Dublin, Part 2

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  I actually went in my craft room yesterday and did some work on scrapbook pages, so yay me.  It's been a while since I scrapped.  I've got four layouts that are partially done right now, but I just realized last night that I shared part 1 of my Dublin pages, but I hadn't done part 2 yet, so here it is!

I did all my Ireland layouts on various shades of green for the page bases, because of course I did.  This one is Emerald Envy, which might be my favorite shade of green.  I love that watercolor chevron pattern from the retired Naturally Eclectic DSP.

Not so sure about my dragonfly accent here, it feels a little bit random.  I used that "laughter" quote stamp because if you look we're being silly in several of the photos.

Today's color palette is straight from the patterned paper:  Emerald Envy, Fresh Fig, Soft Sky, Peekaboo Peach, and Whisper White.

Looks like this week will be a little bit less busy than last week for me, so maybe I'll actually get some of those in-progress layouts finished.  Wish me luck.  Cheers!

The Best Things

Hey, kids!  How's it going?  We've got the hubs' parents here this week but I did manage to sneak down to my craft room yesterday and make a quick card or two.

Feel Goods is on the retiring list, and I do love the sentiments in that set although now that I see it in this picture it looks like maybe my sentiment tilts ever so slightly up to the right?  Oh well.  I look at the world in a slightly askew fashion anyway.

I got the colors from this week's Global Design Project challenge:

My first instinct was to go with something marine, like By the Tide, but in the end I decided that Feel Goods needed some inky love before it retires on June 1.

I also used the latest Fab Friday sketch:

Fun times.  I'd better get off the computer and attend to my hostess duties...cheers, y'all!

Sunny Butterfly

I think I'm on a butterfly kick...this is two days in a row.  It's only going to get worse, too--one of the top three stamp sets I can't wait to get my hot little hands on in the new catty is all about the butterflies.  And new butterfly Framelits.  But for now let's have a sunny day:

I inked up the sentiment stamp in Pear Pizzazz and used a Q-Tip to remove the color from a couple of key words, which I then colored with a Bermuda Bay marker.  I don't think I quite got all the Pear Pizzazz ink off though, because parts of the Bermuda words have a distinct greenish cast.  But I'm all like hey, it's an extra color freebie!

Speaking of colors (or should I say colours?), I got this awesome colour palette from Colour Me...!

They're having a design team call right now and I was thinking that I'd love to put my hat in the ring to try out for it, but we're moving in a couple of weeks.  But then I just saw that the DT commitment doesn't start until July, and that might be doable.  Hmm...

Anywha, I also used the sketch from Fab Friday:

I love how there are different challenges every day of the week; my only problem is that a lot of times I need an extra six or seven days in the week to play in all of them, even with combining two or three at a time.  Life is so tough ;)

Hope you have a sunny day, peeps!  We're off to my hubs' cousin's high school graduation tonight.  I'll be wearing a fun springy floral dress.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Butterfly Basics, Feel Goods, Hello Love
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Bermuda Bay
Paper:  Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Accessories:  Butterflies Thinlits, Subtles Candy Dot, Dimensionals

P.S.  I now have the theme song to Sesame Street stuck in my head.  "Sunny days...."

Sunshine Butterfly

Well, apparently I'm in the mood for sunshine this week.

I didn't think about it until I was almost done making this card, but I just did a sunshine birthday card yesterday.  Oh well, who wouldn't want to get one of these in the mail?

Actually I need this to go off in the mail today anyway :)  I used the bold, bright, and beautiful color combination from Create with Connie and Mary:

I can't help it, I'm a sucker for Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry.  Add in another bright color and I'm all over it.  I also kinda-sorta used the sketch from Retro Sketches:

My intention had been to use the sketch but adapt it to a landscape card instead of portrait, but I kinda moved around the elements so I'm not 100% it counts as using the sketch now.  I do have all the same elements on my card though.

Anyway, we've got book club at my casa tonight, so I need to get started with cleaning up a few things (read:  make it not smell like this house is overrun by dogs, even though it is) and make a coffee cake.  Cheers, peeps!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Swallowtail, Feel Goods, Bring on the Cake
Ink:  Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry
Paper:  Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Best Year Ever DSP (Sale-a-Bration exclusive)

Thankful for Friends

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!  I hope you're having a wonderful holiday :)  One of the things that I am most thankful for in the world is good friends, so I've got a friendship card for you today.

