Baby Luke: Last Page

Woohoo, we're at the last page for Luke's baby book!  I decided to lean in to the Star Wars angle one last time:

Baby Luke: One Year Old

Happy Saturday!  I am really closing in on the last of the baby book layouts...I've got today's post and then just one more for the last page in Luke's book.  And this one is super cute!

I loooooooooooooove the Bonanza Buddies stamp set that came out a couple years ago, and the coordinating paper.  Seriously, aren't those little dudes the cutest?!  Love the fun bright colors for this layout, which were all taken directly from the patterned paper:  Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay, Terracotta Tile, and a bit of gray and black for our animal buddies.

Cheers, y'all!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Bonanza Buddies
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Smoky Slate, Terracotta Tile
Paper:  Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay, Terracotta Tile, Thick Whisper White, Birthday Bonanza DSP
Accessories:  Bonanza dies, Sizzix letters

Baby Luke: January

Just two more baby book posts to go after this one!

I thought that winter pictures would probably have a lot of rosy cheeks, and since most of the pink will be covered up by the photos it doesn't look TOO girly :)  Love the Coastal Cabana with all the snowflakes, that DSP pack was pretty awesome.

We're going to hop across the border into France today, maybe look at some antiques and hit up the big bakery while we're there.  Au revoir!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Snowman Season, Merry
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Blueberry Bushel, Pumpkin Pie
Paper:  Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Blueberry Bushel, Thick Whisper White, Let It Snow Specialty DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Snowman Builder punch

Baby Luke: December

Hey y'all, quick post today.  We're nearing the end of the baby book posts!

AAAHHHHHHH how cute are those elves?!  The stamp set #Elfie was only available in the holiday catalog for I think 2019 and I had to get it for this baby book.  I fussy cut the elves for the right page and colored all three of them with Blends.

Have a great weekend!

Stamps:  #Elfie
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Blends in Poppy Parade, Call Me Clover, So Saffron, Petal Pink, Smoky Slate, Pool Party

Baby Luke: November

Hey hey!  Here we are in the second half of May and it's still cool enough outside that we're all in long pants and jackets.  I'm ready for it to warm up just a little bit.  Of course, after it gets hot this summer I'll be dreaming of cooler temperatures!

Anyway, a new baby book layout for today.

When I did the Acorny Thank You Friday Flashback post, I'd forgotten that I had used it on this layout too.  I love making the acorns with different colors and patterns.  Wonderfall is a favorite leaf set, too--it has a matching die, but this was before wafer dies were really a thing so it's a Bigz die which means you can't see exactly where it's cutting.  So you have to cut the paper first, then stamp on the die cut shapes...to be honest usually I just fussy cut the things, it's easier to me.  I love these leaves so I'm willing to put up with it :)

I got up before the hubs and the kid this morning so I spent a bit of extra time in my craft room and made ELEVEN cards for future Friday Flashback posts.  I won't get to do any paper crafting this week so I had to snatch the time while I could!

Have a great weekend, y'all.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Wonderfall, Acorny Thank You
Ink:  Raspberry Ripple, More Mustard, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade
Paper:  Soft Suede, Raspberry Ripple, More Mustard, Very Vanilla, Orchard Harvest DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Acorn punch, Nestabilities circle die

Baby Luke: October

Hey y'all!  I've been doing a re-read of my favorite author's book series, and it's been several years since I read the first two books so even though I generally remember what happens, I've forgotten enough that I keep staying up past my bedtime to read :D  Happily I got to sleep in a bit this morning and despite threatening rain we're going to get out and do something here shortly.

But in the meantime, I have a baby book layout to share!

I love doing Halloween layouts :) And how cute are the little monsters from the Boo To You stamp set?  I bought it just for this book and I love how cute they are on here.

Hope you have a great day, peeps!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Boo To You
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Orchid Opulence, Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate, Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Blackberry Bliss
Paper:  Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green, Orchid Opulence, Thick Whisper White

Baby Luke: Game Day

Hey y'all, happy Saturday!  After a week of mostly rainy weather, it looks like today is going to be beautiful!  We'll have to figure out something to do outside today.

Trucking along on Luke's baby book and we're up to the football layout.

My brother (Oklahoma State cowboy) and SIL (Texas Christian horned frog) go to the OSU-TCU game almost every year, so when I did my niece's baby book I made her a layout for the big game and had to do it again for Luke's book.  But I couldn't do the exact same thing again...and I think I got rid of my first set of football stamps anyway?  So I had to buy new football stamps *rolls eyes*  My mom sent me a bunch of OSU and TCU stickers so I used the mascot stickers on here and sent the 8 billion other stickers back to Mom.

