BEARlin

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  We have our first frost this morning--last night Ryan looked out the back door and said it was raining snow, which sounds funny but looked like an accurate description of the weather to me.  He's disappointed that we haven't had any snow up to now, he enjoyed having so very many snow days off of school last year.  Maybe it's just getting a late start this year.

Anyway, for today's scrapbook layout, we're continuing our Berlin trip pics but this time it's all about the bears!  We discovered that there are bear statues all over everywhere in Berlin so we had Ryan get a picture with every one that we passed.

This is how I designed the layout, but when I went to take a picture of it I put the pages like this:

Do you have a preference?  I still think I like the top one better.  I had the pictures printed out 2x3 inches when I was working at the arts & crafts center in Germany, I was able to show my coworker what I wanted and she printed them out just how I needed to fit in a whopping EIGHTEEN pictures on this layout.  That might be a personal record.

I pulled in the Night of Navy, Call Me Clover, and Crushed Curry from the Funny Faces layout that goes right before this one, adding in Calypso Coral, Blueberry Bushel, and Bermuda Bay for my full palette on today's layout.  What took the longest on this layout was deciding which mat color should go with which picture, and then where each picture should be on the layout, I fiddled with picture placement for quite a while before I started sticking things down but I really like where I ended up.

I really want to get back into scrapbooking, I haven't made any pages in months as I've been concentrating on the Nancy Drew stuff (which has also been great fun).  Just never enough hours in the day to make (and read) everything I want to!  In related news, my newest stitching project is looking pretty good already : ) I wasn't feeling good over the weekend and so I put in a lot of stitching time while watching the first two Lord of the Rings movies, which was great fun and didn't require much energy.

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  Did you have a good Easter?  This was the first time Ryan got an Easter basket, and he says the Easter bunny loves him A LOT (spoiler alert: she does).  He got candy and Legos and a pop-up book and we did an egg hunt outside and then another egg hunt inside the house and he had a great time with it.  Then we had a nice Easter dinner with our neighbors, so it was a pretty great day.  Over the course of the weekend, I also made over 100 muffins that the hubs is going to take in to work tomorrow morning, so it was a busy weekend!

Moving on to this week's scrapbook layout!  Pics from April 2018 when Ryan was just over a year old.  Aww, he was so widdle!

Okay the middle picture on the left page cracks me up--Ryan would jab a pair of toy scissors onto his dad's chest and then the hubs would holler and make noise and yell "Kali maaaaaaaaa!" like on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Ryan would laugh hysterically and do it again.  For a while there, my mom was trying to make lions a "thing" for Ryan because MY favorite toy as a child was a stuffed lion that talked when you squeezed him, so Ryan has several lion toys and she'd send him clothes with lions on them, like that shirt with the gold on the right page.  That gave me an excuse to use that cool geometric lion stamp :)

Today's color palette:  Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Crushed Curry, and Whisper White.  I love the Woodland Walk DSP pack and I'm glad I got more than one pack of it, I still bust it out every now and then.  Well hey, it's mostly greens and you know how I love greens!

I work today, but the hubs does not and Ryan's daycare is closed too so for once the hubs is watching Ryan while *I* go to work!  Something new and different after the last four years, haha!  Have a great week, peeps!

Ryan: Eleven Months

Hey y'all!  Back with another baby book layout and the finish line is in sight, this is his 11-month photo shoot.  Lemme tell ya, Ryan's baby book is GIGUNDOR.

Here's another outfit that I just loved and picked specifically so it would be in his baby book.  Isn't it the cutest?  When I was a wee young lass, my favorite toy was a stuffed lion named Bravely who talked when you squeezed him, so for a while my mom was getting allllll the lion stuff for Ryan (whose favorite stuffy is a duck).  Ryan spent most of this photo shoot trying to escape (see the top left photo and two bottom right photos).  As he got more mobile, monthly photo shoots got more complicated.

The Coastal Cabana jacket is what drove the color palette here, I picked the patterned paper I wanted to use and then built the rest of the color palette around it:  Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Blueberry Bushel, Coastal Cabana, Soft Suede, and Whisper White.