I got the Gold Soiree paper pack a while back, and this is the first time I've used it.  All hail Garden Green!  I love Garden Green, but up till now it was almost never used in Stampin' Up!'s DSP.  This pack also has gold in it and the papers are coated so they have a little bit of a sheen.  The two patterns I used happen to be the two sides of a single sheet.

I used the current Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch for my card:

Easy peasy!  And wouldn't it be nice to have Candy Dots in gold and silver?  I used brads on my card, but the Dots are wonderful because you don't have to poke holes in your card front to use them, and there's no brad legs on the inside to look at.

Anyway, time to go eat more pie :)  Have a great holiday!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Feel Goods
Ink:  Garden Green

Nachos: The Best Starfish

Hey Nacho fans!  Are you ready for another great color combo?  If you want something different than your typical fall palette, we've got something great for you:

Though I suppose you *could* use these colors to make a fall card!  I went a different direction:

I tend to use all dark colors as neutrals, so today Night of Navy counts as a neutral.  If you want to see more pretty cards with this color combination, check out the Nacho Average Challenges blog, and then let's see what you've got!

Cheers, peeps!

Nachos: Hello Sunshine

Happy Tuesday, Nacho fans!  This week Nacho Average Challenges brings you a lovely sketch:

I love sketches like this because there are so MANY possibilities!  So here's what I came up with:

I accidentally smudged the green lattice I stamped on the patterned paper, but I'm going to pretend I did it on purpose.  It's a little hard to see in the photo, but there are rhinestones in each of the flower centers.

Call me crazy, but I almost like the inside of the card even better than the front of it:

I don't know, it makes me happy :)  I used a marker to ink up just the word "sunshine" on a stamp from Feel Goods, and then added the little "hello" from A Dozen Thoughts.  And I like the little flower and how the center of the flower lines up just right with the swirl on the end of "sunshine" :)

So now it's your turn!  Check out the Nacho Average Challenges blog to see the beautiful creations from the rest of the design team, and then post us a link to your own card so we can ooh and ahh over it :)

Peace out!

Nachos: Sunshine & Butterflies

Hellooooo Nacho fans!  Are ya ready for a brand-new Nacho Average Color Challenge?  Because here it is!

Three Regals colors, love it!  Have I ever mentioned how happy I am that Crushed Curry came back to the regular SU! color lineup?  Mah favorite yaller ever.  (You're supposed to read that with a fake cowboy accent.)

Anywha!  Here's my creation:

I used my paper piercing tool and a couple of piercing templates to do the butterfly toots.  I mean, why do we always draw flight paths behind butterflies and airplanes?  For the airplanes, it's exhaust or condensation, right?  So this must be butterfly toots.

I think I've already spent too much time thinking about this.

Go see what the other Nachos have made and then give it a whirl yourself!  Link up on the Nacho Average Challenges blog so we can ooh and ahh over your creation :)

Cheers, peeps!

Sunshine Florets

The day is upon me...comprehensive exam day.  I'm hoping that I do well enough on this test that I'll pass it all in one go and not have to take it again in March.  Today I've got a sunny cheery card that hopefully will send me some positive vibes while I type my little hands off on four giant essay questions.

I hope that today is sunny wherever you are, friends!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Monday!

No, really, I mean that.  As I said over on Snapdragon, yesterday I accidentally dropped my engagement ring in the toilet while it was flushing, and it didn't go down the pipes so I feel really lucky.  And then this morning, on my walk with my little doglets, I found a 10-pound note on the ground and no one around to claim it, so I made about $15 walking my dogs today.  How's that for a start to the week?

And I'm feeling pretty good that I got some scrapbooking done this weekend and I'm uploading more pics to get printed out to do even MORE scrapping.  I'm on FI-YUUUR (that's "fire" for you non-Southerners).

And I made a card today!

