Hydrangea Blues

Mornin' y'all!  I didn't have much time in my craft room yesterday and I really wasn't sure what I wanted to make when I sat down, but I liked yesterday's card so much that I thought I'd try the same thing again with the other big floral stamp.  So here it is:

I was intrigued by this week's Creative Colour Challenge:

And once again I used the Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I think they'll forgive me for plopping a big floral image in the middle of their sketch.  Here's my two cards together:

I think I still like yesterday's card better, but I'm glad I got to try out that fun color combination on the hydrangeas.

Supplies, hydrangea card:
Stamps:  Thankful Garden
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Summer Splash, Lost Lagoon, Shaded Spruce
Paper:  Summer Splash, Shaded Spruce, Thick Basic White, Summer Splash DSP
Accessories:  Thankful Garden dies & masks, Dimensionals, In Color Shimmer Gems

In other news, my Nancy Drew obsession continues; this is what came in the mail yesterday:

Numbers 1, 2, and 3 are the revised text versions but with different covers:

And the rest are all original texts.  I am super excited to read all of these and compare with the revised ones that I read so many times in childhood : )  I read up through #20 of the revised texts and then I started getting the originals, so I went back and reread both versions of #5 and now I'm continuing on with both versions of each book.  And there's a new Nancy Drew challenge post coming tomorrow!

That's it for now, peeps.  Have a great Friday!

Oh my gosh, I don't know what made my heart go pitter-patter more--the beautiful cards (especially the blue-hued one) or the NANCY DREW books! They were so much a part of my childhood! I read every one I could get my hands on, and then sadly, my mom got rid of all of them. I could have cried. Have fun reading them! I still remember one of the characters, Cora Appel! That name just cracked me up!

WOW, I adore this card with the Hydrangea - it's a fabulous layout and your designs works well in this colour palette - although I really like the first card too. Thank you so much for joining in with Creative Colour Challenges

both great cards! love your Nancy Drew obsession. I have read all of those...not sure which version, mostly likely the original since most of my books were passed down from older cousins. thanks for sharing with us at Atlantic Hearts Challenge.

I love your card, the colour is fabulous, so bright, fun and cheery! Now for the books, I love that you're getting them. I was a Ramona and Beezus fan and had them all, but through many moves over the years, I lost them and was heartbroken. My girls are teens now and asked them to go through some books they have outgrown, and my middle daughter was so sad, she could not part with any; they were her childhood. I said that is fine, let's box them up and clearly label what is in the box so we don't accidentally purge them later! Love that she cant part with them!

Love both of these cards; I think I prefer the coral/green one, but there is something so striking about the full-on aqua version - so fresh.
