Spring Bunny

Mornin' y'all.  It's Ryan's first day back at school after two weeks of spring break so naturally there was drama this morning.  He wanted to take in a 3D printed plane to show his friends at school, but it fell off his backpack as I was moving it and a piece broke off and he is Big Mad at me about it.  We tried to glue the piece back on but I think the hubs will have to fix it tonight.  Sigh.

Anyway, I am going to enjoy the quiet while he's at school and I have a spring card to share today.

Believe it or not, I hit three challenges with this CAS card, starting with Inkspirational:

The stamp I used on the bunny actually says "my friend" but that didn't fit as well so I only stamped the second word.  Next up is the Festive Friday challenge:

I hit purple, pink, yellow, bunny, and flowers (there are flowers on the Pretty in Pink DSP scrap I punched out).  Not bad!  Finally is the AAA Cards Challenge:

It's like a scaled-down tic-tac-toe, so you do the middle bubble and one of the outside bubbles.  I chose pets and figured that a punch was the easiest way to do a silhouette.  I actually had a pet rabbit when I was a kid, her name was Candy.

I'm very pleased to report that I worked on scrapbook pages yesterday!  I have a layout that's about 90% done and like six other ones that need journaling, that was where I stopped the last time I scrapped.  So maybe I'll get all of those done today.  The next set of pictures I have to scrap are some of my very favorites so I am excited to jump back in.

That's it for now, peeps.  Try to stay out of the Easter candy ; )

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Easter Friends
Ink:  Fresh Freesia
Paper:  Lemon Lolly, Fresh Freesia, Pretty in Pink DSP
Accessories:  bunny punch, 2 1/2" circle punch, Dimensionals, Rainbow Dots

Lovey Bee

Mornin' y'all!  I got up this morning and looked out the window and it's all white--we have some thick fog and yet again we got white stuff falling from the sky last night.  The hubs called it snail because it was a cross between snow and hail...I thought we were done with that for this spring!  I let Daph out this morning and she is Very Excited that there's a doggo in the yard next door to us--I don't know if he's a new neighbor or if he's just visiting, but she really wants to go out there and talk to him.

Anyway, I do have a card to share today and once more I've cut into some new DSP.  Here it bee:

I love the addition of Petunia Pop to the bee papers, Cute as Can Bee is a redux of Bee Mine that had a lot of Petal Pink and Sweet Sorbet in it.  I used the most recent sketch from CASE-ing Tuesday Sketches:

Here's the catalog inspiration:

I don't have that die set with the diamond shape, so I used the Nested Essentials dies for something similar.  I happened to have a scrap of Pretty in Pink glimmer paper on my craft table, so I punched out a few little hearts from that for accents.

That's it for now, kids.  I'm going to go make orange scones for breakfast.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Bee My Valentine
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Petunia Pop

California Oranges

Mornin' y'all!  The hubs took the past two days off work and we went glamping in Monument for one night.  It would have been really fun except that the hubs has a sinus infection and Ryan had an upset stomach and ended up tossing his cookies that evening, poor kid.  We'll have to try it again some other time.  Daphne did pretty well, she was off leash pretty much the whole time we were out there and pretty much only ignored me when she was supposed to stay at the tent with me instead of going exploring with the boys.  She had her second pro training session yesterday so we've got things to work on with her.

Anyway, I am continuing my quest to cut into some more DSP so here's my card for today:

The oranges are fussy cut out of the reverse side of that cool blue tile pattern I used in the background.  The green pattern and the navy stripes are from two different DSP packs but I think they all worked together pretty well, don't you?  I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

My parents were both born and raised in a California town surrounded by orange groves, so this will be going to them in the mail next week.  I've had the Mediterranean Blooms DSP for months and this is the first time I've used any of it.

