Christmas Card Color Block 2017

Mornin' y'all!  How was your weekend?  I spent a good chunk of yesterday listing things on eBay, mostly duplicate Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books from my collection.  I've been meaning to do that for weeks, so it's nice to finally have it done.

I dropped Ryan off at school today, did the grocery shopping, and checked the mail on my way back to the house.  I hadn't checked it since last Thursday or Friday and we got three more Christmas cards over the weekend, so I thought today would be a good day to share again how I like to preserve photos and photo cards we get during the holiday season.

Today's layouts are from 2017, Ryan's first Christmas when he was 10 months old.  Look how ADORABLE he is in the top left corner!  I might be biased but it's also just facts, my kid is very cute.

I love having these layouts...there's my dear friend Beth in the middle, with the headset on.  She's been gone nearly two years now and her husband doesn't do Christmas cards or photos, so I cherish the ones I have.  And it's fun to see how my friends' kiddos grow and change every year.  The fam in the upper left corner now has two more members.  Maybe three?

Today's color palette is straight from the Quilted Christmas DSP Stack:  Blushing Bride, Real Red, Garden Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party, and Whisper White.  Quilt patterns are perfect with my patchwork layouts, am I right?

The Daphinator is Staring Me Down saying it's time I take her for a walk, so I'd better hurry up and finish my cuppa.  Have a great day, peeps.

Crazy Quilt

Mornin' y'all!  Once again, I stayed up way too late last night reading a book (I will never learn my lesson on that score), and then Daphne got me up to go outside somewhere around 4am and I just kinda started the day a bit discombobulated.  But Ryan is at his engineering camp until 3:30 this afternoon so I'm going to take Daph out for a walk as soon as I write this and then go work on some projects in my craft room.  Maybe do laundry.

So here's today's card:

Which I made for this week's Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I didn't worry about following the sketch exactly, I just built my collage with the scraps I had on hand and I could probably do three or four more cards just with the Bright & Beautiful DSP Stack because I have a lot of scraps of it.  This was a great way to use up the littlest scraps too, and the long skinny strips.  I had my card front all done and then I had to figure out what greeting to put on it...well, what would go better with a crazy quilt type card than a quilt-related sentiment?  And believe it or not I have two different stamp sets with quilty sentiments, so for this card I chose Christmas Quilt and a flower from that set.

Okay, Daphne is more than ready for her tour of the neighborhood so I'm going to go take her.  She does make sure I get out to enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather almost every day whether I want to or not...okay we didn't go yesterday because it was raining, but almost every day we go!  Cheers!

Christmas Quilt

Hey y'all!  Three red-and-green Christmas cards in a ROW here.  (Well, yesterday's was Christmas colors and had a Christmas tree on it, but it was really coffee-related...)  But let's just go with it.

This is the card I talked about yesterday that I was making with the Fab Friday color challenge in mind until I realized it was Emerald Envy in that color challenge and I used Garden Green on here (which is the dark green color in the Quilted Christmas DSP stack).

At least I got the Paper Players' sketch challenge right:

I'm also entering this at SUO Challenges, which is all about the winter holidays right now.

Well, I'm outta time this morning so that's it for me.  Cheers, y'all!
