Sweet Colors, But Make It Spooky?

Mornin' y'all!  It's time for a new challenge from the Paper Players, and this time LeAnne has a sweet color challenge for us:

And if you read the title of this blog post, you're probably wondering how I could possibly turn those colors into a spooky card.  Here's how:

Isn't Medusa the CUTEST?!  As a child, one of my favorite movies was Clash of the Titans (the 1981 masterpiece with Harry Hamlin, not that 2010 disaster, I shall speak no more about it because ugh) and I really love Greek mythology.  (Side note:  there's a new Percy Jackson book coming out soon!)  So anyway, I found this Mini Medusa from Sweet November Stamps and I was instantly smitten with her.  I was cruising through my stamps with the challenge colors in mind and I kept coming back to Medusa.  Hope you love her as much as I do!  What do you think Medusa would use as a nickname?  I think she lets her friends call her Doozie.  And by friends obviously I mean her snake hair.

Hope you'll join in the fun at the Paper Players blog!  And check out what the other Paper Players made for more inspiration:

  and now me : )

Have fun!  I think I need to find a book where Medusa is the heroine because she got a bum deal in the original myths and she deserves better.  #JusticeForMedusa  Cheers!

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Lemon Lolly, Stampin' Blends in Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon, Lemon Lolly

Christy, this is fabulous! I couldn't wait to comment on your Medusa! My grand daughter would LOVE this card. She loves Greek Mythology, too. You rocked these colors! SO creative!

How spooky cute is this! You have used the challenge colors to perfection, Christy. Your blending is amazing. Growing up I was into Greek and Roman mythology, so Doozie brings back a lot memories! Have a wonderful week!

I have been so excited to comment on this card Christy - it is fab in this week's colours and as for Medusa - she is just awesome (those snakes!!!) Hands down my favourite PP card this week (and bravo for finding a non-floral use for this colour palette!)

I never imagined Medusa being cute, but your card is absolutely darling, Christy! I do think it's a great (and unexpected) way to use the colors and it's just a ton of fun. Love your creativity!

Oh heavens! This is the cutest Medusa I have ever seen in my life. Mind you, it did sorta look like my mother used to look in her massive curlers, too:-). I love that you used the colors in such an unexpected way. Thanks for making me smile

Well! I'm impressed by the out of the box use of the colours but also VERY impressed that you actually have a Medusa stamp! I can see your collection is mysterious indeed! Great card!
