Flower Lineup

Mornin' y'all!  We have family visiting us for a few days this week, but I made cards ahead of time so I would still have stuff to post here.  Wouldn't want ya'll to think I forgot about you : )

So here is my card for today:

I pulled yet another stamp set out of my To Sell? boxes for today's card, I've hardly ever used Pressed Flowers but it seemed like the stamp set for the job when I saw the Inspired By... Challenge:

I decided to switch out the first color for Rococo Rose, but kept Lost Lagoon and Darling Duckling for the other two colors.  I did a deep dive in my patterned paper hoard in yet another attempt to Just Use The Paper and found a nice light woodgrain pattern to go behind my colorblock flowers.  And there's MORE ribbon, though this Basic Gray taffeta has been in my collection for quite a while.

Well, I'm off to entertain our guests, y'all have a great day!

Floral Sympathy

Mornin' y'all!  As I mentioned yesterday, I made two cards for the current SUO Challenge.

This was actually the first card I made:

I needed a sympathy card, so I decided to use Pressed Flowers, one of the host sets in the back of the catalog.  It's easy to forget about those stamp sets, isn't it?  I used Fresh Fig, Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede, and Pear Pizzazz for the colors on this one, and Very Vanilla for the main panel.  When I made the card I shared yesterday, my goal was to make something with the same layout as this one, but with a completely different feel.  I think it worked pretty well :)

Anyway, it's time to get some breakfast so Ryan and I can hit up the gym again today.  Hope you have a great day, peeps.  Cheers!

Grrr, Arrgh

Ya know, sometimes I just have an off day in the craft room when nothing seems to turn out quite like I want it, and that's happened to me two days in a row this week.  Maybe because I've been working at night instead of in the afternoon during kiddo's naptime?  I don't know, but I hope it sorts itself out soon because I'm just not happy with today's card.

I liked the color and sketch challenges I used (I'll get to those in a minute), but my card just isn't wowing me.  Well, not every card can be my favorite, right?  The floral image is from the hostess set Pressed Flowers, which reminds me of the very old Art of Life (I was sure I had used that stamp set at least once, but I couldn't find it in my archives) and this card is its maiden voyage.  Perhaps its second journey will be a bit better.

Here's the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge:

And the Inkspire Me color challenge:

I think those would be great Christmas colors.

That's it for me today, y'all.  Have a great Friday!