Anyway, time for me to get off the computer and go do some things...first thing being to switch out my laundry.  Cheers, peeps!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Lovely & Sweet
Ink:  Night of Navy
Paper:  Boho Blue, Thick Basic White, Mediterranean Blooms DSP, Floral Delight DSP, Countryside Inn DSP

Yellow Floral Delight

Mornin' y'all!  I've got a sunny, happy card to share today:

At first I really wasn't sure what to do with this week's Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I decided to start with some DSP for the background and went from there.  I have a whole stack of 1/2" wide cardstock scraps on my craft table, but of course none of them were in the colors I needed to go with the DSP : p Then I had some technical difficulties in putting the card together--I glued down the DSP piece to the card base and then realized I needed to wrap the ribbon around it first, so I had to peel that up, and then I was like oh yeah the strips go under the ribbon too and really the ribbon and sentiment should have gone a bit lower but I didn't want to restick stuff again but I got there in the end.  Sometimes the creative process is just like that.  I added some low-profile gold dots to go with the metallic edging on the ribbon, but the pattern is so busy that you kinda have to look for them.  That's okay though, I know they're there.

That's it for now, y'all.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Motherhood Mottos
Ink:  Old Olive
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pool Party, Thick Basic White, Floral Delight DSP
Accessories:  Countryside Corners dies, Lemon Lolly sheer ribbon, Low Profile Dots, Dimensionals

Miss Your Face

Mornin' y'all!  Despite still going through Kleenex like crazy, I got up and did a workout this morning and the dishes are washed and now I'm sitting down to have a little breakfast and look at some blogs : )  And yesterday I made four cards so I'm pretty pleased about that.  Here's the first one I made:

My grumpy dragon card won the last Paper Players challenge, which just tickles me endlessly because I cackled the whole time I was making it and I'm sure my friend Krissy will laugh when she receives it in the mail.  I wanted to do something special for this Paper Players challenge:

You might notice that my relaxing tea card from earlier this week was done with the same sketch; I thought I could make something that I liked more than that and I ended up with this watercolor bird card.  I haven't used the Full of Life DSP Stack very much, I think because it's hard to work it into color challenges and some of the patterns I just don't know what to do with.  So since I'm only doing a sketch this time around, I started with the watercolory pattern and watercolored my bird to match.  The bird and sentiment are both stamped in Shaded Spruce ink but I just inked up my ink pad so it's extra dark.  The bird is Berry Burst and Daffodil Delight kinda blended together, with a bit of Granny Apple Green for her to stand on.

That's it for now, peeps.  Have a great day!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Bird's Eye View, Saying Hey
Ink:  Versamark, Shaded Spruce, Daffodil Delight, Berry Burst, Granny Apple Green
Paper:  Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Daffodil Delight, Thick Basic White, Full of Life DSP Stack

Easter Bunnies

Mornin' y'all!  I've just been helping Ryan with his research project, which means that I too am learning about George Washington.  But here I am with a card today!

I was in my craft room yesterday and just could NOT settle down to make anything until I found this carrot paper in the Fruit Salad DSP from the recent Sale-a-Bration.  That made me think of this adorable Ears to You stamp (the three bunnies and the sentiment are all a single stamp) to use with the As You See It sketch:

I stamped the bunnies in Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, and Petunia Pop so today's card is brought to you by the letter P.  And my bunnies fit in with the Inspire. Create. challenge:

And since I reached way back in the archives for today's featured stamp, I'm entering this at Retro Rubber:

Ears to You debuted in March of 2013 so it is 12 years old, I think that qualifies as pretty retro.  And hopefully this card has kickstarted my mojo so that I can make something else in my craft room today.  I'm about to go find out.  Cheers, y'all!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Ears to You
Ink:  Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, Petunia Pop, Granny Apple Green

A Relaxing Cuppa

Mornin' y'all!  Once again I'm a little late getting my act together, but today it's because I was browsing the preorder for the next SU! catalog and online exclusives.  Not a lot of stamp sets are tripping my trigger, but that's not necessarily a bad thing since I'll be getting the new In Colors in ink and cardstock.

