we are officially in Spooky Season (because in my reality that officially starts on September first), I had to give these colors a Halloween spin.  Here's what I made:

I used the blendy thingies I can't think of the name for right now to apply Timid Tiger and Melon Mambo ink on some plain white cardstock, just kinda randomly, and then I flicked a bit of water on it and dried it with a heat tool because I'm impatient.  Then I stamped the Fright Night stamp on top, cut it out, et voilĂ , a custom-color background for my main image piece.  I played around with different elements and eventually landed on a few spiderwebs on some Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP, a few Melon Mambo Faceted Gems and done.  I've been in Michaels a couple of times recently and it seems like there is a LOT of Halloween decor out there with hot pink, so now I'm trendy (first time for everything).

Hope you'll play along with the challenge over at SUO Challenges.  You don't have to make it Halloween, just remember to use SU! only supplies and have fun.  Cheers!

Spooky CAS Bats

Mornin' y'all!  The closer we get to September, the more ready I am to get my spook on (she typed, while listening to the score from Casper) and once September 1 hits, that is the official start of Spook Season at least where I live : )  So we're in the pre-game show right now and I have spooky bats:

Mixing some old and new here, this year's Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP and the greeting from Fright Night, with my punched out bats from Spooky Sweets from 2018.  Really Spooky Sweets is such a little unassuming stamp set and I LOVE IT and I think it makes an appearance almost every year for Halloween cards.  Anyway, I turned this week's Freshly Made Sketch 90 degrees for my card:

You can see the sketch inspiration, right?  I added a few Shimmer Star foam stickers for accents and put some Wink of Stella on the bats, which of course doesn't show up.

I need to get my pal Krissy's birthday present ready to get shipped off and I have an appointment in a little while to be fitted for a bite guard, fun times, so I'd better vamoose.  Cheers, y'all!

Fright Night Halloween

Mornin' y'all!  We went school supply shopping for Ryan yesterday and got to meet his teacher last night.  I really like her, she's very structured and won't let Ryan win arguments with her : )  Excited for him to start school on Monday!

I also got a bit of craft room time last night for the first time in about a week so that's always a good thing.  Here's my card for today:

I bought ALLLLL the Halloween stuff when it showed up in the online exclusives and this is the first time I've used the Fright Night stamps (I did use the dies once before).  I thought this week's Creative Colour Challenge was the perfect excuse for a Halloween card:

I love the look of the stamped image on the Timid Tiger DSP, super super easy and it looks cool.  I used this week's sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

Well, maybe it's a modification of the sketch, I'm counting the words and images on the big stamp as the floral elements on the sketch.  I think it's close enough that you can still see how the sketch was my starting point.

And yesterday I opened up the world's most boringest Stampin' Up! order ever.

But somehow I had totally run out of Stamin' Dimensionals (no!!), so I got a bunch of those, a couple packs of envelopes, and three packs of white cardstock.  The most boring order ever, but necessary staples.

Time to take Daph-Daph for a tour of the neighborhood.  Cheers!
