Newborn Pictures #1

Scrappy Monday, y'all.  Quick post today as I need to get going to work!

I did several layouts of Ryan's newborn pictures for his baby book, but I also made several for our chronological albums.  The pictures are so cute I just couldn't resist : )

Ryan has grown a lot in the last few months,  I swear he's several inches taller.  So it's nice to look back at these pictures when he was so tiny!

Today's color palette:  Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey, Shaded Spruce, Crisp Cantaloupe, Night of Navy, and Whisper White.

Cheers!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Cuddles & Kisses
Ink:  Night of Navy
Paper:  Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy, Shaded Spruce, Crisp Cantaloupe, Thick Whisper White, Lullaby DSP
Accessories:  Chalk Talk Framelits, Sizzix heart

Bear Book: Gotcha Day!

Whoops, I forgot to get this bear book layout posted yesterday!

Once again I used green and gold for the main colors, but I figured even though this is for a boy bear that I could get away with some Flirty Flamingo photo mats.  It looks like a LOT of pink now, but when pictures are on there it won't be a lot at all :)

Plus pink is good for hearts.

Today's color palette:  Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black, and Whisper White.  Though I think maybe Basic Gray would have been a better choice for the letters, to be a little less stark than the black.  Too late now!

Supplies:
Stamps:  All-Heart Bear from Whipper Snapper, Cuddles & Kisses
Ink:  Basic Black, Garden Green
Paper:  Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black, Thick Whisper White, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP
Accessories:  Circles Framelits, Sizzix Alphabet, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Prismacolor Pencils

Friday Flashback: Baby Tees

Happy Friday, y'all!  I've got a busy day going here because I have a LOT to do before we leave for Texas tomorrow afternoon.  Wheee!  So let's get to the Friday Flashback, shall we?  This week's stamp set is Baby Tees, which was actually a jumbo wheel but I cut mine apart and made it into five stamps and I love it that way.  Okay, cards!

Also features Cuddles & Kisses

It seems like most of my friends for the last several years have had boys, so a LOT of these cards are boy cards.  Out of the last five baby books I made, four were for boys (and you know who got the girl one).  Anyway, I think I made a mask and sponged the color on the onesie for this card which I thought looked pretty cute.

Also features A Word For You

Watercolor Wonder Crayons for coloring on this one.

Also features Curly Cute

Oh look, girl cards!  I made the one on the right because I'd seen a purple and orange baby quilt that I really liked (more grape purple rather than reddish purple like Rich Razzleberry, but I have to work with the ink colors I have).  Might be interesting to try that kind of card with Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum, hmm.

Also features Sweet Essentials and Confetti

The sentiment should be a little darker on this one but otherwise I think it's cute.

Also features Cuddles & Kisses

And from the name of the photo on this one, I made it after Duchess Kate gave birth to lil Prince George :)

Also features Alphabet Rotary

Okay, one last card from the archives, and here is today's new creation:

It's...another boy card!  But I'll get to why in a minute.  First up I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

Cutting out all the pieces for the card and stamping the images and sentiment took like five minutes, and then it took me an hour to color in all the onesies (I used a blender pen and squished ink pad lids).  And it's more boy because it just happens that I liked the Color Throwdown this week and it's more boyish:

I used Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, and the retired Coastal Cabana for my colors, plus some Basic Black and a wee bit of Soft Suede for the hangers.

Okay, off to work on my to-do list.  Cheers, y'all!

Supplies, last card only:
Stamps:  Baby Tees, Made with Love, Hearts a Flutter
Ink:  Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede
Paper:  Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Thick Whisper White, Wild Wasabi DSP
Accessories:  Dimensionals

Friday Flashback: Baby Prints

Happy Friday!  And of course it's time for a Friday Flashback : )  Today's featured retired stamp set is Baby Prints, which I've used more than a couple of times since my friends do insist on having the babies.  I think you'll be able to figure out pretty quick which stamp in the set is my favorite!

Also features A Word for You
Here's an easy-peasy baby boy card to start off with.

Also features Banner Blast and a past Paper Pumpkin stamp

And one for baby girls too!

Again with the stamp from A Word For You
...And another baby girl card, which is funny because for a long time it seemed like everyone I knew was having boys.

Baby book!  Can't go wrong with green and blue for baby boy pages, right?  And it turns out there's a pair of hands to go with the baby feet.

Hey, same layout but in pinks.  The lighting isn't optimal in this picture, it looked better in real life.
Also features Cuddles & Kisses
I wish the sentiment had shown up a little better on the patterned paper for this one.

Also features Curly Cute
I know you're surprised to see more baby feet.

