SUO Challenges: Variations on a Theme by Tammy

Mornin' y'all!  I am writing this blog post on the hubs' PC laptop, and given that I've been pretty much exclusively a Mac user for over 10 years, I am practically PC illiterate now.  So it's slower and more difficult to do things but I couldn't NOT post today, because it's SUO Challenges day!  Check out the new challenge:

Every once in a while, I come across a sketch or a theme and I make a card and then my brain fizzes and I make another card and then another one and guess what happened with this challenge.  Here's what I made:

I had individual pictures taken of each of these cards and of course those are all saved on the Mac that is currently dead but we're hoping can be resuscitated, so all I have is this one.  I didn't take new pictures of the cards because I have no idea how to do photo editing on the laptop...I have to email photos to myself on my phone and then access my email on the laptop to even get pictures to show up here, because I can't figure out how to upload blog pictures on my phone either.  #TechTroglodyte

Anyway, I started out with the card on the top left using the Hobby Haven DSP and cutouts, and I used pink but not the same shade that Tammy did.  Next I thought I'd do a love card, but not specifically Valentine's Day since that's past now, so I broke out the Made with Love DSP and the Valentine Kisses stamp set--and I even challenged myself to use a different bear instead of the kissy bear with the wings : )

For my third card, I got out some scraps of the Perennial Lavender DSP which I think is in the annual catalog so you can still buy it if you haven't already.  The die cuts are from an old Paper Pumpkin kit that coordinated with that whole lavender suite.  And finally is probably my favorite, you know I love the Nature Walk DSP and Nature's Symphony bundle.

So there you have my variations on a theme by Tammy.  I was actually going to make a fifth card this weekend but then I got that cold from the hubs and I spent almost all weekend laying around sniffling.  Anyway, I hope that you'll have even half as much fun as I did with this challenge, and upload your creations at the SUO Challenges blog.  Don't forget to use only Stampin' Up! products!

Mornin' y'all!  I tell you what, I have been ON FI-YURRRR in my craft room lately!  Which is great, since for the past couple of weeks it has felt like a bit of a struggle to get things done but right now I have almost a dozen cards sitting on my computer desk that I made over the past couple of days.  So let's get to one of those!

We're going CAS today and I have several challenges, starting with Time Out Challenges:

I have sparkle, red, heart, and pink, which is not too shabby for a CAS card.  Next up is the Color Hues Challenge:

I used Real Red and Flirty Flamingo for my hues and the only other color is white.  Next up is Cupcake Inspirations:

I think I'll make this card again with a different color for the card base and give it to the hubs for his birthday, which is on Valentine's Day.  I'll so something that's a little less pink for him : )

Most likely I will be posting another card this afternoon because like I said, I have quite a pile going and I don't want to miss challenge deadlines.  In the meantime, I'm going to take my girl Daphne out for a walk.  Cheers!

Smoochy Kiss

Mornin' y'all, I am on the struggle bus today.  Another night of not nearly enough sleep, which means a lot of caffeine today!  So let's get to it.  How about a Valentine?

I was kicking around card ideas in my brain yesterday and I thought the Creative Colour Challenges palette would be fun with this bear from Valentine Kisses:

There are two other bears in this stamp set, but for realsies we know I'm going to choose the kissy face bear every time.  I also used this week's Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I looked for a fun rectangular die to use for the background elements but they were all the wrong aspect ratio for my card, so I ended up snipping a few scraps of Lemon Lime Twist DSP for the panels and then giving them a thin Early Espresso mat.  And I still have die cut elements on the diagonal behind the sentiment piece.

Anyway, I think it's time to brew my first cuppa tea today and then take Daphne for a walk.  Hopefully I'll still be able to get a few things done today.  Cheers!

Bear Hugs

Afternoon, y'all!  My hand is feeling better, though it's still purple; my right shoulder and arm are what bother me more, really.  Be careful when you're walking around where it's icy!  I was Very Careful when I took Daphne out this morning.  I just saw her slip a bit on ice on our back patio when I let her out a minute ago, but she managed to stay on her feets so she does better than I do.  She does have twice as many feets though.

Anyway, since I am feeling okay (if a bit sore), I got in my craft room today and made a few things, including a card to share this afternoon:

Y'all KNOW I love anything with bears!  I got the Valentine Kisses bundle in...November I think?  But I hadn't done anything at all with it yet, not even stamping an index sheet for it until today.  Which means I can share this at Inspire. Create.:

This seemed like the perfect excuse to cut into my new Made With Love DSP, so I hit the top row of colors with Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo, and Real Red, plus a dose of Pecan Pie and Ivory for my kissy-face bear.  There are lots of fun patterns in this DSP, I will have to play with it some more, love it.

Anyway, I've got just over an hour until I need to leave to pick Ryan up from school, so I'm going to go back up to my craft room and see what I can make for tomorrow.  Side note:  the cookie dough Oreos that just came out are dangerously good, which I should have known already because I seriously love Oreos (except anything that's like java or mint, ick), but they only had a couple of packages of them at my grocery store so if you, too, love Oreos, be on the lookout for those.  That is my Public Service Announcement of the day.  Cheers!
