Easter Bunnies

Mornin' y'all!  I've just been helping Ryan with his research project, which means that I too am learning about George Washington.  But here I am with a card today!

I was in my craft room yesterday and just could NOT settle down to make anything until I found this carrot paper in the Fruit Salad DSP from the recent Sale-a-Bration.  That made me think of this adorable Ears to You stamp (the three bunnies and the sentiment are all a single stamp) to use with the As You See It sketch:

I stamped the bunnies in Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, and Petunia Pop so today's card is brought to you by the letter P.  And my bunnies fit in with the Inspire. Create. challenge:

And since I reached way back in the archives for today's featured stamp, I'm entering this at Retro Rubber:

Ears to You debuted in March of 2013 so it is 12 years old, I think that qualifies as pretty retro.  And hopefully this card has kickstarted my mojo so that I can make something else in my craft room today.  I'm about to go find out.  Cheers, y'all!

All Ears

Apparently I have bunnies on the brain because today's card features another trio of rabbits.  I guess it's the season for bunnies?

As soon as I saw the inspiration pic at Fusion, I knew I had to dig up this bunny stamp!  The three bunnies and the sentiment are all on one stamp, I just fussy cut the bunnies because I like 'em that way.  Here's the Fusion challenge that sent me down the rabbit hole:

I love it when I see a challenge and know I have exactly the right stamps for it : )   Guess it shouldn't be surprising considering the size of my stamp hoard.  I decided to go with retired colors too and used up some scraps of Tip Top Taupe and Dapper Denim DSP.

Cheers, y'all!

The Easter Bunny

I was looking through my SU catalog recently and a particular card caught my eye--it's on page 178.  I thought the layout was a great way to use a smaller stamped image, so I had to CASE it, and here's the result:

Yep, I cut the bunny out of the Ears to You stamp.  I'm trying very hard to ignore the part where my greeting is a little crooked...I use the SAMJ *all the time* but for some reason I still have trouble with those itty bitty sentiment stamps being crooked.  But everything else was already stuck down so I'm trying to convince myself that the crooked sentiment adds handmade charm.  Right?!

The pretty springy color combo is courtesy of Create with Connie and Mary:

I like Summer Starfruit okay, but I still miss my Crushed Curry from a couple years ago.  I'm starting to wonder what we'll get in the next batch of In Colors this summer, I'm sure there will be something I'll love!

ETA:  What a coinky-dink, this also works for the just-posted SUO challenge to make a spring/Easter card.  I spy some more Ears to You bunnies on their challenge post too.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

The Ears Have It

Easter is early this year, and to be honest I usually don't send out Easter cards but I totally LOVE these bunnies!

This is one of the single stamps available from SU just until the end of March; it's called (appropriately enough) Ears to You.  Love the patterns on the bunnies and I think next time I play with this stamp I'll cut the image apart.  It's fun the way it is, but they're not too hard to cut out anyway and then there's more scope for imagination, as Anne Shirley would say.  I already had to cut out the So Saffron and Lucky Limeade bunnies; I colored in the stamp with markers and those two just looked kinda muddy and didn't match the rest of the card, so I inked them up with the ink pads and then cut them out and adhered them on top of my original image.  Betcha can't really even tell in the photo, huh?

Anywha, the colors are from Color Throwdown:

Love the inspiration picture, so fun and springy.  The sketch is from Fab Friday:

So I didn't do a literal interpretation of the butterfly on the sketch, but I *did* still put a butterfly on my card :)  That background layer is one of the dies from Apothecary Accents cut in half and adhered behind the main image so it sticks out on both sides; the original die isn't that wide but you can fake it pretty easily.  And now the Lucky Limeade polka dot bits form a nice visual triangle, so yay.

Thanks for stopping by today!