I was thinking about the current challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches when I was trying to get to sleep last night, and this idea popped in my head.   Even better, this card took me like ten minutes to put together and I LIKE it.  So yay!  I think I'll send this to my friend who's training for a half marathon and is also a professional photographer (I have serious photo envy just looking at the stuff she posts on Facebook).

Anywho, here's the sketch:

Yeah, I added a layer.  I think I need to get the chevron background stamp, 'cause I am loving that paper but it would be even more awesome to have chevrons in any color I want.  Oh wait, I do have a smaller chevron background stamp from the My Paper Pumpkin kit a couple months back, so I can use that for now :)

Have a fun-tastic week and thanks for stopping by!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Feel Goods
Ink:  Real Red
Paper:  Real Red, Pool Party, Whisper White, I Am Me DSP
Accessories:  Corner rounder & 1" square punch, retired Real Red satin ribbon (it's the only Real Red ribbon I have), staple (which unfortunately doesn't coordinate because it's hot pink--yes I have colored staples--but I don't think most people would notice except I just told you)

She Believed

Happy Monday peeps, I hope you're feeling better than I am.  The stomach bug has caught up to me so mostly I've been spending time either sleeping or lying on the couch watching movies (GI Joe, Galaxy Quest, and a James Bond movie...I like movies where things blow up).  But I finally managed to make a card for today!

I have a friend who is running her first half-marathon later this month, I think this might go to her.  I picked out that pattern from the Twitterpated DSP and let it dictate my color combo for everything else.  The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:

Lovely sketch didn't take me long at all to put together my card once I chose the Feel Goods stamp.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stampin'!

Feel Goods Daydream

Howdy, folks!  I can't wait to share today's card so let's get to it!

I think this is my favorite thing I've made this month!  I used Daydream Medallions embossed with white EP on Tangerine Tango and Island Indigo cardstock, and the center piece is cut from a piece of Sycamore Street DSP (Sale-a-Bration exclusive!).  I did not come up with that brilliant idea however; I found it on Lynn Weiss's blog and couldn't wait to try it myself!  That design from the patterned paper fits perfectly in the medallion stamp.  I put a Daffodil Delight brad in the center; surprisingly enough, it makes a pretty good match to the Summer Starfruit ribbon.  I think the only way I'd like this card better is if I could magically make the Rich Razzleberry parts on the DSP be Island Indigo instead to match the rest of the card, but I'm still pleased with it as-is.

The sketch is from Create with Connie and Mary and I'm kind of in love with it:

Click on that link above and look at Mary's card (second one down).  I can't *wait* to get Swallowtail in my hot little hands so I can CASE that card!!!  Wow, I just realized how many exclamation points I've used in this post.  I'm gonna go over my monthly allotment if I'm not careful...

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Supplies (all SU!):
Stamps:  Daydream Medallions, Feel Goods
Ink:  Island Indigo, Versamark
Paper:  Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo, Sycamore Street DSP

Bring in the Sunshine

Howdy folks and happy birthday to meeee!  Today's card is one that I made for a recent swap and I really liked how it turned out.

I love the Feel Goods stamp set, don't you?  Awesome font, awesome sayings, and I think I might have said that before but I don't care if I'm repeating myself.  And I love that Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP, definitely gonna have to get more of that!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantabulous day!  I'm gonna eat some birthday cake.  But first, Mexican food!  Oddly enough, not much good Mexican food where I live in England, so I'm taking advantage while I'm in Texas.  :)

Stamps:  Feel Goods
Ink:  Pacific Point
Paper:  Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP, In Color DSP Stack

The Best Things

Helloooo in blog land!  It is a lovely snowy day here in England...well, it's not snowing now, but we've got a pretty good amount of the white stuff from a couple days ago and everything looks all pretty ('cept where the snow has gotten slushy on the streets).  I even went out walking around our village this morning and took some pictures :)  So as a break from all that snow, how about a cheery springy card?

I love the new Feel Goods stamp set, isn't it awesome?  Fabulous font and even more fabulous sentiments!  The card layout is from Retro Sketches:

And the color combo is from Color Throwdown, I think this is the first time I've played in that challenge!

I admit, the Crumb Cake was kinda throwing me for a loop so there's just a teensy bit of it poking out under the butterfly's wings.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a marvelous day!
