An Apple a Day

Mornin' y'all!  Daphne is ensconced on the oversize chair near me where she can look out the window and she just looks so comfy and content : )  And cute, of course.  Pretty soon she'll start poking at me to take her for a walk so I'm going to enjoy the tranquillity while it lasts.

I did a whole lot of apple cards in September but that didn't stop me from making one more yesterday.

Give Thanks is a sweet little stamp set from many moons ago and I love it.  This year I have embraced using more of my retired stamps and other supplies instead of feeling like I *have* to have all the new things that come out.  Anyway, I used a stamp with multiple leaves on it to stamp the Cherry Cobbler cardstock strip but it's not showing up that well on the photo.  Just gives an extra bit of texture.

Thought I'd have another go at the As You See It theme, I had done a pumpkin card already so we had to do apples so I can represent the top two Thanksgiving pies in our house : )

Here's the CASE-ing Tuesday sketch I used:

That challenge is not just for Halloween cards anymore ; )  And last up is the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge:

I stamped the main image and the greeting in Secret Sea and I discovered while coloring the image that I need to replace my Pool Party Blends.  I also need to replace the Soft Sea Foam Blends and I just recently got new sets for Mossy Meadow and Shaded Spruce.  Bit annoying, that.

Anyway, I did five loads of laundry yesterday but I need to do at least one more today.  I have a few more things to do but the first on the list is taking our sweet Daphne out for her walk.  Cheers!

Pail of Apples

Mornin' y'all!  I'm in an apple mood this weekend--made apple cobbler last night for dessert and then apple crumb muffins this morning for breakfast.  And an apple card to share today!

Breaking out another old retired set for this one, it's called Give Thanks.  And this is a multi-challenge card, starting with Just Add Ink:

I used the leaf stamp for some foliage and Sweet Sorbet baker's twine for string.  Next up is Inkspirational:

Had some fun with my Stampin' Blends so that counts for this challenge!  Now how about Inspired By...:

The metal bucket in the inspo pic made me think of the stamp image with the apples in a metal pail, so that's how I chose my stamp set.  Last up is Festive Friday:

Thought I'd give this challenge another whirl and take my time with it this time, since last time I paired it with a speed stamping challenge.  This time I used fruity colors, twine, gingham, scalloped edges, and fruit.  Some of the supplies overlap with the first card I made for this, but why change it if it works? ; )

That's it for me today, peeps.  Cheers!

Friday Flashback: Baby Bundle

Welcome to another Friday Flashback!  This week's featured retired stamp set is Baby Bundle, so of course today's Flashback will be heavy on the baby projects :)  Ready, set, Flashback!

Another layout from baby books gone by, this one for my friend Sarah whose daughter was born on Halloween, hence the pumpkins in the upper right (which is from the set Give Thanks).

Sometimes I get asked to make a keepsake baby shower invitation for a mommy-to-be since people nowadays seem to do online invites instead.  The sentiment is from Warm Words.

This gonzo sketch was most definitely not my idea, it was for a Dare to Get Dirty challenge a couple years ago.  I think the pink and orange looked better IRL...the words are from Nursery Necessities.

Another keepsake baby shower invite, also using Paisley for the background.

Well, that Flashback was really, really pink.  So here's a change of pace!

This card was in the mail and on its way to its destination about two hours after I made it, which is probably a record for me.  I thought Tempting Turquoise might be gender-neutral, though maybe it could be construed as "boy"...these parents don't know the baby's sex yet but I can't seem to do gender-neutral baby cards.  Partially because I was using another old SCS color challenge.

So there you have it, thanks for joining me on today's Friday Flashback.  Have a great weekend!

Supplies, last card only:
Stamps:  Baby Bundle, Confetti
Ink:  Going Gray, Basic Gray, Tempting Turquoise
Paper:  Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, retired Tempting Turquoise DSP