In the meantime, I do have a lot of stamp sets already so let's see what I made for today:

I made this for the Cupcake Inspirations challenge:

Such a fun prompt!  I could have gone for books (I do have book stamps and I read every single day), or cross stitching (but I don't have any stitching stamps), or paper crafting (which would have been meta, and I don't really have paper crafting stamps either).  In the end I went with a nice, relaxing cuppa tea because that is definitely one of my favorite things!  I just finished a cuppa in fact (tiger eye from Adagio Teas).  I had to dig up the relax sentiment from the retired Timeless Tropical stamp set to go with it and I thought the color combination from Creative Colour Challenges struck the perfect soothing vibe:

That's it for now, y'all.  It's another gorgeous day and Ryan is going to help me train Daphne off leash in the green space behind our house.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Everyday Details, Timeless Tropical
Ink:  Versamark, Basic Gray, Lost Lagoon, Soft Sea Foam
Paper:  Lost Lagoon, Basic Gray, Thick Basic White, Soft Sea Foam DSP
Accessories:  Everyday Details dies, clear EP, Dimensionals, Share What You Love Artisan Pearls (it's actually Tranquil Tide, but it worked well enough with Lost Lagoon), pearls

Undersea Buddies

Mornin' y'all.  Once again I stayed up too late last night finishing a book : )  At this point, I'm pretty sure I will never learn my lesson on that score.

Anyway, I have a card to share today that I made last week and didn't post:

This was a super quick and simple card for the CASE-ing Tuesday Sketches challenge on Facebook:

And here's the original card from the mini catalog:

Anyway, I got up late today since it's the start of Ryan's second week of spring break, but we will be working on his research project later today.  And I need to go to the store...as soon as I figure out what we're having for dinner.  In the meantime, I'm going to do my workout and then take Daph out for a walk as it's going to be a beautiful day.  Cheers, y'all!

Dino Duo

Mornin' y'all.  I made sure to rest up and take it easy yesterday and I'm feeling better today, which is good because we're going to a thing this afternoon called Jurassic Quest that has dinosaurs.  Coincidentally, my card for today has dinosaurs too:

Polly and Trudy are hanging out together, aww.  I used the Sunday Stamps sketch:

And the Color Throwdown colors:

I used Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, and Shaded Spruce for my colors, and once we get the living room painted that's more or less the colors of the downstairs part of our house.  Yes, my kitchen is a soft lime green with dark green accents; the living area will be pale blue with a darker blue accent wall.  I have splotches on all the walls to test out the colors, we're just waiting for me and the hubs to be healthy at the same time to start painting the living room.

That's it for me today, peeps.  I'm off to look at dinosaurs.  Cheers!

Non-Halloween Butterflies

Mornin' y'all.  I have definitely come down with another cold and I feel like I am single-handedly keeping the companies that make Kleenex and Dayquil/Nyquil in business.  Ugh.  But I do have a happy card to share today.

The Creative Colour Challenge this week screamed Halloween to me, so I challenged myself to make a non-Halloween card with the colors:

And this week's CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch made me think of butterflies:

Here's the catalog inspiration:

I used a pattern from the Refreshed Beauty DSP for my card background and kept the butterfly theme from the inspo pic.

And now I think it's time to go take a nap.  Cheers, y'all, and stay healthy out there.

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Sketched Butterflies

Serene Thoughts

Mornin' y'all.  I spent the last couple of days getting the house all nice and clean and now...I think I'm getting another cold.  Ugh.  After I write this up I've got to go to the store to get more DayQuil.

Anyway, my mom had a surgical procedure on Wednesday so I made a sweet, simple card to send her.

I love the mood board at Hand-Stamped Sentiments:

I chose Misty Moonlight and Petal Pink for my colors, with a bit of retired Seaside Spray for the leaves, and here's the Freshly Made Sketch I followed:

I just sponged some Petal Pink ink over the top of my flower image, easy peasy.  A couple of embellishments that I think are actually Boho Blue but they went well with the rest of the card.  I just realized this card is the first one I've made with Spotlight on Nature.  I've used the dies a few times but the last time I went to make a card with the stamps, I ended up scrapping it and doing something different.  So yay, the stamps finally got inked!  One of them, anyway.

Okay, I'm off to the store.  Cheers, and stay healthy, y'all!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Spotlight on Nature, Thoughtful Expressions
Ink:  Misty Moonlight, Petal Pink, Stampin' Blends in Petal Pink & Seaside Spray

Musical Badger

Mornin' y'all.  With Ryan on spring break this week (and next), I'm having trouble keeping track of what day it is, anyone else have that problem?  He's got a mini research project that we'll need to work on next week but this week he just gets to goof off : )

I spent a lot of the day yesterday reading or working on my stitching project, so I only made one card and this is it:

I hadn't used the badger yet from Musical Jamboree, so it's his time to shine thanks to the Festive Friday challenge:

Let's see, I got black, white, torn paper (well, I tore paper to use as a mask, does that count?), musical notes, the badger has stripes on his face, musical themed sentiment, and a musical instrument.  I have several other retired stamp sets I could have used for this challenge too, we'll see if I have time to circle back.

