Tub Time

Mornin' y'all!  We're having a bit of a lazy start today since Ryan doesn't have his regular school schedule; I've got to take him in later for an elementary assessment thing that will only last an hour and a half.  But tell that to Daphne, who has been telling me to get up and moving for an hour (even after she got fed her breakfast).  The concept of sleeping in is lost on dogs, probably because they can sleep anytime.  Lucky them.

Anyway, on to today's card!

I found that super cute stamp in my stash when I was looking for something for a different project, and I thought it would be perfect for this week's Paper Players challenge:

And would you believe that I had never used that stamp even though it's so cute?  I'm so glad the Paper Players gave me a reason to ink it up!  I also used the inspo list from the Festive Friday challenge:

I used black (the image and greeting are both stamped in black ink), yellow (Lemon Lolly), enamel dots, die cuts, and flowers--I chose that Fresh Freesia pattern because it made me think of wallpaper.  Also I tried blending the colors of the alcohol markers, does that count as ink blending?

Time to make Daph-Daph happy and do our daily walk.  Cheers!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Image from Whipper Snapper, sentiment from Blueberry Bunches (SU!)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Blends in neutrals, Lemon Lolly, Timid Tiger, Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, Bubble Bath
Paper:  Lemon Lolly, Fresh Freesia, Thick Basic White, Pool Party DSP, Lovely Garden DSP
Accessories:  Stylish Shapes dies, Rainbow Dots, Dimensionals, Wink of Stella

Blueberry Salutations

Hey y'all, happy Wednesday!  The hubs is back at work today and while we did enjoy checking out antique stores yesterday on a mini-road trip, I'm looking forward to having the house to myself when Ryan goes to school so I can spend some time in my craft room today ; )  I managed to make this card on Sunday in between other activities:

Check out the Paper Players challenge:

I chose Blueberry Bunches for my stamp set just because it was easy to find on my current stamps shelf, though I could easily do this challenge with a myriad of other fruit because I have quite a few fruity stamp sets on the shelves of retirement.  I paired this challenge with the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

To make it more CAS but keep the integrity of the sketch, I made a mask and sponged a square on my card base to cut down on the number of layers.  Then I die cut a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist DSP and layered my fussy cut blueberry bunch on top, et voilĂ !  One cute card that I'm sure will be going out in the mail pretty soon.  I have no fewer than 8 cards on my craft table right now that I'm going to write in and mail out today : )

That's it for me today unless I crank out a few more fruity cards after Ryan goes to school.  Have a great day, peeps!

Ink:  Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana, Stampin' Blends in Azure Afternoon, Blueberry Bushel, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green

Blueberry Picnic Birthday

Hey hey, y'all!  Well, I wasn't quite as productive yesterday as I was hoping to be, and today is probably going to be busy--Ryan has a couple of games at his soccer camp this morning that I'm going to watch, and then we're supposed to have lunch with my dad.  But that gives me most of the afternoon to get stuff done, so here's hoping.

Anyway, I did manage to take pictures of my scrapbook pages yesterday and then I made a card:

Here's this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

I stamped a couple of extra leaves from the other blueberry bunch stamp and cut them out for the smaller element on the sketch, I popped the larger image up on top of the leaves and I colored those leaves darker so you can see they're two pieces.  Here is this week's Color Throwdown:

I used Sweet Sorbet, Azure Afternoon/Blueberry Bushel, and Granny Apple Green for my colors, with a bit of Mossy Meadow for shading.  I thought the Sketched Plaid background would give the impression of a blanket for a picnic, and I used Sweet Sorbet instead of Real Red because Sweet Sorbet is just a touch softer and plays nicer with the other colors.

That's it for me today, I'm going to go be a soccer mom : ) Have a great one, peeps!

Radiant Zinnias

Mornin' y'all!  I had a busy day yesterday but I started it off with some retail therapy :D  I placed a big fat new catty order with SU! and for the first time EVER I sprang for the 2-day shipping so my new goodies get here tomorrow.  Woooooo!  Yeah, I've been a demonstrator for 19 years I think and this is the first time I've done speedy shipping.  I realized this morning that I neglected to put the very colorful Full of Life DSP on my order, so perhaps I will go back and pick up one or two other things in a week or two.