Also features Cuddles & Kisses
And this time it was TWIN feet!  Those twins turned one a couple months ago.  So there's the Flashback (a long one this time!) and that means it's time for today's brand-new card, featuring (you guessed it) FEET.

I can't help it, I like the baby feet stamp like 700 times more than the baby hands one.  I was looking around for a sentiment to go with the baby feets and that one from Apple Blossoms seemed like a good idea, so I went with it.  Today's card is boyish because that's where the colors from Colour Me...! took me today:

I started out kinda doing this week's Retro Sketch, but I strayed far enough away from the original sketch that I'm not going to enter it over there.  So that's it for me this week, hope you have a great weekend!

Cheers, peeps!

Supplies, last card only:
Stamps:  Baby Prints, Apple Blossoms
Ink:  Island Indigo, Crisp Cantaloupe
Paper:  Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Crisp Cantaloupe DSP
Accessories:  Labels Collection Framelits, Alphabet EF, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Dimensionals

Flowers for Baby Girl

So it seems like most of the pregos I know are having (or just gave birth to) boys, but as it happens I find myself in need of two baby girl cards for showers this weekend.  So here's one I came up with (you already saw the Baby Cakes card).

And the inside:

The picture isn't the greatest, but rest assured that even though it's stamped in Pistachio Pudding, the sentiment is perfectly easy to read IRL.  My photos have just been a bit lacking of late, despite the bright sunshine...oh no wait, it was bright and sunny earlier, but we're back to clouds now.  Such is England.  (Don't believe me; I'm really going to miss England.)

This card was only produced thanks to the proper application of chocolate, Disney songs, and a couple of challenges.  First up, I used today's brand-new challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch:

I actually had lots of ideas for this sketch when I saw it, but I needed this baby card so it came first.  I thought the colors from Around the World would be great for a baby girl card:

This actually took me a ridiculously long time to make.  I started with the Postage Stamp punch behind the flowers, but it was just too big for the delicate little Petite Petals, so then I tried a couple more things before I ended up with my two sizes of scalloped circles.  I thought about putting some Candy Dots in the flower centers but I thought that might be one thing too many; I already wonder if this card really counts as CAS.  Oh well, it's done now!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Cheers, peeps!

Baby Makes Three

Howdy, peeps!  I've got a cute little baby card to share today.

This has already been sent off in the mail to our friends who are expecting their first little one.  I really intended for this card to be much more gender-neutral but somehow it ended up being very BOY...but it seems like most everyone I know is having boys right now so maybe I'm psychic?

Have a great day!!

CreativeCrew: It's a Shower

We're just making it a scrappy week here at Snapdragon, because this week's CreativeCrew project is also scrappy.

The pics are from my friend Tiana's baby shower before her first daughter arrived; I had fun playing with the bright colors and of course I had to put that giraffe on here.  Tiana and I used that giraffe on Emma's baby announcements so I think of them every time I see it :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Don't forget to check out the CreativeCrew challenges here and the gallery here.

Royal Baby

So the Internet has been all abuzz since yesterday about the new royal baby, and since I had insomnia last night because it was too hot to sleep, I did a bit of late-night stamping and made this in honor of lil what's-his-names:

What's funny is that this card came together really fast at 11:30 last night when I couldn't seem to get any traction during normal daylight hours.  I used the color combo from Just Add Ink:

And the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

And now I have a boy baby card in my stash, which is good since I had a couple of girl baby cards and no boy ones till now even though it seems like most of the mamas I know are having boys.

It's raining this morning but inside the house at least it just feels more humid rather than cooler than yesterday.  Bleargh.  I'm ready for it to cool down a little bit!  75 would be aces.

Thanks for stopping by today and congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their new arrival :)

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Baby Tees (jumbo wheel, I unmounted it), Cuddles & Kisses
Ink:  Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso
Paper:  Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Afternoon Picnic DSP
Accessories:  Early Espresso button (old style, I don't have the new ones yet), linen thread, Chevron EF

Friday Flashback: Nursery Necessities

Are you ready for another Friday Flashback?  Today's stamp set is Nursery Necessities, which I bought because over the past four years I've made THIRTEEN baby books for friends and family.  So let's flash back!

This was a baby announcement I made for my friend Sarah, whose daughter was born ON Halloween (to Sarah's everlasting delight since she loves Halloween).  Ok seriously, the only stamp on this from Nursery Necessities is the sentiment.

And here's a baby book layout I did for Sarah's son (actually I made this one first but whatever).  See the little boat?  Nursery Necessities.

