Botanical Bounty, Part 3

Hey hey for the second time today, peeps.  I was all excited to get my SU! order today so I ran out to grab it and...it's the second order that's only a couple of things, the BIG order will be here tomorrow.  I have the Peaceful Pine ink pad now but no cardstock to go with.  Maybe I *will* go take that nap now, ha.

But first, I have a couple more botanical cards for the CAS on Friday challenge!  I told you I have been loving it and I keep finding more and more stamp sets I wan to play with.

So here's the Beauty of Tomorrow stamp set paired with the coordinating Beauty of Tomorrow stamp set.  I tried not to add embellishments to keep it more CAS, but the blank space to the left of the stems was just crying for something to go there.  I still have lots of white space which is actually purple in this case.

And here's a quick and cute card with Pocket Silhouettes, another old old stamp set converted from wood mount that I just love.  It's a couple of simple greetings and some line art imagery and it's just so dang cute.  And I got out one of my all-time favorite colors, Baja Breeze.

That's it for now, y'all.  Will I have more botanical cards to share tomorrow?  Probably ; )  I've been having fun with it so why not!  Cheers, y'all.

Changing Leaves

Surprise bonus post this afternoon!  There's a challenge closing today and I just *had* to get a card made for it.  So here's my card:

Once again I'm pulling out some older stamps to play with!  I wanted to have another go at the Color Throwdown, without so much black this time:

I still used Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive, but added just a little Chocolate Chip for a neutral this time.

Since I used older stamps, I'm going to enter this at the Retro Rubber Challenge:

I love that greeting stamp from Beauty of Tomorrow; it's just one year old, but the Best of Autumn leaf has been in my collection for 9 years so it's quite retro.

And here's the challenge that is closing today, the Sunday Stamps sketch:

I rotated the sketch to the left 90 degrees because I just liked the spacing better for my sentiment that way.  It's very simple stamping and kind of on the CAS side but I think I like it!

ETA:  Oh silly me, I misread the challenge--it closes next Friday.  Well, I wanted to get a card done for it anyway!

Hope you're having a good Friday afternoon, peeps!

Blackberry Beauty Best Wishes

Mornin' y'all!  I had so much fun making yesterday's card for the Global Design Project CASE the Designer challenge that I made another one:

Here's the challenge graphic:

This time I kept my layout a bit more similar to the inspiration card, and layered several floral elements together.  But I went in a different direction with the patterned paper rather than leaving a lot of white space, so my card doesn't feel nearly as CAS.  I love that owl pattern!

Hope you have a great day, y'all.

Serene Fox

Mornin' y'all!  I don't know how much time I'll get in my craft room this week and next, but I did get a couple of cards made on Sunday.  Here's the first one:

I loved the inspiration picture from Inkspirational Challenges:

I just *had* to squeeze in enough crafting time to make a fox-inspired card!  I decided on Cinnamon Cider, Pale Papaya, and Soft Succulent for my colors, based on the inspo pic.  The fox is colored with a combination of dark Pale Papaya and light Cinnamon Cider blends, with Soft Succulent light and dark for the background.  Not so sure about the halo effect on my fox, but it felt like he needed *something* behind him.

Have a great day, y'all.

The Changing of Leaves

Hey hey, y'all, how's it going?  I'm excited I got to play with a couple of my new stamp sets for today's card!

The sentiment is from Beauty of Tomorrow, and the rest of the stamps are from Gorgeous Leaves--no joke, the leaf stamps are definitely gorgeous!  So are the Intricate Leaves dies that coordinate.  Just when I think I have enough leaf stamp sets they come up with something new and different that I just *have* to have ;)

I made this card for three different challenges.  First up is the Festive Friday challenge:

I used pearls (happily for me I found some retired ones in a yellow that I thought jived well with the rest of my card), leaves, and two die cuts.  The splat stamps kinda look like spritzing too.

Next up is the Inkspirational challenge:

Yes please.  I love making things with autumn leaves and all the gorgeous autumn colors!  Speaking of which, here's the color palette from Sunday Stamps:

In SU parlance, I read the palette as Terracotta Tile (retired), Mango Melody, Bumblebee, Mellow Moss (long retired), and Very Vanilla; the only color I didn't use was the green.  I worried a bit that the Mango Melody was going to be way too bright to play well with the Terracotta Tile and Bumblebee, but to my surprise the Bumblebee toned it down quite a lot.  The splats behind the leaf die cut are in both colors, and on the card base the splatters are in Bumblebee while the small leaves are in Mango Melody.  And like I said above, the pearls are actually pale yellow, I think they were supposed to be So Saffron?  But they worked with the rest of the colors too.  Love it when that happens.

Hope your week is off to a good start.  We enjoyed our holiday yesterday!