In the meantime, I'm still playing with some relatively new goodies!

Now THAT'S a bright and cheery card, am I right?  I used the fun sketch from Sunday Stamps:

And the hot color combo from Cupcake Inspirations:

I used Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie, and Poppy Parade, and I hope they won't mind I also used Parakeet Party for the stems and leaves.  The Radiating Stitches dies added some fun detail, too, and I finished off with a few sequins.

Alright y'all, I got a good night's sleep last night (finally!) so I am ready to tackle some fun projects today.  Cheers, y'all!

A CASE of Blueberries for SUO Challenges

Mornin' y'all and guess what?  It's time for a new challenge at SUO Challenges!

And this time, we're on the case...CASEing the catalog, that is!

We're CASEing page 29 out of the Occasions catalog, here's a closer look:

I liked that there are three levels of craftiness on display as well as the variety of coloring methods.  You don't have to use Blueberry Bunches for your card, but I have it so I wanted to : )  Here's what I did:

I used the card on the bottom left as the jumping-off point, and instead of coloring the blueberries, I embossed them on Blueberry Bushel cardstock with white EP for a different look.  I mixed patterns from the Bright & Beautiful DSP Stack and the Stargazing DSP...have you seen the retiring lists?  The cool astronaut stamp set is on the retiring list and I've been eyeing it all year so I think I may have to get it.  Blueberry Bunches will be moving over to the online exclusives, and the Tinsel Gems are carrying over which is great because I love them.  I think the Bright & Beautiful DSP is carrying over too and I already have an extra pack of that because it's been a favorite this year.

Anyway, it's your turn to make your CASE.  Don't forget to share at the SUO Challenges blog and have fun!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Blueberry Bunches
Ink:  Versamark, Blueberry Bushel
Paper:  Thick Basic White, Blueberry Bushel, Lemon Lime Twist, Bright & Beautiful DSP Stack, Stargazing DSP

Cactus Greetings

Mornin' y'all and happy Saturday!  And it's going to be a fun Saturday too, the hubs arranged for me to have a mani/pedi with my friend Missy today while Ryan entertains his grandparents.  Whee!  And as an extra bonus, I have a card to share today : )

My friend Krissy lives in Arizona and we were texting the other day about this cute cactus shirt that Tee Turtle has in their Valentine collection and I told her I would have to make her a cactus card soon, and here it is.  I started with the same Just Add Ink challenge as I used yesterday:

I actually made this card first, but as I was working on it I decided it absolutely NEEDED some bright pink flowers and that made it not fit the challenge as much.  Check out the cool sketch from Try a Sketch on Tuesday:

Fun sketch, I had lots of ideas for it but the cactus won out.  I used the same greeting stamp as for yesterday's card because the one I liked from Flowering Cactus was too long to fit in the space on the card front.  And for the three background strips, I finally used one of the "texture" dies in the Flowering Cactus set that I had never used before.

Okay, I'm going to see if I can get in a yoga practice before Ryan wakes up.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Flowering Cactus, Blueberry Bunches
Ink:  Granny Apple Green, Polished Pink, Blueberry Bushel
Paper:  Blueberry Bushel, Azure Afternoon, Thick Basic White

Berries & Plaid

Mornin' y'all and GUESS WHAT, I finally inked up some new stamps yesterday!

I don't know why but I love the new Blueberry Bunches stamp set and the Just Add Ink inspo challenge gave me a great excuse to ink it up:

Totally loving the bright greens and blues in this inspo pic, so I used Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Azure Afternoon, and (surprise) Blueberry Bushel for my card.  I kept it really simple here and let the blueberry image be the star of the show here.  And I worked in a die from the Everyday Details dies too so more new toys :)

Okay, I took pictures yesterday of all my scrapbook layouts but I want to redo it.  I haven't figured out a good place in this house to take pics of layouts, in my craft room the pictures reflect the overhead light and it's annoying.  So I'll see what I can figure out with that.  And make more tea ; )  Cheers!