Like Clara's layout, the page base is gray, but I switched up the accent colors for each side.  Clara got TCU on the left and OSU on the right; I switched it up for this layout even though I don't like having Pistol Pete staring off the edge of the page.

Have a great weekend, y'all!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Fall Family & Football by Joy Clair
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate & Soft Suede
Paper:  Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape, Thick Whisper White, Basic Gray DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, OSU & TCU stickers

Baby Luke: September

Hey y'all, how's it going.  I had my second Covid shot on Thursday and spent most of the day yesterday laying on the couch or in bed and I *still* feel like the floor of a taxicab.  And then we had some excitement yesterday afternoon--I went to pick Ryan up from daycare and the lovely lady who watches him for us hustled outside and told me that Ryan had hit his head and would probably need stitches.  So I called the hubs and then went inside to get Ryan, who all things considered was very calm about the whole thing.  He'd tripped and hit his head on a corner of the wall (an outie corner, not an innie corner, if that makes sense) and has about a 1" gash on one side of his forehead.  So we met up with the hubs and took him to the ER and eventually they put some strips on it and some glue to hold it closed, so no stitches, which was a major relief for Ryan (he was terrified of the idea of stitches).  To be honest, I'm surprised we made it four years before Ryan's first ER visit!  Given my klutziness and his dad's propensity for injuring himself doing random things, that kid was doomed from the start.  But he's doing just fine.

Anyway, it's time to post another layout from Baby Luke's book, so behold September:

I don't remember ever liking foxes particularly much before I had Ryan, but after he was born, I could not resist buying him clothes with foxes every time I saw them.  Heck, just a couple months ago I got Ryan a bright orange hoodie and the hoodie part is a fox face.  So of course I had to sneak some foxiness into this baby book.  And also some long-time favorite DSP, I love those weathered stripes.

Hope you have a restful weekend, friends.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Foxy Friends
Ink:  More Mustard, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip
Paper:  More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal, Very Vanilla, Autumn Meadows DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Labels Framelits, Nestabilities oval die

Baby Luke: August

Hey y'all, happy Saturday!  I've got a big ol' mug of Lucky Irish Breakfast tea in front of me, Ryan and the hubs are playing video games, and it's a lovely peaceful Saturday morning.  Just lovely :)

We're still trucking along with the layouts for Baby Luke's baby book.  I talked to my parents last night and they said Luke, who turned 1 in February, is walking all over, climbing on everything he can reach, and always wants what his big sister has.  He's pretty much the spittin' image of my little brother (his dad), haha!

So both my brother and SIL love cars and between the two of them they own I think seven or eight vehicles.  I already used Geared Up Garage on the first page in the book, so for this one I used Pedal to the Metal.  It was in the Occasions catalog the year I made this book, and I pretty much bought it just for this.  The Confetti Celebrations DSP pattern reminded me of tire treads and I thought it was just perfect for this layout.  I chose bright summery colors for this and I had to color the truck in orange because my dad actually owns a bright orange truck.

Hope your weekend is off to a good start.  We're going to see if we can go out and do something...ANYTHING!  So much stuff is still closed but maybe we can find a new place to go hiking or something...cheers!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Pedal to the Metal
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Smoky Slate, Tempting Turquoise, Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate, Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Lovely Lipstick
Paper:  Tempting Turquoise, Mango Melody, Pineapple Punch, Lovely Lipstick, Thick Whisper White, Mango Melody & Pineapple Punch DSP, Confetti Celebrations DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Stitched Shapes dies

Baby Luke: July

Happy Saturday, y'all!  Once again the hubs was nice enough to let me sleep in this morning :) Hope we have a nice relaxing weekend.

Ready for another baby book layout?  It's a classic.

For reals, I've used that Whipper Snapper bear on more than a couple baby book layouts.  He's just perfect for 4th of July and who doesn't like a teddy bear?

Today's color palette is red, white, and blue with a little spin:  Real Red, Pacific Point photo mats, Bermuda Bay DSP, and Daffodil Delight accents.

Cheers, y'all!

Supplies:
Stamps:  July Fourth, Patriotic Bear from Whipper Snapper
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Bermuda Bay, Stampin' Blends in Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Pool Party
Paper:  Real Red, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Thick Whisper White, Bubbles & Fizz DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, star punches

Baby Luke: June

Hey y'all!  We are truckin' right along on Baby Luke's baby book here.  Well, he's more like a toddler now considering he turned one in February and has started walking ;) Here's the June layout:

My brother graduated from Oklahoma State, home of the cowboys, so this layout is my nod to that (the April layout got the Texas Christian University treatment with frogs and purple).  I wish I had gotten more than a single pack of that Painted Autumn DSP, I don't have very much of it left.  I recently used it on several scrapbook layouts so at least I'm using it!