Check out this week's Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I tore a piece of scratch paper (I have a giant stack of scratch paper in my craft room and use it all the time) and used it as a mask to stamp the music notes and then sponge ink along the edges of the card front. Super simple technique but it always looks good.  Then I added my tambourine-playing badger, the sentiment, and a few faceted gems and it's done.  I think what took the longest was choosing a color combination and in the end I reused the Lemon Lime Twist and Lemon Lolly combo from yesterday's card.  Black and white go with just about everything, right?

I've got a bit of a headache but I'm going to go do dishes and mop the floor anyway.  Cheers, y'all.

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Musical Jamboree
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist, Stampin' Blends in Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist

Where I Want To Be

Mornin' y'all!  We pretty much had another blizzard (not the Dairy Queen kind) move through here last night, I kept waking up all night because the wind was so loud all around the house.  Last week the last of the snow had finally melted for one brief, shining moment (to borrow a line from Camelot) and now we're back to the backyard being mostly covered again.  Seems like the snow is done falling, but the wind is still kicking up.  I haven't looked in the front to see what the street looks like yet.  I'm just glad that I don't have to go anywhere today : )

Which leads me perfectly to today's card:

AAAAHHHHH I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS DRAGON!  Yep, we're going non-SU! for today's card, this dragon is from the set Grumpy Dragons by Whimsy Stamps and I am so tickled to have them in my collection, for I, too, am a grumpy dragon.  The greeting stamp is by The Ink Road and I love that too.  This card will be going to my pal Krissy who is just as introverted as I am.  I also got some T. Rex stamps in this same style so I need to make her more dino cards.

The Paper Players challenge this week gave me the perfect excuse to ink up this dragon for the first time:

And I used the colors from Color Hues:

I used Lemon Lolly and Lemon Lime Twist for the main colors, with some Granny Apple Green for the dragon's spines.  I found the black stripey paper in my stash and only had to trim about a quarter inch off the length to fit on my card.  I had so much fun making this.

Ooh, cinnamon rolls are ready to come out of the oven.  Cheers, peeps!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Grumpy Dragons by Whimsy Stamps, Roadies 52 by The Ink Road
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Blends in Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green

A Super Sketch from SUO Challenges

Good morning, stampy friends!  It's time for a new challenge from SUO Challenges!

And it's time for a fun sketch:

I thought this was a great time to use the Tune In bundle, so here's what I made:

My color choices were inspired by the Mystery Machine from the classic Scooby-Doo cartoon.  If I'd had Pumpkin Pie glimmer paper, I would have used that, but instead it's Peach Pie.  How fun is that Lemon Lime Twist TV?

Your turn!  Upload your SU! only creation at the SUO Challenges blog.  Have fun!  I think I'll turn on an episode of Scooby-Doo while I work in my craft room...

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Tune In
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Summer Splash, Smoky Slate Blends
Paper: Summer Splash, Smoky Slate, Thick Basic White, Lemon Lime Twist DSP, In Color Glimmer Paper
Accessories:  Tune In dies, In Color Shimmer Gems

Lucky Charms

Happy St. Patrick's Day, y'all!  I didn't mail out St. Paddy's Day cards until Saturday but I think it counts as on time as long as they went out before today : ) Here's what I made:

The Inspired By... pic reminded me of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP Stack so that's what I used.  The rainbow and cloud are fussy cut from sheets of the DSP and I used a third pattern for the Melon Mambo strip.  The greeting from Terrific Toadstools seemed like the perfect thing for this and now this card makes me think of a box of Lucky Charms.  I made four of these in pretty quick succession and I have some extra rainbows and clouds.