Next up are a few newer projects:

These are the front pages for Karyn's twin boy baby books.  My mom sent me two albums, one red and one blue, so I used the same colors on each but alternated them.  And woohoo for Crushed Curry's most triumphant return to the SU color lineup!  I've found myself reaching for it quite a lot lately.  Here I paired it with Brilliant Blue and Riding Hood Red, both retired, but together the three of them make some pretty awesome Superman colors.

Last up, this is a keepsake paper invitation I made for Karyn's shower.  People here usually do Evite for things like baby showers, but I thought it would be nice for Karyn (and her mom, I made two) to have an actual invitation for it.  I patterned it after the Evite so they look pretty similar.

And that's all she wrote today.  Thanks for flashing back!

Supplies, Karyn's scrapbook pages:
Stamps:  Nursery Necessities
Ink:  Crushed Curry, Brilliant Blue, Riding Hood Red
Paper:  Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Brilliant Blue, Riding Hood Red, retired DSP in Brilliant Blue and Riding Hood Red
Accessories:  large star punch (retired), old Sizzix alphabet

Supplies, last card:
Stamps:  Nursery Necessities, Cuddles & Kisses
Ink:  Crushed Curry, Versamark
Paper:  Pacific Point, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, retired Crushed Curry DSP
Accessories:  corner rounder punch, white EP

Woohoo, It's Two!

So I'd already made a card to give my friend Karyn at her baby shower but the day before the shower I got this idea for a twin boy card and I couldn't help making it.

And I need a V-8, so just tilt your head to the left :)  I always seem to get pictures just a little bit crooked, and I haven't figured out how to rotate just a few degrees on the Mac like I can do on our PC laptop, so it stays crooked.

Anyway, for the polka-dotted piece, I punched out two Modern Label punch shapes and lined them up so they'd extend all the way across the Whisper White baby feet panel, and then I covered up the join in the middle with the sentiment.  Simple layout but I adore how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Baby Prints, Cuddles & Kisses
Ink:  Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo
Paper:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White, retired Lucky Limeade DSP
Accessories:  Oval, scalloped oval, and Modern Label punches, Dimensionals

Baby Boy Joy

While I was in Texas, I got to call my friend (and former college roommate) Beth on the phone and *finally* found out she had a baby boy just after Thanksgiving.  Beth is kinda almost completely unplugged...not on Facebook, and she didn't set up her email again after it got corrupted last year.  Happily, I did catch her on the phone and found out her hubs is on FB so I now have an electronic lifeline to her : )

Anyway, I need to finish up a couple of layouts for the baby book I'm making for Beth's son Elijah, and here's the card I made to go with it:

Kinda wish the sentiment showed up better on that patterned paper, hmm.  The star brad is retired but I liked it on this card, which is based on the most recent sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch:

I really liked this sketch, lots of possibilities.  That's all she wrote for today, thanks for stopping by!

Supplies (all SU!):
Stamps:  Baby Prints, Cuddles & Kisses
Ink:  Gumball Green, Night of Navy
Paper:  Whisper White, Night of Navy, Gumball Green, Subtles DSP Stack

Rain or Shine

Happy Monday, everyone!  I've got another swap card to share today:

Oh, how I love those cute little umbrellas, and that DSP.  That DSP is why I am almost completely out of Melon Mambo cardstock...can't have that with Valentine's Day on the horizon!  The row of flagged DSP strips was inspired by this card on SCS that used the More Amore DSP and Hearts a Flutter stamps; I wanted to do that to show off a lot of the scrumptious Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP without using a lot of each sheet.  The umbrella tops are popped up on Dimensionals and I think I might have liked a more opaque ribbon on there, but that was the only Daffodil Delight ribbon I had on hand and it works.

I said this one day last week and I liked it, so go forth and stamp happy!  :)

Supplies (all SU!):
Stamps:  Rain or Shine, Cuddles & Kisses
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Lucky Limeade, Basic Gray
Paper:  Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP
Accessories:  Daffodil Delight seam binding, Dimensionals

A New Little Someone

I posted the pics from the baby book for our new niece a while back, and this is the card I made to go with it:

The picture seems just a little bit blurry, doesn't it?  Sometimes it's hard to tell if I got it really well in focus until it's downloaded to the computer.  Oh well, you get the idea.  This was an old SCS sketch and I really like it...especially now that SU! has oval Framelits!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies (all SU!):
Stamps:  Rain or Shine, Cuddles & Kisses
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade, Basic Gray
Paper:  Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP
Accessories:  Oval Framelits, Occasions paper piercing template, heart punch, Dimensionals
