Celebrate...Medieval Style

Ready for some fun scrapbook pages?

We went to a costume party in Nottingham last summer; see the original blog post here.  The costumes were provided, and I got I think the only "enchantress" dress they had (I was the only one in purple) while a bunch of the other ladies were queens in that Rose Red color.  So I found myself a crown and decided I was Morgan le Fay, who was both a queen and an enchantress.

This layout was fun to put together though I wish we had lots lots more DSP with the In Colors, especially Gumball Green which I shall miss when it retires this summer.  I got that arrow punch on the SU! clearance rack quite a while ago and this is its maiden voyage.  The thing that took the longest on this layout was deciding which Monty Python quote to use in the top left corner : )

Thanks for stopping by today!

Nachos: Starfruit Halloween

Happy Nacho day!  This week it's a color challenge:

And I could not resist doing another Halloween card.  I'd forgotten I had this "Happy Halloween" stamp until I pulled out Seasonal Sayings to make a different card that I haven't posted yet.  Anyway, I thought that stamp would be great with this color combo, so lookie:

I had a time getting the spiderweb to show up--it's the retired SU spiderweb embossing folder.  I meant to emboss it the other direction so it would be raised instead of impressed, but oops.  Didn't want to do it again so I just kept it.  I cut out the Labels Framelit shape before I did the embossing, then adhered that piece onto my stamped chevron paper with dimensionals before I added the sentiment banner.  Whatcha think?

Go check out what the other Nachos have done with these colors and then join us for some fun!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Seasonal Sayings, Positively Chevron
Ink:  Summer Starfruit, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Basic Black
Paper:  Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Basic Black

Because Once Isn't Enough...

Say it three times!  This idea pretty much fell into my head when I saw the sketch challenge at Create with Connie & Mary...I like it when my mojo works like that, it could happen a lot more often as far as I'm concerned.  The only thing that took me a while was choosing something to go on the middle banner...it felt too plain with nothing there, so I ended up with a button threaded with DMC floss (3731 is a fairly good match for Primrose Petals if you're interested).  Pretty sure I still have more skeins of floss than I do stamp sets, but the floss is a bit more portable ;)  Cross stitching is my other obsession.

Anywho, here's the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by today, and don't forget to tell people you love 'em as often as possible!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Seasonal Sayings (still available, woohoo!)
Ink:  Primrose Petals
Paper:  Pool Party, Very Vanilla, More Amore DSP
Accessories:  Sycamore Street ribbon & button pack, DMC floss

Thanks is for Giving

Just another Manic Monday!  (I'm a big time Bangles fan.)  Got lots to do this cloudy Monday but I did manage to get a card made today.

I make a lot of cookies for care packages, so this will go in a care package to be sent off next month.  I think I should have gotten the leaves a teeny bit closer to the top of the sentiment stamp, but too late now.  I sponged some Pool Party ink over the entire panel to tone down the Vanilla a bit, and then sponged More Mustard around the edges.  A bit of baker's twine and this card was done!  Love the Spice Cake papers and I need to do something about my giant stash of retired DSP :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps:  Gently Falling, Seasonal Sayings
Ink:  More Mustard, Early Espresso, Pool Party
Paper:  Spice Cake DSP (retired), More Mustard, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla cardstock