Here's the Inspired By... challenge:

Need to get my workout on and then take Daph out for a walk once the wind dies down a bit.  Then I have a couple more loads of laundry to do and bathrooms to clean, quite the glamorous day ahead for me.  Ha!  Cheers, y'all!

Tropical Hey

Mornin' y'all!  Well, it's morning for about 30 more minutes where I am.  The hubs is working this weekend, so I took Ryan out to a breakfast place this morning and then we went to Michaels so I could replace the embroidery floss that Daphne ate the other day (plus maybe get colors for two other projects because of course I did).  But here I am with a card!

Bringing back some retired goodies to go with the TGIF Challenges sketch:

Everything I used on my card is retired except the Thick Basic White cardstock and SU! was *gonna* retire that but everybody said don't take that away and so now it's staying.

I couldn't help but choose Artfully Layered and the coordinating Artfully Composed DSP to go with the Just Add Ink inspo pic:

This suite was my absolute faaaaavorite in 2022 and I still love to get it out every once in a while.  There are a couple of warm colors on the fabric on the chair so that's why I chose the Calypso Coral pattern for the hexagons.  Glad I got a second pack of the DSP so I can hoard that and actually use the first pack ; )  The only stamping is the greeting, I die cut a tropical leaf thing out of Just Jade cardstock and when all the interior bits stayed in place when I took it off my Big Shot, I decided to stick it down just like it was.

I have laundry going and I need to make up the guest room and do some tidying up around the house...but maybe I'll take Daphne out for a walk first.  Cheers, y'all!

Poppin' Up

Mornin' y'all!  I did not want to get up this morning but Daphne was ready at 5:15.  Need to teach this girl about Saturdays.  I did get back to sleep for a while and then the other kid wanted breakfast : )

Anyway, I've got another Terrific Toadstools card today!

I inked up my Fresh Freesia ink pad after I made the Sea Turtle card so then it took a couple of tries to get the cap on the toadstool to look how I wanted.  It always takes a bit of time for the ink to settle I think.

I'm entering this card at Freshly Made Sketches:

Not gonna lie, I kinda want to make another card without putting anything over the three panels on the sketch, we'll see if that happens today or tomorrow.  I think it would be fun with just DSP panels and a stamped greeting maybe.

Anyway, it's time to get my yoga on.  Cheers, y'all!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Terrific Toadstools
Ink:  Fresh Freesia, Pumpkin Pie, Gray Granite, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo
Paper:  Granny Apple Green, Thick Basic White, Toadstool Garden DSP Stack
Accessories:  Dimensionals, Shiny Sequins

Singing Coyote

Mornin' y'all, happy Friday.  Today's my last day with Ryan at school for the next two weeks, so I'd better make it count...so far I've fallen down a couple of rabbit holes online.  I started out shopping for my corgi-loving niece's birthday and somehow ended up looking at place mats with rubber ducks wearing sunglasses.  Might have to get those for my duck-loving kid.

Anyway, I've been looking forward to sharing today's card for the past couple of days, take a look:

I love this singing coyote!  I bet he's singing Home on the Range.  Seems like I use the sentiments from Musical Jamboree more often than the animal images, so I'm glad to have this dude take center stage on today's card.

I made this for the Inspire. Create. challenge:

And I used the colors from the Cupcake Inspiration challenge:

Yes, I used hot pink on a masculine card!  Just a little bit.  I chose Azure Afternoon, Melon Mambo, and Granny Apple Green for my colors, plus Crumb Cake for a neutral.  What do you think, did I make those colors work for a masculine card?

I had to fire Daphne from her job as my stitching assistant last night.  While I was in the bathroom, she got into my project container and ate a bunch of my thread.  I had to throw out three or four slimy skeins but I'm pretty sure she ate all the odd ends that were in there waiting to go in the trash when I finish my project.  Good thing the Daphinator starts school tonight...we have her first professional training session tonight.  In the meantime, I'm going to make sure I keep my thread containers closed.

I think I'm off the hook for walking Daph today too.  The wind is blowing pretty good and it's snowing (again).  I think 99% of the snow in the backyard had finally melted, so of course it's snowing again.  But I think the wind is too strong for it to stick much.  So I'm going to go work in my craft room and stay warm.  I just finished my second cuppa so I need to make more tea first...

Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
