No Tricks, All Treats

Midnight greetings, spooky friends!  Sadly we are in the last stretch of October but I plan to enjoy it as much as possible.  So let's take a look at tonight's Halloween card:

The Spooky Sweet DSP is definitely doing all the heavy lifting on this card, I just trimmed a piece for the background and the flamingo ballerina (flamingarina?) is one of the punch-outs from another piece of the paper.  As you've probably guessed, I based this one on a CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch:

I have a LOT of really beautiful patterned papers from SU! and this sketch is an easy, fast way to really show off a pretty paper.  Gotta love a quick option sometimes, right?

Stay spooky, pals!

A Trail of Bats

Mornin' y'all!  I did get a lot of stuff done yesterday (there are three pumpkin cakes sitting on my kitchen island right now) and I made a few cards too so today will be another double-post day.  I'm particularly excited about one card but I won't be sharing it for a little bit as it's for a design team : )

In the meantime, even though we still don't have our Halloween decorations out in the front yard, I do have a Halloween card to share:

Here's this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

At first I was thinking of doing a trail of leaves, but I saw the bats in the Spooky Halloween stamp set and decided to go with that instead.  I added a few of the die-cut bats from the Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP as well as a few foam stars and done.

Check back later for my second card today, right now it's time for me to get my workout done.  Cheers!

Witchy Kitty

Happy Sunday, y'all!  I just introduced the spawn to Toaster Strudel for the first time.  He was skeptical at first, but now he's on his second one so I think it's a hit with him : )

So anyway.  Have you ever seen a random color combination and thought, "I wonder if I can turn that into a Halloween card"?

Just me?

Well, I saw the Color Dare challenge:

It's not obviously Halloween-y, but my brain kept saying witch kitty and then this happened:

What do you think, does it work?  Miss Kitty herself is stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and then colored with blends, and I found Pretty Peacock glimmer paper in my stash from last year or the year before, and I got the layout from the CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch from a couple weeks ago:

The greeting stamp is  one long line, so I stamped it out and then snipped it in half.

That's it for now, peeps.  We're trying to figure out how to paint the very high reaches of our entryway today, so wish us luck.  Cheers!

A Sketchy Duo for SUO Challenges

Mornin' y'all!  It's time for a new challenge at SUO Challenges!

And it's one of my favorites, a SKETCH!

Oh who am I kidding, I love color challenges and inspo challenges and all kinds of challenges.  So let's see what I did with the sketch:

I made this card with a cute Halloween duo and then found out that my teamie Tammy had made a similar card with the same DSP, and since I like to be different I made a second card at the eleventh hour:

I looked at everyone else's cards before I made this one to make sure I didn't duplicate anything else : )  I started out with the larger drinks on there but just couldn't make them work, so I had to cut out some smaller drinks.  Who knew that Scenic Adventure would pair so well with the Celebratory Sips DSP?  Well, me, since I've done it a couple of times, ha!

We hope you'll join us over at the SUO Challenges blog with your own sketchy creations.  Or if you're extra inspired, multiple sketchy creations.  Have fun!
