Pumpkin Joy

Mornin' y'all, how goes the week?  I told Ryan we have to go run some errands today and he's not too happy about it, but we're going anyway : )  That's what he gets for being on fall break, I can't do grocery shopping when he's at school.  Ha!

Anyway, I got some time in my craft room yesterday to play along with some challenges.

I've got a mix of stamp sets happening today to go with the fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

And I love this week's palette from The Color Throwdown:

I used Summer Splash, Pumpkin Pie, and Mossy Meadow for my colors, with some Crumb Cake for a neutral background.  For the three panels, I was able to scrounge up some scraps in each of the challenge colors and put them on white die cut from the Perennial Postage dies.  I ended up with the sentiment from Merriest Trees because it fit in the die cut I wanted to use : )

Well, my cuppa tea is almost empty so I think I shall go brew another one.  And then my hubs just sent me a request for a card for someone at his work, so I'll be working on that.  Cheers, y'all!

SUO Challenges Is On The CASE!

 Happy Tuesday y'all and it's SUO Challenges day!

And here's our challenge:

We are CASEing page 34 of the holiday catalog! This is the card I chose to CASE:

And then, because I am an overachiever, I had to CASE it two different ways.  First of all, I chose to CASE the layout and switched out the stamps and colors to make this:

I probably would not have put Pretty Peacock, Peach Pie, and Pretty in Pink together on my own, but they're all in the Lily Pond Lane DSP and actually worked for this stamped image from Warms My Heart.

For my second card, I kept the same stamps as the inspiration pic (because I love Regal Flora), and even stamped the images in the same colors, but I switched up the card layout and used different patterned papers to make this:

I arranged the stamped flowers and greenery the same way they are on the original card and kept Blackberry Bliss for the main color on the bottom of the card, but with a different layout.  What do you think?  There's two different ways to approach CASEing the same card.

Hey Pumpkin

Second post of the day and I feel better now that I've made something orange for the start of October : )  And also I've had two cups of tea and it's not even lunchtime yet.  Here's my quick little card:

The pumpkins are from Playful Ghosts, which I tried really hard not to get but here it is, and Warms My Heart, which I have had fun playing with a couple of times already.  I used the color challenge just posted to CAS Colours & Sketches:

In general, I am *Not A Fan* of Wild Wheat, so I figured my best bet was to use it as little as possible, ha!  So I used the dark Wild Wheat Blend for the pumpkin stems and the light one for the ground under the pumpkins, plus a single Wild Wheat Faux Glass Dot for an accent.

This card also works for the Paper Players challenge:

This time I went right down the center with patterned paper (just a scrap of Countryside Inn), die cuts, and fall.  The fun part of tic-tac-toe challenges is how many different directions you can spin the same board.

Okay, I really do need to do some actual work now getting some things ready to sell.  And later today I am hoping to start a new Halloween cross stitch project, so I'd better get that work done.  Cheers, y'all!

Apple Picking

It's not quite 6 a.m. here and we've already had an exciting morning.  We just had our shower floor replaced and this morning was the first time we've used it since then...it doesn't drain.  At all.  The contractor must have put some kind of plug in it and forgotten to take it out before he finished.  So 10 minutes after the hubs got out of the shower, we noticed a dripping sound...the water was coming through the ceiling to downstairs.  So we grabbed a bucket and bailed 3-4 giant buckets of water out of there as fast as we could, put down towels to get the rest, and there's still water slowly dripping through the light fixture downstairs.  Oh, and today is the day we *finally* have the hubs' initial appointment at the neurosurgery clinic and hopefully get a date for his brain surgery.  When it rains, it pours...but it should NOT rain inside the house.

Anyway, on a brighter note, I got to play with some new stamps and here is my very first card with my holiday catalog stuff:

Still with the apple theme : )  I used this week's color challenge from the Paper Players:

I used Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Azure Afternoon, and the Tinsel Gems are Blueberry Bushel but I thought they worked here.

I'm also entering this at Shopping Our Stash, where the theme is using something that you have a lot of and yet keep buying more of and yep, guilty over here.  I have literally hundreds of stamp sets (I can think of at least seven other apple-related stamp sets in my collection without trying hard) and thousands of sheets of patterned paper, but for the card I made today, I used one of my brand new stamp sets and a brand new DSP stack.  I also got three new types of embellishments in that order, though I used some Tinsel Gems I already had for this card ; )

Okay, I'm hoping that we have exhausted all of our bad luck for today and that we can get this shower thing fixed ASAP.  Not to mention getting the hubs' brain fixed as well.  Positive vibes would be appreciated, y'all.
