I Like Zinnias

Mornin' y'all!  I keep telling myself that one of these days I will finally ink up a couple of new (and at the moment, still current) stamp sets, but...today is not that day.  Ha!

Simply Zinnia is another floral set that I thought about using for the Paper Players challenge, so it came to mind immediately when I saw the TGIF Challenges sketch:

Which I paired with the Retro Rubber color challenge:

Simply Zinnia is two years old, so not as retro as I usually go but it still counts.  I used Bubble Bath, Mossy Meadow, Berry Burst, and Granny Apple Green, though the Berry Burst is photographing a bit darker than it looks in person.  I don't use Berry Burst very often so I really wanted to give it a shot and it seemed to be the best darker pink to go with Bubble Bath.  I chose the sentiment purely because it was the first one I came across that fit in the die cut I wanted to use...it's not retro, but everything else is!

That's it for me today, peeps.  Cheers!

Doubly Regal

Hey y'all, and happy last day of 2024!  I am ready for this year to be done with and hope that 2025 is a bit kinder.  And right now we're going to focus on the positive, like how I got some craft room time today and made not one, but two cards.

There's the first one, and here's the second:

The challenge graphic from TGIF Challenges made me think of Regal Flora and I had to ink it up at least one more time before it's retired.  Here's the challenge:

And here's the CASE-ing Tuesday challenge which is based on Facebook:

I was using scraps of the Regal Winter DSP (I love this DSP so much, I bought a second pack even though I still have quite a bit of the first pack left), and I couldn't decide if I wanted the fancy floral pattern to be the big square or the smaller square, so I did both.

What do you think?  I'm partial to the purple but that tracks for me : )

I need to take Daph out for her walk, usually we go in the morning so she's been very patient, and then I need to go to the store and pick up some extra tortillas because we only have one tortilla and it's Taco Tuesday.  Cheers!

Unbounded Zinnias

So yesterday, the hubs and I were in my craft room which also doubles as the computer gaming room because it's where hubs has his laptop, and I said, "Hummingbird, zinnias, or lavender?" and he was very confused.  But he chose zinnias and that's what's on my card today:

Do zinnias come in shades of purple?  Doesn't matter, because in my craft room they do!  I did the plant side of the Paper Players theme challenge:

I already have an animal card made so that will be tomorrow : )  I had to post this one first because I wanted to make sure I could enter at the Just Add Ink color challenge:

I used all three colors of purple/berry to color the zinnias and Shaded Spruce for the stems.  The card base is Fresh Freesia, the scrap of Unbounded Beauty DSP is Petunia Pop, and the "thanks" sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst.  I know I'll need some thank you cards coming up here with people helping out around the hubs' surgery tomorrow.

It's about time to get Ryan in the car and off to school.  Cheers, y'all!

Zinnia Thanks

Hey y'all, what day is it again?  We are in full Summer Mode here and time has no meaning...well it will next week when Ryan has soccer camp, but for this week we're not keeping track ; )  I'm still spending as much time in my craft room as I can before we move, so here's my latest creation:

It took a little while for me to warm up to the Simply Zinnia bundle and I thought I would be able to resist buying it, but I kept seeing so many great things made with it by other stampers and I am so glad it is now a part of my hoard.  I thought it was a good match for the Sunday Stamps color challenge:

I used Lost Lagoon, Peach Pie, Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop, and Berry Burst for the colors, and I paired that with the fun sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

I put a small sentiment block in the place of the bow on the sketch as I don't have any ribbony things that match the colors on the card.  I've used Petunia Pop on a scrapbook layout, but this was the first time I have tried out Peach Pie so that was fun.  And I busted out the new Unbounded Beauty DSP too.  The just-retired set of In Colors (Starry Sky et al) are my favorite set ever, but this new set is making a good case for itself too.  I do love me some bright colors.

That's it for me today, peeps.  I'm off to work on a stack of I think nine scrapbook layouts?  My goal is to finish those up before I have to start prepping things for the move next week, and I have a few more design team cards to make too.  Time grows short but that's okay because it means that this year-long deployment is almost over!  Woo!

Radiant Zinnias

Mornin' y'all!  I had a busy day yesterday but I started it off with some retail therapy :D  I placed a big fat new catty order with SU! and for the first time EVER I sprang for the 2-day shipping so my new goodies get here tomorrow.  Woooooo!  Yeah, I've been a demonstrator for 19 years I think and this is the first time I've done speedy shipping.  I realized this morning that I neglected to put the very colorful Full of Life DSP on my order, so perhaps I will go back and pick up one or two other things in a week or two.

In the meantime, I'm still playing with some relatively new goodies!

Now THAT'S a bright and cheery card, am I right?  I used the fun sketch from Sunday Stamps:

And the hot color combo from Cupcake Inspirations:

I used Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie, and Poppy Parade, and I hope they won't mind I also used Parakeet Party for the stems and leaves.  The Radiating Stitches dies added some fun detail, too, and I finished off with a few sequins.

Alright y'all, I got a good night's sleep last night (finally!) so I am ready to tackle some fun projects today.  Cheers, y'all!

Pink Zinnia

Hey, look at me back with another card already.  Had to dust off my craft table.

I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

And the Color Throwdown:

I used Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, and Daffodil Delight for my colors, which seemed perfect to ink up my brand-new Simply Zinnia stamp set.  I used a sentiment from Latte Love just because I didn't need a thank you card at the moment and I like that greeting.  The Bee Mine DSP from the Occasions catalog made a nice background for my bright flower, and I accented with a few Melon Mambo sequins.

Have a great day y'all.
