Hide & Seek Champion

I wasn't trying to play hide 'n seek this week, but it's been a wild time.  Monday afternoon I started having strong abdominal pains but it wasn't until after being admitted to the ER twice that they figured out my appendix came in like a wrecking ball.  Got that taken out on Wednesday (by which time it had ruptured, to add insult to injury) but today is the longest I have been upright since Monday night.  The hubs, Ryan, and Daphne are all taking good care of me.  I'm going to sit up for as long as it feels okay and then climb back in bed.

As it happens, over our weekend at Estes Park, Missy was wearing a Bigfoot shirt and I mentioned that I own Bigfoot stamps that hadn't been inked up yet.  Well, on Monday (before the fireworks started), I got out that stamp set and here's what I made to send to Missy:

What do you think?  I love the fall palette from Creative Colour Challenges:

I made the card base Early Espresso to make the colors pop, and I used Pecan Pie for Bigfoot.  I also had fun playing with the Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I don't much like to make square cards, so I stretched the sketch out into a rectangle.  Hoping to be feeling better soon but it might take some time before I get to post as much as I did before.  That said, I made another card on Monday that I may share this afternoon so I don't miss out on entering challenges : )

Cheers, y'all, and an important life lesson:  Don't let the ER doctor release you without a diagnosis.  I wish I had stayed instead of going home on Tuesday afternoon.  Just glad it's over now!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Autumn to Remember, Squatch on from The Ink Road
Ink:  Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lolly, Pumpkin Pie, Versamark

Crisp Autumn Breezes

Happy Sunday, y'all!  Per Ryan's request, I have a pumpkin coffee cake in the oven for breakfast this morning.  That has become his hands-down favorite Sunday breakfast : )

I still have lots of snow in my backyard but here I am making an autumn card.

This is a combination of two challenges, starting with The Card Concept:

I used the colors Copper Clay, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, and Very Vanilla, though I wish I had gone off piste a bit and done Early Espresso instead of black.  I also zeroed in on the metallic copper elements in the photo which is why I embossed the sentiment, and dug out some very old copper cord for an accent on my clean and layered card.

Next up is TGIF Challenges:

This made me think of the beautiful leaves in Autumn to Remember, so I tried to stamp them as if they're being blown by the wind in the background.

That pumpkin cake is about to come out of the oven so that's it for me today, y'all.  Have a great Sunday!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Autumn to Remember
Ink:  Versamark, Copper Clay, Crushed Curry

A Couple of Copper Cards

Mornin' y'all, and happy Saturday!  Our pre-Halloween snow is still sticking around in the backyard, though it was completely gone in the front yard by the time trick-or-treating started on Halloween night.  Just goes to show how much colder it is in constant shade!  But I'm all nice and toasty in my house and thinking about starting the kettle for my first cuppa tea today : )

But first, a couple of copper cards!

I have been having lots of fun playing with Copper Clay lately, love this color.  For this card, I paired it with Old Olive and a little bit of Peach Pie on the bird--I did regular masking and reverse masking to sponge Peach Pie on the bird and Old Olive on the background.  Then I used a marker to isolate just the single word from a greeting stamp (the whole thing says "Sending a bit of love your way") and added some retired Chocolate Chip ribbon.

Still having fun with this Atlantic Hearts sketch and the Sweet Days of Autumn DSP so I made another card:

I kinda wish the animals were all facing one direction on this paper, not gonna lie.  That deer looks a little past tense if you know what I mean ; )  Still, it's super cute paper and this time I used a greeting from Latte Love and some leaves from Autumn to Remember.  The ribbon is retired; I almost never buy ribbon anymore because I don't use it a whole lot, but lately I've been dipping into the retired ribbon stash.  Soft Suede taffeta worked pretty well on this card I thought.

Here's the Just Add Ink inspiration challenge that I started with:

I took the colors Old Olive, Copper Clay, and Peach Pie from the picture, plus the nature images and cozy feel and that's what I started with for my cards.  And like I said, I'm just having too much fun with the Atlantic Hearts sketch:

This time I tried to stay very close to the sketch instead of making it more CAS, so I've got lots of layers and patterns happening on both my cards.  Here they are together:

I do love me some fall cards : )  That's all I've got for today, peeps.  Have a great weekend!  I'm planning to make a chai spice swirl bundt cake today and call it coffee cake so we can have it for breakfast tomorrow.  Cheers!

Thoughts of Autumn

Happy Friday and guess what, today I only have a single card to share.  Whaaaat. I should make another one : )  But for now, here's my card:

I tried to resist, but in the end I bought Autumn to Remember, which is one of the stamp sets that coordinate with the CTMH stuff that SU! now has under their umbrella.  Here's this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

I thought the different sized leaves would work well for the circles on the sketch.  And here's this week's Color Throwdown:

I used Peach Pie (again), Basic Beige, and Pecan Pie for my colors, but I kinda want to have another go at this and use Peach Pie with Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.  Anyway, the entire DT made cards in honor of Barbara Anders, and so I chose a thinking of you sentiment for my card.  Wishing comfort to Barb's family.
