Friday Flashback: For All You Do

Happy Friday, ya'll!  How are you this rainy afternoon?  Yeah, I'm late getting my Friday Flashback post up, but today we're celebrating the retired stamp set For All You Do, which is really cute even if the name isn't very descriptive.  So let's get started!

Also features Essence of Love, Strength & Hope, Elements of Style

Japan pages!  The butterfly next to "Park" is the one from today's stamp set.  This layout is a little busier than my usual style, what with three different patterned papers and the more complicated placement of all the elements, but I do really love it.

Also features Bloomin' Beautiful
That wee flower on the journaling block is from For All You Do...

Also features Fresh Fillers

And there's the butterfly again.  And I'm sad that that was all I had in the archives for this set, and so I set out to remedy that today.

I continue to be enamored of CAS cards this week (I thought to myself, I can't stop CAS-ing and then I laughed because I amuse myself) and this one started with the color challenge from Cupcake Inspirations:

I wrote down pink, yellow and purple so I accidentally got a real hot pink instead of a baby pink.  Oops.  I also used this week's CAS(E) This Sketch:

And I kinda want to make like five more cards with it.  Anyway, when I made the first card I kept thinking the colors were yellow, pink, and teal like a certain My Little Pony:

Hi Fluttershy!  So when I re-read the challenge colors I thought I should make a Fluttershy card anyway, so bonus Friday Flashback card!

To be honest though, I'm not sure how much I like this one.  I do like the colors together (So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Bermuda Bay) but I'm not sure about my composition here.  I did some Wink of Stella on the butterfly for a wee bit of sparkle.

Since I wasn't 100% thrilled with that card, I made another one, but not another Fluttershy one.

Okay, what is the deal.  I edit my photos on the computer and then somehow when I go to upload them on the blog they look so much darker!  Grr.  Anyway, the idea for this card popped into my head and I figured that I really hadn't done justice to the stamp set so I made a third card.  The sentiment on this one is from Great Friend, another set with a pretty butterfly and a nondescript name, and they share a stamp case in my house.

Anyway, for this last card I used the color combo from Pals Paper Arts:

So there you have it, this Flashback was equal parts old and new projects.  Hope you have a great weekend, y'all!

Friday Flashback: Inspired by Nature

Happy Friday and welcome to the Friday Flashback!  This week's randomly chosen stamp set is Inspired by Nature.  Let's take a look back at some previous cards I made with this set, shall we?

Ok, so, I love these giant flowers but I just noticed that I *always* do them in pink!  Had I looked back at these older photos before I did today's card, I woulda picked different colors :)

I suppose you could just stamp them all in one color like a silhouette, but I always want to do different colors with markers.

And here is the only non-flower and non-pink card in today's lineup!  I made this for my sweet hubs for our anniversary one year.  Hey, we're coming up on our tenth this October!

So I thought this look was kind of cool, with the darker shading on the edges done with markers.  So far as I know, I thought of that all by my onesies, I don't recall seeing it anywhere else.  And that's the Flashback, so here's today's card:

Again with the pink, but what can ya do :)  This was a recent SCS color challenge and perhaps I could have done the flowers in Bermuda Bay with just the centers in Regal Rose, but again I didn't realize how pink this Flashback was going to be when I made this.  And this is the first stamping I've done in over a week!  I have a LOT of catching up to do and I'm sad about all the great challenges I missed out on, but there's always new challenges popping up so I shan't be sad for long.

Thanks for joining me for today's Friday Flashback, and have a wonderful weekend!  OH, another thing to make today fun--we can order from the new Stampin' Up! catalog!!  I know I've got my wish list ready...

Supplies, last card only:
Stamps:  Inspired by Nature, Happy Greetings (both retired)
Ink:  Certainly Celery, Bermuda Bay, Regal Rose, Creamy Caramel
Paper:  Certainly Celery, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, retired Regal Rose DSP
Accessories:  none, but I did use sponges on the card :)

Friday Flashback: Strength & Hope

Today's Friday Flashback stamp set is one I adore, Strength & Hope.  There are four stamps in this little set, though of course the butterfly is by far my favorite (though it is TOUGH to cut out those teeny antennae!).  So I've got a little gallery for you today and it's not all cards!

Here's a scrapbook layout from when my parents visited us when we lived in Okinawa.  I think as soon as I finish this post, I'm gonna have to go pull out some photos to scrap...I looked at my scrapbook layout gallery on SCS and I just really want to add to it now!  (Supplies for this particular layout listed here.)

Here are a couple of name frames I made.  That Bella Rose DSP is still some of my very favorite, and I have a *lot* of DSP.  *giggle*

Here's more Bella Rose DSP and a CAS card.  If I ever draw Baroque Motifs as the Friday Flashback stamp set, that post is gonna be a mile long.  I love that giant swirl!

I made this for a friend of mine who was battling cancer when I sent it to her (I think the stamp set sales went to benefit cancer research of some kind).  Sadly, my friend lost her battle at the age of 31, but I still think of her every day and miss her always.

I think this is my favorite card I've made with this stamp set; that stamp I used on the border is part of Strength & Hope and the sentiment is from my fave Fabulous Phrases.  And for once I didn't cut out those stinkin' butterfly antennae!

So here's today's card.  It's a bit muted compared to the previous card, but I kinda like it.  I think Sahara Sand is my favorite pale neutral; I know everyone else is crazy for Crumb Cake but for me, Sahara Sand is where it's at.  The sentiment on here is from the also-retired set Friendship Flowers; I thought it went with the theme of Strength & Hope.  And there's that Cast-a-Spell DSP that I'm using once again for not-Halloween stuff :)

Thanks for joining me for today's Friday Flashback, have a wonderful weekend!