Hope you have a good weekend, peeps.  Weather is supposed to be cold and rainy here so we have to figure out how to entertain Ryan while staying indoors...

Supplies:
Stamps:  Out West, Wanted
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Suede, Stampin' Blends in Soft Suede, Night of Navy, Call Me Clover, Petal Pink, Smoky Slate; markers in Tangerine Tango & Peekaboo Peach
Paper:  Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango, Garden Green, Very Vanilla, Painted Autumn DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Deco Labels Framelits

Baby Luke: May

Hey y'all, happy Saturday.  I got my first Covid shot on Thursday afternoon and last night I was just So. Stinkin'. TIRED.  Lucky for me I have an awesome hubs and he let me sleep in until 10 o'clock this morning!  So I'm feeling better now which is good because I need to get my bake on today--he's asked me to make several batches of muffins for his work, and since I don't want to bake away Easter Sunday and I work on Monday, today is the day.  But first, a baby book layout.

Okay, this book is for baby Luke Walker (middle name not Sky, but...) and I could NOT resist doing a May the Fourth layout ;) The Star Wars stamps are from The Ink Road and I went with an Endor theme because Ewoks are cute and it still felt springy.

I'm off to the kitchen.  Hope y'all have a great Easter weekend!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Droid Please & Furball from The Ink Road
Ink:  Soft Suede, Balmy Blue, Blueberry Bushel
Paper:  Old Olive, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Balmy Blue, Thick Whisper White, Fall Flowers & Summer Picnic DSPs
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Stitched Shapes dies

Baby Luke: April

Uuuurrrrrggghhhh.  Lately Ryan has been having bad dreams and waking us up a lot in the middle of the night and the hubs and I are SO. TIRED. today but of course Ryan is all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and hyperactive.  Anybody know how to find a kid's off switch?

Buuut it's time for another layout from Baby Luke's baby book, so here it is:

My sister-in-law attended Texas Christian University, so this is my nod to the school colors and mascot.  I don't have any horned frog stamps (I did search online, and no luck) so I went with regular frogs from a past Sale-a-Bration stamp set, So Hoppy Together.  Paired with a favorite cloud pattern from an old pack of DSP and this layout came together pretty quick.

Cheers, y'all.  Send caffeine.

Supplies:
Stamps:  So Hoppy Together, Cauldron Bubble
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Blends in Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party
Paper:  Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Thick Whisper White, Gorgeous Grape DSP, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Stitched Shapes dies

Baby Luke: March

Happy weekend, everyone!  And today's layout is seasonally appropriate, if a few days late...

I love that clover-themed paper from the Happiness Blooms DSP, so I built this layout around it.  Pinch Proof is a very, very old stamp set--SU! hasn't had very many stamp sets that are only St. Paddy's Day themed, so I'm glad I've got a couple of the old ones from way back when I started stamping.

We had snow again yesterday (really?!) though it was too warm for anything to stick.  Today looks like a very nice day, though still cold, so I think I'll be taking Ryan out to the playground later so the hubs can have some time to play in his craft room.  Cheers, y'all!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Pinch Proof, So Happy For You
Ink:  Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel, Calypso Coral, Versamark, Petal Pink & Pineapple Punch markers
Paper:  Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel, Calypso Coral, Thick Whisper White, Happiness Blooms DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Layering Circles dies, clear embossing powder

Baby Luke: February

Hey y'all, happy Saturday!  Ready for another baby book layout?

I think that teeny heart pattern might be my all-time favorite Valentine DSP from Stampin' Up!  It's always a fun challenge to do a Valentine layout for a baby boy that isn't really super girly.  Yes I have the heart paper, and several shades of pink and red, but then there's the cute doggo and accessories to make it more boyish.  Looking at this now I kinda wish I'd done a slightly bigger circle for the dog stamp to give him a bit more room to "breathe".

'Nother rainy day here, how's your weekend going?  Cheers, y'all!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Happy Tails, And Everything Nice, Bow Wow, dog from Whipper Snapper
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Crumb Cake, Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Balmy Blue
Paper:  Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Thick Whisper White, All My Love DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Layering Circles dies, circle punches

Baby Luke: He's Here

Mornin' y'all!  It's a beautiful day here in Germany, but cold--we're still planning to go hiking this afternoon though.  I think I'll be wearing my battery-operated heated vest :)

Today I have another layout from Luke's baby book, and it's all about dinosaurs today!

