A Relaxing Cuppa

Mornin' y'all!  Once again I'm a little late getting my act together, but today it's because I was browsing the preorder for the next SU! catalog and online exclusives.  Not a lot of stamp sets are tripping my trigger, but that's not necessarily a bad thing since I'll be getting the new In Colors in ink and cardstock.

In the meantime, I do have a lot of stamp sets already so let's see what I made for today:

I made this for the Cupcake Inspirations challenge:

Such a fun prompt!  I could have gone for books (I do have book stamps and I read every single day), or cross stitching (but I don't have any stitching stamps), or paper crafting (which would have been meta, and I don't really have paper crafting stamps either).  In the end I went with a nice, relaxing cuppa tea because that is definitely one of my favorite things!  I just finished a cuppa in fact (tiger eye from Adagio Teas).  I had to dig up the relax sentiment from the retired Timeless Tropical stamp set to go with it and I thought the color combination from Creative Colour Challenges struck the perfect soothing vibe:

That's it for now, y'all.  It's another gorgeous day and Ryan is going to help me train Daphne off leash in the green space behind our house.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Everyday Details, Timeless Tropical
Ink:  Versamark, Basic Gray, Lost Lagoon, Soft Sea Foam
Paper:  Lost Lagoon, Basic Gray, Thick Basic White, Soft Sea Foam DSP
Accessories:  Everyday Details dies, clear EP, Dimensionals, Share What You Love Artisan Pearls (it's actually Tranquil Tide, but it worked well enough with Lost Lagoon), pearls

Everyday Tea

Hey y'all, this week is off to a bit of a rough start as I started not feeling well yesterday afternoon.  Ryan was kind enough to let me lay down after I picked him up from school and while I feel better now than I did then, I am still planning to take it easy today.  Maybe snuggle Daphne on the chofa and watch Criminal Minds while I enjoy my morning cuppa.

I did make one little card yesterday though.

I got Everyday Arches in my last SU! order and this time I paired it with Everyday Details.  Let's get to the challenges, starting with Inspire. Create.:

And the Creative Colour Challenge:

I inked up the teacup image with Versamark and Moody Mauve, then embossed with clear embossing powder so I could watercolor the image without the colors running.  I think I should have gotten the leaves a little bit darker with Coastal Cabana, but I promise that's what I used.

Next up is Addicted to CAS:

This seemed like the perfect opportunity to use one of the arched sentiments from Everyday Arches and then put something in the middle of it.  I chose the teacup partly because it has a flower, so I can also enter this at CAS on Friday where the challenge is flowers.

That's it for me today, peeps.  I'm going to go rest for a little bit before I take Daphne for her daily tour of the neighborhood.  At least it's warming up a tad, by which I mean the high temperature for the day is above freezing ; )  Have a good day, y'all.

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Everyday Details, Everyday Arches
Ink: Versamark, Moody Mauve, Petal Pink, Coastal Cabana
Paper:  Petal Pink, Thick Basic White
Accessories:  Clear EP, Dimensionals, In Color Glitter Dot

Bright Snapdragons

Mornin' y'all!  I have an extra card this week.  Yesterday's Sweet Peas card was actually the second one I made for the Freshly Made Sketches and Colour Throwdown challenges, here's the first one:

The Pretty in Pink just kinda looks a little muted or dirty on the snapdragons and I wasn't sure I liked it when I finished with it, so I made the Sweet Peas card.  Here's the sketch again:

And the colors:

I used the exact same shades as yesterday, Lemon Lolly, Pretty in Pink, and Shy Shamrock, plus a fair bit of Night of Navy for contrast.

If the hubs is feeling good enough, we might head out to a local farmers' market after breakfast, so I'm going to go make some eggs.  Cheers, y'all!

