Bonjer, Y'all

Mornin' y'all!  *Somebody* snarfed down my lemon blueberry muffins so now I'm eating one of the chocolate chip ones I got for Ryan.  Think I'm going to be buying more muffins today because I think the hubs has joined the chat and he's the guilty party here.

Anyway, I took French classes from middle school all the way through high school (I was the sole student in French IV my senior year), and I would have gotten a minor in French if I hadn't decided I just really didn't want to take Advanced French Grammar, so I was two classes shy of the minor.  One of my friends in high school liked to speak French with an exaggerated Texas accent, hence today's blog post title, which invariably made our teacher wail with a French accent.  All that to say, sometimes I buy stamp sets in French and I used on of them for today's card!

I do love that large and in charge bonjour, I thought it was perfect for the AAA Cards Challenge:

I kept a lot the same, with the layout, hello greeting, and floral pattern, but I used Fresh Freesia for the "white" space on my card because I like colors.  And I know this is a CAS challenge, but I just had to add that layer of Sweet Sorbet in between the Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss card base.

I did promise a more colorful card after yesterday's study in brown : )  Have a great day, y'all!

Rosemary's Cafe

Scrappy Monday, peeps!  I hope you had a good Halloween.  The hubs and I carved pumpkins, and then we decided to go to the movies and out to dinner instead of handing out candy.  We were just watching the previews in the theater when the fire alarm went off and we all had to troop outside for about 15 minutes while the fire department checked things out.  While we were waiting, the hubs and I saw a little kid dressed up as a fireman; his momma was taking advantage of the unexpected prop and taking his photo with the fire truck :)  We also saw Darth Vader, R2-D2 (it was an R2-D2 dress, I liked it), Captain America, and Iron Man.  We should wear costumes more than once a year.

Anyway, on to the scrappy Monday pages!  I finished up this layout last week and I'm very happy to share it today.  Behold pictures from China!

We went to this cafe the first night we were in Guilin, and liked it so much that we went back again the next night.  And can I just say God bless Missy for wearing that awesome green shirt!  I'm loving my Glorious Green page base.

As with all my China pages, I'm using a lettering template and the Rough Type alphabet stamps.  This is the first time I've ever used the round outline though.

This week's color palette:  Glorious Green, Bashful Blue, More Mustard, Riding Hood Red (all retired), Basic Black, and Whisper White.

I've already got some more pictures pulled for the next scrapbook layout, so I'm going to go work on that.  Cheers, peeps!

Ionian Sunset

Scrappy Monday, peeps!  I'm typing this one-handed since I've got a blueberry muffin in my left hand.  Can't leave that unguarded, Vader likes blueberry muffins almost as much as I do ;)

Today's scrapbook layout takes us back to Greece; this one goes right after last week's Olympia layout.  You can see the original pics here if you so desire.  I kept this layout super super simple to let the pictures be the star of the show.

My big deal lately seems to be mixing fonts on stamped titles; I did yet another scrapbook layout over the weekend using this same trick but with different alphabet stamps (I have...several alphabets, but I need more because I always need more, right?).  I showed this layout to the hubs and he's like "Ionian?  What's Ionian?" so I told him that we were in the Ionian Sea when we took these pictures.  And that sea was named after Io, who was hit on by Zeus and then he turned her into a cow to keep Hera from finding out, but Hera's not stupid, so she sent a gadfly to sting Io.  Personally, I think I would have sent the gadfly to sting the philandering husband, not the poor princess who wasn't allowed to say no to the king of the gods.

Greek scrapbook layout with a side of Greek mythology for your Monday morning.  You're welcome.

Every single color I used on this layout (except the Basic Gray marker) is now retired.  The Apricot Appeal and Certainly Celery were pulled over from the Olympia layout since these two go right next to each other, but I wanted a much softer color scheme for the sunset pics.

Lemme just pat myself on the back and say that I'm pretty happy with how this layout turned out.  And now it's time to take the doglets out for a walk; hopefully it's not too terribly muddy though it probably will be since it rained All. Day. Long. yesterday.  But Sadie hasn't been for a walk since last Wednesday and she's going stir-crazy, so here's hoping there's no more limping.

Cheers, peeps!