Man, I haven't played with this stamp set in ages (well, I haven't gotten a lot of time to play with any stamps since we got to Germany, so...).  Dinosaurs are always a cute choice for baby books, no?  I love the Dinoroar DSP too, and there's some pink patterns if I ever need to make a baby book for a girl in the future.  I haven't made another one since this one and Luke just turned one though.

Anyway, I started with the patterned paper and built the color palette from there--Pineapple Punch (I do love this super-bright and cheery yellow), Mango Melody on the DSP, Pool Party, and Pretty Peacock, with a bit of Old Olive thrown in for an accent.

Have a great Saturday, y'all!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Dino Days
Ink:  Mango Melody, Pretty Peacock, Old Olive, Pool Party
Paper:  Pineapple Punch, Pool Party, Old Olive, Pretty Peacock, Thick Whisper White, Dinoroar DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Dino dies, Stitched Shapes dies

Baby Luke: Luke James

Okay y'all, I'm going to start sharing Luke's baby book layouts on Saturdays I think.  So here's the first full layout:

Baby Luke was named after a friend and mentor of my brother's, who gave his life in service to our country on his first deployment, leaving behind his own infant son.  Ryan's middle name is Luke partially because of that too--when Ryan was born we didn't know if my brother and SIL were going to have any other kids (Luke has a big sister), or if they'd have a boy, so we chose that for my son's middle name to honor my brother's friend even though we never met him.  (And also Ryan's grandfathers are Rich and Larry, so he shares an initial with each of them.)  Anyway, bestowing this name on his son was very important to my brother, so I wanted to have a layout in the baby book where he could write about why they chose this name and maybe have a picture of the first Luke there.

I kept the colors muted, mostly greens and brown as a nod to Army uniforms.

Supplies:
Stamps:  For Your Country, The Free & The Brave, Land That I Love
Ink:  Always Artichoke, Dapper Denim, Crumb Cake
Paper:  Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Dapper Denim, Very Vanilla, Manchester DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters

Baby Luke: First Page

Hey y'all!  Today is my nephew's first birthday, so I thought I'd start sharing the pages from the baby book I made for him before he was born :) So here goes!

My brother and SIL are both car nuts and Luke has a lot of car-themed stuff in his room, so I chose Geared Up Garage to start off the book with.  I just pulled colors from the Classic Garage DSP for the rest of the layout and I really need to use colors like Tranquil Tide more often.  I love that color (retired now) but somehow I forget to use it much.

Anyway, there's the start of Luke's baby book, to be continued next week sometime.  Cheers!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Geared Up Garage
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate & Real Red
Paper:  Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Tranquil Tide, Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie DSP, Classic Garage DSP Stack
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Layering Circles dies, Garage Gears dies

Ryan: Last Page

Here we are, y'all.  It's the VERY LAST PAGE for Ryan's baby book!  Woohoo!  I started sharing layouts from this on Ryan's third birthday in February (first page is here) and now we're finally at the end.  It was a lot of pages :)

For this one, I picked some of my favorite pictures.  The top one is our first family photo, the bottom two are ones that I loved but for one reason or another couldn't fit in on other pages in the book, so I'm glad I managed to find a place for them.  As I'm sure you can imagine, we took ZILLIONS of photos of Ryan's first year, so deciding which ones to use in his baby book was sometimes difficult because he's so stinkin' cute.

The last color palette for Ryan's baby book is a bit different than the first page, although I used the same cardstock base and DSP:  Lost Lagoon, Wild Wasabi, Hello Honey, Gray Granite, Midnight Muse, and Whisper White.

That's a wrap!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Foxy Friends
Ink:  Gray Granite, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Lost Lagoon, Midnight Muse, Thick Whisper White, Lullaby & Woodland Walk DSP
Accessories:  2 1/2" circle punch, Starburst dies

Ryan: February (Again)

We're almost at the end, folks.  Since Ryan's birthday is right smack in the middle of the month, I did a February layout for right after he was born and then another one for when he turned one.

After all, I needed a place to write about that crazy move.  We never did a photo shoot for his birthday; the three middle pics on here were taken on his first birthday and that was it, so it's a good thing we did his birthday celebration before we got to NC.

Today's color palette:  Coastal Cabana (I used this a lot in Ryan's baby book), Pacific Point, Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick, Soft Suede, and Whisper White.  It's a bunch of pink and hearts but you can't escape that with Valentine's Day.

See you next time, same Bat time, same Bat channel :)

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Letters for You, Teddy & Train, Forever Lovely
Ink:  Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Flirty Flamingo, Versamark
Paper:  Coastal Cabana, Lovely Lipstick, Pacific Point, Flirty Flamingo, Thick Whisper White, All My Love DSP
Accessories:  Large Letters dies, Layering Circles dies, small heart punch, clear EP
