Christmas Treats

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  Wow, I haven't worked on scrapbook pages in a really long time.  I won't get the chance this week either since the hubs asked me to make 65 Christmas/holiday cards for his work.  No rest for the crafty!

These photos are from all the way back in 2008; we always gave Sadie and Vader some kind of treat or toy when we first started opening Christmas presents so they would be distracted by the treats and not try to "help" with opening the other stuff.  Man, I miss those two.  Anyway, I've got some nontraditional colors happening here thanks to the Candy Cane Christmas DSP and I like it.

Island Indigo, Blushing Bride, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, my favorite Baja Breeze, and Whisper White.  Well, there is a red and a green on there.

Christmas cheer, kids!

Friday Flashback: Tags Til Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps!  It's time for this week's Friday Flashback, and this time around it's a pretty short one.  We're taking a look at Tags Til Christmas...well, one stamp from that set anyway :)

Also features More Merry Messages

That's my single solitary card using this set.  And I didn't look through my photos to see what I'd done before I made today's new card, so I used the ornament stamp again and even did it the same color!

Well, what can you do.  I do like the CAS feel of this card though, I like it better than I expected to.  I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

And the current Pals Paper Arts color challenge:

DANGIT I just realized I did Crumb Cake instead of Baked Brown Sugar!  It's close enough I hope?  I added a smidge of Early Espresso for the sentiment, too but it's all still food colors.  And now I'm kinda hungry.

Hubs and the pups are all currently napping on the floor in my craft room, which presents a bit of an obstacle course when I'm trying to get to certain stamps and cardstock.  But hey, at least we're all hanging out together.

Cheers, peeps!

Supplies, last card only:
Stamps:  Tags Til Christmas, Snowflakes, Four the Holidays
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Ornament punch, Pearls, Dimensionals

CAS Christmas Ornament

Sometimes I see a sketch I really like, and then it takes me forever to figure out what to do with it because there are so MANY possibilities.  Like the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch that was posted almost a week ago:

Yep, love it.  I was actually pretty productive in my stamp cave today and came up with this (and a few other cards, but you won't see those till next week):

I liked how the Champagne glimmer paper reflected on the shelf under the card :)  I embossed a panel of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and then adhered it to a card base of the same color, which is something I picked up from Debra Currier (love her blog).  The card is pretty CAS I think...I added a thin torn border of Early Espresso because the Marina Mist strip just seemed to need a little something more.  The card is actually 5 1/4" across, but only because for some reason my card base was cut that way (scrap from my stash) and I didn't feel like cutting into a new piece of paper. Doubt anyone would notice if I didn't say anything about it ;)

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you're having a wonderful Thursday!
