Mornin' y'all! How's your Friday going? I stayed up just a little bit too late finishing what turned out to be a pretty dang good book and I just bought the next four in the series for my Kindle. I also like to have a physical book in my car to read while I wait in line to pick Ryan up from school, and yesterday I started rereading the very first Nancy Drew book and you know what? It's still pretty great too. *happy sigh* I love books. My Nancy Drew books are a bit battered but hey, I've had many of them for over 30 years, they've been through a lot.
Know what else I love? PIE.
Do these flying pie slices make your brain start playing The Ride of the Valkyries? Just me? Okay. I just saw this Tee Turtle shirt yesterday and imma have to get it so I can wear it when I make all the pies for Thanksgiving this fall. Anyway, today it's all about French silk pie, which I have never made but I can get on board with chocolate + pie. What's not to love? Also now feeling the urge to rewatch Pushing Daisies, where the main character is frequently referred to as the pie maker. Such a great show, cancelled far too soon.
Anywha. I used this week's CASEing Tuesday sketch:
The inspiration for the sketch:
And I used this week's Color Throwdown:
I miss having those weekly, but I'm glad they didn't decide to just shut down the challenge entirely. I used Azure Afternoon for my blue and light and dark versions of Pecan Pie for the browns, plus a bit of Ivory Stampin' Blend for the pie crusts.
Anyway, it's a beautiful (if chilly) day and I have a walking date with Daphne, then it's off to do laundry and work in my craft room. Cheers!

Oh my goodness...I was the hugest Nancy Drew fan back in my younger days! Your pie slices made me think of the hugely funny scene in the movie "The Help" when the character "Hilly" ate some of the famous "chocolate" pie made by her "help". LOL! Thanks for bringing back some fun memories with your awesome take on the throwdown colors!
French silk pie from Perkins is my favourite American guilty treat - I'm sold!! Hubby made pecan pie for the first time last weekend which was delicious - rather like your card!!
As always, you have brought us another great card! Thanks for joining us at the Color Throwdown Challenge!
