Tool Time

Afternoon, y'all!  Usually I get my post written in the morning, but today I took Ryan to camp and then had a bunch of errands to run so I didn't get back home until almost noon.  Had to get blood drawn, and then I got some 4th of July decorations and a couple of new pairs of shoes, so I accomplished some things.  But here I am now, ready to start the week off with a MAN card!

When I went in my craft room yesterday, it took me a while to get stuck in and make something, so instead I got mostly caught up on doing my index sheets for my personal stamp library and washed all my blocks, and they needed that.  Then I was finally able to focus and make this for several challenges.  Let's start with TGIF:

I like to tease my husband about how 95% of his wardrobe is in what I call The Man Rainbow (gray, black, navy blue, and khaki) and the remaining 5% is usually like a medium blue or a dark red, but I thought the tiny bit of Granny Apple Green I used on my card still keeps it to the 95% Man Rainbow rule, haha.  Next up is Festive Friday:

I have masculine colors, splatters, tools, and a Father's Day sentiment; this will be for my hubs because he really is Mr. Fix-It.  See last week when he insisted on fixing the dishwasher after spending hours in the ER that day for his back.  Next up is the sketch from As You See It:

I had fun with this sketch, I'd like to make another card or two with it.  Finally, don't forget the theme challenge at The Paper Players:

He called this morning while I was getting ready to take Ryan to camp and asked if we wanted to go to the rodeo again this year (the answer is yes).  We had a good time last year and I think all of us are looking forward to going again.

Anyway, I'd better hurry up and take Daphne for her tour of the neighborhood since she didn't go this morning.  On the other paw, she didn't eat her breakfast and it's still sitting in her bowl, so...hmm.  She's giving me puppy dog eyes but I'm not giving her any treats until she eats her regular food.  That's it for now, peeps!

SUO Challenges Celebrates Dads & Grads

Surprise, it's a double post day!  Okay, I wrote out the first post and blithely published it and didn't remember that it's SUO Challenges day until I went to go look at Cynthia's blog and she's on the ball and did her SUO Challenges post for today and I FORGOT.  So it's a double post day now!

And here is our theme this time around:

No one in my immediate circle is graduating this year, so I went for a Father's Day card:

And I made this weeks ago, not tracking that the annual catalog was coming to an end so the DSP I used is retired.  Actually so is the stamp set I used for the sentiment, but I'm happy that Doggone Friendly is in the new catalog!  Not that it matters since I keep my stamps forever.  Anyway, I decided to go with Doggone Friendly for my Father's Day card because the hubs and I were the parents of two fur babies for many years before Ryan entered the chat, AND we'll be getting a new doggo (or two) after we move next month.

Your turn!  Make a card for the dad or grad in your life (or both, if applicable), and upload it to the SUO Challenges blog.  Have fun!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Doggone Friendly, He's All That
Ink:  Pebbled Path
Paper:  Misty Moonlight, Pebbled Path, Thick Basic White, Fresh as a Daisy DSP

SUO Challenges: Bring On the Man Cards

Happy Tuesday y'all, and get ready for a new SUO Challenge heading your way!

And for this challenge, it's all about the guys in your life...

I know a lot of stampers struggle with masculine cards, and believe me, I love the floral stamps as much as the next gal, but while my husband is deployed this year I definitely need lots of masculine cards to send him (even if the last one got returned...that happens when you transpose the numbers in the address!).  So here's my newest masculine card:

Really I let the All About Autumn DSP do the heavy lifting here!  And it reminded me of our 2018 trip to Maine, the adventure I've been sharing in my Scrappy Monday posts lately.  So one quick stamp from He's All That and I've got a fabulous MAN card to send to my hubs!

So are you up to the challenge?  Make a masculine card using only Stampin' Up! products, and share it on the SUO Challenges blog.  And as always, have fun!  I know I'll be making another masculine card soon to send to the hubs : )

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  He's All That
Ink:  Mossy Meadow
Paper:  Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso, Copper Clay, Thick Very Vanilla, All About Autumn DSP Stack
Accessories:  Layering Circles dies (retired), Brushed Metallic Dot, Dimensionals

Paper Players: Flippin' Awesome Sketch

It's Sunday, which means it's time for a new Paper Players challenge!  Check out this awesome sketch from LeAnne:

Fun, right?  Here's what I made:

I couldn't resist using stars for two of the shapes on the sketch, even though the Stitched Stars dies just retired.  How awesome is the He's the Man suite?? I used the handy-dandy item number to buy the entire suite (stamps, dies, DSP, and embellishments).  My hubs does like to grill steaks on occasion, so this will be a good Father's Day card for him.

Give the sketch a try and share it with us at the Paper Players blog.  Have fun!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  He's All That
Ink:  Early Espresso
Paper:  Sahara Sand, Crushed Curry, He's the Man Specialty DSP
Accessories:  Stitched Stars dies, Dimensionals
