Cocok's Toes 2010

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  Today's scrapbook layout is the very LAST of the Cocok's toe photos from when we lived in Japan, so if you're foot averse then that's good news for you :D

I always took photos of my friends' toes as well as my own when we got our super fancy pedicures, so the white circles have the initial of whichever friend those toes belong to (all the toes pointing upwards are mine, because that's how my toes look when I look down, heh).

These were all the toe photos for 2010 minus what I had on the Last Call at Cocok's layout.  Also, I'm glad I bought the Number of Years stamp set and matching Framelits, I've been using those and the coordinating (and still current) Letters for You alphabet pretty regularly since I bought them.

This was another layout that I did when I was on my Barely Banana streak, but this time I didn't pair it with Poppy Parade.  Today's color palette includes Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Cool Caribbean, Lavender Lace (looks funky in that palette picture), and Whisper White.  That Petals & Paisleys DSP (the Cool Caribbean polka dot strip) is one of the earliest DSP packs I ever bought from SU!  Actually a lot of things I used on this layout are pretty old, like the Simply Said stamp set.  This is why I hold onto stuff though, never know when it will turn out to be just the thing for a scrapbook layout.

I'm going to go tackle the mountain of leftover waffles from yesterday (I'm sure you feel sorry for me, haha!) and then tiny child and I are going to the gym.  Hopefully he won't lose his marbles like he did on Saturday; I didn't get to do yoga because I had to come get him when he wouldn't stop crying.  So here's hoping today is better.  Cheers!

Ink:  Pretty in Pink, Cool Caribbean, Lavender Lace

Springy Butterfly

Good afternoon, friends!  I had a big nasty headache yesterday, but this morning I managed to get a card made to share today.

For a wonder, the Wink of Stella on the butterfly actually shows up somewhat!  So of course the Soft Sky sponging behind the butterfly doesn't show up as well.  My springy colors are courtesy of Fab Friday:

And I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

Just for good measure, I'll enter this over at Retro Rubber as well:

Watercolor Wings is almost 3 years old (I got it in July of 2015); Orange Blossom isn't quite a year old yet and of course Beautiful Peacock (where I got the teeny flowers) was from this year's Sale-a-Bration so it's pretty much new.

Okay, kiddo is running riot and angry that I won't feed him any more goldfish so I'd best attend to him before he starts chasing Sadie around again.  Cheers!

Stamps:  Watercolor Wings, Orange Blossom, Beautiful Peacock
Ink:  Soft Sky, Night of Navy, Powder Pink, So Saffron

Fusion Coffee

Happy Friday, y'all!  Ryan and I are skipping the gym today because Sadie (our girl pup) wasn't feeling good this morning so I want to keep an eye on her.  And then I got on my cross stitch Facebook group and went down the rabbit hole of terrifically adorable patterns and wow, I need to learn how to not ever sleep so I can make all the things I want to make.  Not just stitching, but also stamping...I'm still working on the last bit of China pages and I've got ideas for everything that's left, it just takes me a while to get them all out of my brain and on paper!

But here's an idea I got on paper this week.

I know Hug in a Mug is retired now but I love it and I can't help using it when I see things like the Fusion challenge:

I did the sketch and I did a coffee mug, though I didn't use colors from the inspiration photo.  And it just now occurred to me, I used Pool Party as my blue but I think the patterned paper (also retired from the holiday catalog) actually has Soft Sky in it?  Oops.  But rejoice with me, friends--I painted the coffee mug with Wink of Stella and it actually SHOWS UP in the picture!  It's a papercrafting miracle!!

Peace, love, and happiness, y'all!

Peacock Pair

New TOYYYYYZZZZZ!!!! I got my Sale-a-Bration/Occasions catty order late Wednesday afternoon and the stamp set I couldn't wait to bust out first was the SAB set Beautiful Peacock.  I even made two cards with it!

Click to embiggen!  I used Shimmery White cardstock for these so they're SO pretty IRL (it's super overcast right now, can't take a better picture).  So check out this week's Color Throwdown:

Here's why I made two cards.  The write-up for this challenge called the colors navy, aqua, and pink, but to me they looked more like dark purple, aqua, and lighter purple.  So I made one card with Night of Navy, Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo (on the left), and the second card with Elegant Eggplant, Pool Party, and Sweet Sugarplum.  What do YOU think it looks like?

Also meet this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

I don't like having things extend past the card front because then you either have to make the card a little smaller to get it in an envelope or else use a nonstandard envelope size (and I don't have that envelope punch board thing).  So basically I made the sketch into a panel on my card and the rectangle extends to the edge of the card front but it still looks like the sketch.

Well, it's just about time to take the babe with me to the gym.  Cheers, y'all!
