A Study in Blue

Mornin' y'all, happy Wednesday!  Today's card is brought to you by the color blue.

I had originally made this card for an SUO Challenges CASE the Catty challenge, but then we changed the challenge and this one never got posted.  Until now.  I loved Softly Sketched from last year's catalog, it has three pretty images and several great sentiment stamps.  What do you think of it stamped in blue?

Have a great day, y'all.

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Softly Sketched
Ink:  Misty Moonlight, Boho Blue
Paper:  Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight, Thick Basic White, Countryside Inn DSP
Accessories:  Deckled Rectangles dies, Deckled Circles dies, Tinsel Gems, Night of Navy ribbon, Dimensionals

Winter Fox

Mornin' y'all!  Well, it's morning here for 32 more minutes anyway.  I had to wait for the sun to come up to take a picture of one of my cards today so I'm a bit later than usual with today's post.  But here we go!

Okay, y'all, I was doing such a good job of resisting the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP Stack but I kept seeing this fox all over and wouldn't you know my resistance crumbled and this paper magically appeared at my house yesterday.  I wasted no time in diving into it with this week's sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday:

And I figure my winter fox counts for the new challenge from Cupcake Inspirations too:

I used just two sheets of these papers, the Misty Moonlight dot is the reverse of the trees that are on the right side of my card.  I still had a big piece of the fox paper though so I did this:

Simple die cut, add a sentiment and a few Tinsel Gems and side note, I love those Tinsel Gems, I got both packs.  Anyway, I had a little strip of the dots left too so this card was made from the scraps of the first one.  And the DSP is 100% doing the work on both of the cards, the only stamping is the greeting on each card (and on the inside of the fox card, where it says I love you).

That's it for me today.  I kinda took some time off from scrapbooking last week when I couldn't seem to get focused on anything, but I did jump back in on that yesterday so I have two Christmas layouts in the works.  Trying to do all my paper crafting now since it'll be harder for me to get craft room time once Ryan is on winter break starting midday Friday.  Cheers!

Fluffy Cotton Balls

Mornin' y'all!  I've been a busy little bee today.  Got up early, did my workout, got Ryan up for school, and then I went to THREE different stores for Thanksgiving prep.  Umm does nobody have frozen cranberries in the US??  (I ended up buying a couple bags of fresh cranberries, it's fine.)  I've got a lineup of cookie recipes on my dining room table and as soon as I finish this, I'll be starting on cookie dough.  I'm planning to give everyone who comes here for Thanksgiving a goodie bag of cookies to kick off Christmas cookie season.  Also I'm ambitious and probably crazy.

Anyway!  Here's my card for today:

I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

I thought Christmas trees, but since Karren did that already I had to be different : )  And here's this week's Color Throwdown:

I used Blushing Bride, Smoky Slate (and Basic Gray), and Shaded Spruce.  The Tinsel Gems claim that they're Pretty Peacock, but I think they look a lot more green and it worked with the teensy tiny bit of green on my stamped image.  Green is my all-time favorite color so how did I end up with a card that's almost all pink and gray?

Okay, I'm off to make several batches of cookie dough.  They all have to be refrigerated for at least a couple of hours, so I'm just making lots of dough today and then I'll bake the cookies later.  Maybe this weekend so Ryan can help roll things in sugar.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Softly Sketched, Sending Smiles
Ink:  Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate and Shaded Spruce
Paper:  Blushing Bride, Basic Gray, Thick Basic White, Blushing Bride & Smoky Slate DSP
Accessories:  Tinsel Gems, Sending dies, Dimensionals

Poppy Pair

Happy Saturday, y'all!  I dropped Ryan off with his grandparents last night so I have today ALL TO MYSELF, which is awesome but also the house feels really quiet and a little sad without Ryan in it.  But I'm planning to enjoy myself with some scrapbooking and making some taco soup.  I did some extra stamping yesterday so I have a card to share.

I confess, I was going off of memory (frequently unreliable in my case, I should know better by now) for the Just Add Ink sketch but I think you can tell that it's where I started from:

Had I remembered it a bit more accurately, I would have placed the poppy pair a bit lower down.  I chose poppies for today's focal point due to the Festive Friday challenge:

From the list, I chose red (Poppy Parade, naturally), black, clean & simple, and poppies.  While I do still have quite a bit of the coordinating patterned paper with beautiful poppies all over it, I just couldn't make myself cut into it for this card ;) #hoarder Saving it for future scrapbook layouts, I suppose.  I decided to go with the simple "I love you" sentiment because I'm planning to send this card to my favorite veteran, the hubs.

Okay, I'm off for a quick trip to Target and then some quality crafting time.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Painted Poppies, Softly Sketched
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Poppy Parade, Garden Green
Paper:  Poppy Parade, Thick Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Poppy Moments dies, Dimensionals, Classic Matte Dots

Rosy Maple Moth

Hey y'all!  I told my hubs I feel like I've got the house about 90% unpacked and organized, but that last 10% might be the hardest bit.  I try to do at least a couple of things every day so I know I'm making progress, but I'm also building in some time to decompress because this has been A LOT.  So I took a bit of time and made a card!

This is for the CAS challenge from the Paper Players:

And the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

Both fun challenges!  I have several options for buggy stamps but I couldn't resist the moths from Night of Flight.  The sentiment is from Softly Sketched and continues with "how amazing you really are" on the inside of the card (that's another set I got during the one-day stamp sale).  Ever since I got Night of Flight, I've seen several pictures of different very cool moths, like this one:

So my moth was inspired by a real-life Rosy Maple Moth, isn't it pretty?  I didn't know moths came in a pink and yellow color scheme : ) I screen-shot a couple of different pictures of the moth from the National Park Service, and I highly recommend you give them a follow on Facebook.  Their social media team is on point and frequently hilarious : )

That's it for me today.  I started writing this post last night, and then the kiddo said his stomach was upset and we spent a lot of last night with him throwing up, poor kid.  So it's going to be a sit-at-home kind of day today.  Cheers!
