Quick Otter

Hey y'all!  I'm enjoying a few last quiet hours here and I made a quick card to share on this rainy afternoon.  Good thing I took Daphne out for a walk while it was nice and sunny earlier.

I don't know why the Otterly Amazing stamp and die bundle is on the Last Chance List but the DSP is not, but I love this DSP so I'll just be happy about it.  I used the Hand-Stamped Sentiments sketch:

And the As You See It theme challenge:

It took me longer to decide on all the parts and pieces for my card and get them ready on my table than it did to actually make the card, and here's what I clocked in at:

I was about to rifle through my embellies when I checked the time, squeaked, and stopped the clock while I was ahead.  But after I took the picture of the card, I did have to add some pearls:

It was okay without the pearls but I like it with.  But the pearl-less card is what is getting entered at AYSI : )

That's it for today, peeps!  I think I might start a scrapbook layout now.  Cheers!

Otter Love

Mornin' y'all!  It's a rainy morning here so I don't know if Daph will get to go for her usual tour of the neighborhood.  We'll see what it looks like a little bit later this morning.

For now, I have an otter card!

The Otterly Amazing bundle is on the last chance list, but oddly enough, the Otterly Adorable DSP is not.  I wasn't sure when I sat down at my craft table yesterday what I wanted to make, but I looked through all my DSPs for the Paper Players sketch and the otter won.

I almost did a floral card with the pretty yellows in the beautiful Floral Delight DSP but I couldn't resist a cute otter for today.  Speaking of otters, Ryan and I saw Lilo & Stitch on Monday and there was a preview for a Zootopia 2.  Yay!  I really liked the first one.

That's all for now.  I'm going to go pet the Daph.  Cheers!

As You See It: Guest Designer

Mornin' y'all, and guess what?  Today I'm a guest designer at As You See It Challenges!  Check out this recipe challenge:

Oh yeah, I can work with that!  Here's what I made:

I haven't played much with the Hearts & Hugs stamp set so I chose this pair of walruses for my main image.  For the texture or embossing element, I die cut a circle of Garden Green cardstock, misted it (with my stamp cleaner because my water misting bottle had apparently walked off), and crumpled it up, then flattened it back out.  I also used a distressing tool on the edges of the water pattern from the Otterly Adorable DSP.  I have some Garden Green twine, I used two different dies, and of course I colored in my walrus couple with Stampin' Blends.  I'm sure I could make lots of variations with this recipe!

Thanks to the team at As You See It for inviting me to be a guest designer, it's been fun!

Lovely Otters

Hey y'all, happy Friday!  We're on the upswing here, Ryan is feeling better but still doesn't have school today for whatever reason (they seem to have a lot of days off).  It snowed heavily all morning yesterday and was super windy all day, so I went out and shoveled 6-8 inches of the white stuff off the driveway so that it wouldn't be icy when the hubs came home and as a result I was pretty much sore from the neck down this morning.  But then I did a restorative yoga class and it actually helped a lot and now here I sit with my tea and some morning oatmeal and a super cute card to share!

I didn't play with the Otterly Amazing suite much when I first got it as we were all in the throes of holiday paper crafting, but I've had some fun with it in the last couple of weeks.  I'm squeaking in just under the wire to enter this at the Paper Players challenge:

I had the idea to use a wide but not very tall image for the white layer on the sketch, and my first thought was the lobster from Ocean Friends, but I'm glad I went with the otters instead.  I heat embossed the sentiment on Pretty Peacock cardstock and then fussy cut around it so that it wouldn't cover up too much of the otters.  A few Riverside Irregular Pearls and this card is ready to go in the mail.

That's it for me today, peeps.  Since Ryan is feeling better, I'm going to pry him away from the TV to take Daph out for a walk, she hasn't gotten to go for the past couple of days and she needs it.  Cheers!

Playful Otter

Mornin' y'all!  I got my day started off with a lovely yoga practice and a sound meditation and now I'm all relaxed and ready to go for the rest of the day : )  I have some ideas swirling in my brain for some paper crafting projects so I hope Ryan will let me sneak off to the craft room for a bit.

I do have a card to share today:

I thought this week's Freshly Made Sketch was a good way to play with several patterns from the Otterly Adorable DSP, check out the sketch:

I'm also entering this over at Critter Crazy, where the challenge is anything goes with a critter on it.  I haven't played much with the Otterly Amazing suite since December is all the Christmas madness, so I was happy to get it out for this card.  I love the patterns on the DSP, but this time I stamped and colored my own otter instead of cutting one out of the paper.  I think she's cute!

Speaking of cute, it's time to take Daphne out for a walk.  Cheers!

Going for a Swim

Happy Friday, y'all!  I got 99% of my Thanksgiving shopping done yesterday so now I just need to write out my game plan of what gets made each day next week.  Today I'll be cleaning up the downstairs of the house since my parents get here tomorrow, and we have a contractor coming to do demolition on our shower (yes, you read that right, we *still* only have one functional shower).  So no use cleaning upstairs today with dust flying everywhere.

Anyway, I got an awesome suite of stuff last time online exclusives were released and I'm just now getting around to playing with some otters:

I couldn't resist fussy cutting these otters out of the Otterly Adorable DSP when I saw this sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

The Balmy Blue watery pattern is the reverse side of the otters I cut out.  I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock, which I wouldn't put with Balmy Blue on my own, but they're both colors in the DSP and I actually like how it looks.  Had to add a few Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems to balance the design.

Okay, time to get Ryan off to school for the last day before he gets the ENTIRE WEEK off next week.  Man, when I was a kid, we only got Thursday and Friday.  Well, Ryan, Daphne, and the grandparents can entertain each other while I cook, ha!  Cheers, y'all!