Ink:  Pretty in Pink, Shy Shamrock, Night of Navy
Paper:  Pretty in Pink, Thick Basic White, Night of Navy DSP, Lighter than Air DSP Stack

On the Diagonal

Mornin' y'all!  We had some exciting news yesterday at Ryan's taekwondo studio...the guy who runs the place will be doing his 7th degree black belt test soon, and a big part of the test is how he teaches students.  So he is asking students at each learning level to be a part of his test, and Ryan is one of just two kids in his class to be asked to participate!  Honestly I think I might be more excited about it than Ryan is.  We were already planning to go watch just because we wanted to see what was involved at a belt test at that level.  So in a couple of weeks, Ryan will get to help with it!

Anyway, I spent some quality time in the craft room yesterday, finished three scrapbook layouts, and made this card:

Here's the color challenge from Color Throwdown:

I used Smoky Slate, Berry Burst, and Lost Lagoon for my colors (plus a tiny bit of Bubble Bath for the smaller flowers).  I had to ponder for a bit to choose a stamp set to go with them, but in the end I went with a vase like in the inspo pic.  Here's this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

I must admit, I did NOT like this sketch at first glance.  I think I even made a face.  I had no idea what to do with it...so imagine my surprise when I ended up with a card that I like!  That's what makes it a challenge, I suppose!  I added one more challenge too, courtesy of Just Add Ink:

Sparkly things are notoriously hard to photograph, but I have Wink of Stella on the larger flowers, then Tinsel Gems in their centers, and if that's not enough, I added some Shiny Sequins on the diagonal.  Also I think that greeting stamp from Latte Love is my favorite stamp in the whole set : )  I need to get some cards out in the mail today.

Gotta go get the kiddo off to school.  And then I'm hoping my SU! order shows up early rather than later this afternoon.  Cheers, y'all!

Papaya Herbal Tea

Happy Friday, y'all!  And today is extra happy, we're picking up the hubs at the airport this morning and we haven't seen him since Christmas.  And we get him for a whole week!  All of us are ready for this deployment to be over, but at least we're over 2/3 there now.

Anyway, here's my card for today:

I won't lie, I was initially stumped when I saw the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, but then I had the idea to break out my retired Watercolor Shapes stamp set and sponge ink on the circle to make a more CAS background for my card.  Everything else just kinda followed from there.  Here's the sketch:

And I used this week's Color Throwdown:

I used Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, and Very Vanilla for my colors, though looking at this again I kinda wish I'd gone with Petal Pink.  Well, the Pale Papaya works fine, even if it's a bit more orange than the inspo pic.

Have a great day, y'all!

Ink:  Pale Papaya, Pecan Pie, Soft Succulent, Stampin' Blends in Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Ivory

Brighter Day Botanical

Mornin' y'all!  Well, I got my SU! order yesterday...only to discover I had ordered a stamp set but not the punch to go with it, and I did NOT order the baker's twine like I thought I did...oops.  Might have to order some other stuff before the end of Sale-a-Bration...anyway, I went out to lunch with my parents yesterday and then my dad hung out at the house until his volunteer shift with the police department started (he does patrols and does things like help motorists with car trouble, directs traffic, keeps people out of the fire lane at Walmart, that kind of thing).  So in the end I had barely an hour to unpack all my new goodies and make a card.  My alarm went off to pick up Ryan when I was still working on coloring in my main image for today's card:

It's flowers, but I think the navy blue would make it appropriate for a guy or a gal.  Lovely & Sweet was one of the new stamp sets I got yesterday!  Everyday Details was in my January order but I hadn't used it yet either; the sentiment was a good fit for this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

I'm hoping I can enter the challenge this week, last week I tried to enter my link for three days straight and kept getting an error message.  As is my habit, I combined the sketch with the Color Throwdown:

I used Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, and Pecan Pie.  I like these colors together, I should make another card when I have a bit more time.

Today is shaping up to be busy again; my car is going back to the shop, I'm going to hang out with my dad while the car is at the shop, and then Ryan has taekwondo this afternoon *and* they want to try him in a weapons class.  I told him if it was nunchucks I was 10000000% calling him Michaelangelo.  Cheers!
