Happy Easter 2021

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  Daphne is currently trying to catch a fly that's buzzing around the bottom of the window and she's not having much luck, but she is entertaining : )

Anyway, since Easter was yesterday I thought I'd share an Easter layout from 2021 today.  And here it is:

You might think of Easter colors as pastels, but I was going off of the colors of the plastic eggs and Ryan's bright orange bucket.  And I went for some reeeeeallllly old DSP for today, anyone recognize the Rainbow Sherbet DSP?  That's from way back when Green Galore and Apricot Appeal were SU! colors.  So I decided on Green Galore for my page base, which is also in that fun pattern I used, and went with a rainbow of colors to match the eggs.  I watercolored a trio of Azure Afternoon Easter bunnies as accents and there you go!  A super colorful Easter layout.

Taste the rainbow:  Green Galore, Magenta Madness, Tangelo Twist, Yoyo Yellow, Azure Afternoon, Gorgeous Grape, and white.  Can't believe I managed to get all those colors in a layout with ten photos but hey, I made it work!

That's it for now, peeps.  I may be double posting this week to get in all the challenges I want to make cards for, so I might pop up again this afternoon, we'll see.  Gotta do some house cleaning first.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Easter Bunny, Pure & Simple Alphabet Upper

Paper:  Green Galore, Tangelo Twist, Magenta Madness, Yoyo Yellow, Gorgeous Grape, Thick Basic White, Rainbow Sherbet DSP, Tangelo Twist DSP

SUO Challenges: Spring Into Easter

Happy Tuesday, y'all, and buckle up for a new challenge from SUO Challenges!

And we have a new theme challenge today:

I decided to do an Easter card with the fun springy colors and patterns in the Lighter than Air DSP stack.  Here's what I came up with:

I punched out the bunny with the fun diamond pattern, and then just played around with other patterns in the DSP until I found a combination that I liked.  I ended up with a Bubble Bath card base, Pool Party for the flags, and Azure Afternoon for the layer with the sentiment heat embossed on it.  What do you think?

I think it's time for you to toddle off to your own craft space and make a card to share with us at SUO Challenges.  Have fun!

Leggo My Eggos

Mornin' y'all!  It is a super RAINY morning where I am, maybe my rainy fox card summoned the rain here.  Looks like it will be rainy tomorrow too, which might slow down our road trip a little bit.

Anyway, since apparently I am just as contrary as Mary Mary, today's card has suns on it.

The Sunny Days DSP officially retired at the end of Sale-a-Bration, but I didn't even get to cut into any of it until this week.  But I liked the sun pattern for my little Easter card today.

Speaking of Easter, that's the theme for two challenges, starting with As You See It:

They titled their challenge post "Let's Get Eggy" and I took that to heart with my little egg lineup.  I hadn't used it before and why should the bunny get all the fun?  They're also looking for Easter cards at Global Design Project:

The springy colors from Hand-Stamped Sentiments were perfect for Easter, too:

And last but not least (I listed the challenges alphabetically) is a fun sketch from Sunday Stamps:

I subbed in a trio of white enamel dots for the little flags on the sketch, I didn't think I could fit three flags on there.

Well, I have a busy day ahead getting ready for our road trip tomorrow.  Gotta schedule some blog posts, do some laundry, pack the suitcase, gas up the car...all that fun stuff.  Cheers, peeps!

A Pair of Bear Cards

Mornin' folks!  I have a pair of cards to share today and as advertised, there are BEARS in these woods!

The hubs and I are both Baylor Bears, so that might possibly influence me to buy alllll the bear things but why not when they're this cute!  I cut three bears out of the A Walk in the Forest DSP, stamped a tree from the coordinating Beary Cute stamp set, and then a sentiment from Easter Bunny to finish this card off.  I already know it's going to my fellow Baylor Bear, Missy : )

I had so much fun with that card, I decided to make a second one.  After all, there are TWO packs of DSP to coordinate with the bear stamps!

This time it's super cute polar bears!  And my friend Sarah loooooooves polar bears so I already know who gets this card, too!  This paper is called Beary Christmas but Sarah is Jewish, so I went with "warm wishes" for the sentiment instead of one of the Christmas ones.

Toldja I'd have to revisit the Paper Players theme challenge this week:

I could probably play along with this challenge for a solid month and never use the same stamp set twice.  Thanks to the Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch challenge for being the inspiration behind both my cards today:

Once I started playing around with cutting bits out of the patterned papers to use for the three rectangles in the sketch, both of my cards came together super fast.  Love it when that happens.  Every time we move, I feel like it takes some time to "break in" the new craft room space and kinda get comfortable in there, get my stamping groove back.  Especially when we move overseas since then I don't get to stamp for a couple of months while our stuff is shipped from one side of the globe to the other.  But now I'm getting my groove going and soon it'll be time to start a big surprise project...

Almost forgot the Cupcake Inspiration challenge!

This is the challenge that convinced me to pause Halloween cards and break out my new bear goodies : ) So thanks, Cupcake Inspiration team!

Cheers, y'all!  And sic 'em Bears! ; )

Little Bunny

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  And happy birthday to my mom's uncle Pat : )  Ryan has asked several times "Hey, when's that day when I get to pinch people?!"  So yeah, you'd better be wearing green if you're local to us.

Today's card is in no danger of being pinched as I used *lots* of green!

D'awww, this bunny is adorable.  Thanks to the Color Throwdown for featuring my favorite color, green!

And naturally I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

And that's all she wrote for today.  I've got several things I want to work on today, so I'd better make like a bunny and hop to it : ) Cheers!

Hippity Hoppity

Well, someone has put a curse on our house; all three of us are sick to one degree or another.  Ryan hasn't been to school all week, I've called in sick to work two days, the hubs is sick but had to go on a business trip anyway.  The doctors keep telling us it's just a cold, but man, this one just won't give up!

But today I managed to get in my craft room for a little bit while Ryan was watching cartoons and I made this:

Easter Bunny is one of my newer acquisitions that hadn't been used yet, so I'd better hurry up before Easter is over for this year.  (I got it because I have some Easter pics from last year and this will be perfect when I do those scrapbook pages.) (I also did another SU! order for today, but for once, it had zero stamps on it.  All cardstock, mostly 12x12 because as soon as I can sit up for longer than an hour without the room spinning, I will be back to scrapbooking.)

And of course Easter Bunny is perfect for the challenge at the Paper Players:

And I thought the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge this time around is a great collection of Easter colors:

And the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch is nice and CAS too:

So the only two things that took a bit of time for my card were fussy cutting the rabbit's flower garland and trying different things to change the shape at the top of the Daffodil Delight DSP.  I ended up going with one of the Basic Borders dies and it kinda sorta looks like a house so I'm going with it.

Hope Ryan has picked a cartoon that I like because I'm going to go lay on the couch for a while.  Cheers, and stay healthy y'all!
