Pumpkin Patch

Hey y'all, as promised I have a second card to share today and here it is:

I had to play along with the Inspired By... challenge:

I also did a variation on the sketch:

And I paired this with the Just Add Ink challenge:

I did words and neutral colors, with just a leeetle bit of Peach Pie because pumpkins.  I started with Peach Pie, Pecan Pie, and Cloud Cover, and then filled the other pumpkins in with some neutral Blends for more neutral colors.  I thought about adding some kind of embellishments, but decided against it as I think the grid layout is enough on its own.

That's it for me today, peeps.  Stay tuned for a new Nancy Drew challenge tomorrow and then a Paper Players challenge on Sunday...gonna be a great weekend!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  More Than Autumn
Ink:  Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Stampin' Blends in Pecan Pie, Peach Pie, Cloud Cover, various neutrals
Paper:  Pecan Pie, Peach Pie, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  More That Autumn dies, 1" square punch

Can't Stop, Won't Stop

I know I said last week that I couldn't skip Scrappy Monday, but...then I made this and I couldn't wait to post it.

I found another apple challenge at Inspired By...:

And a cool sketch at As You See It:

I think this is a great way to use little bitty image stamps like the apples from More Than Autumn without them getting overwhelmed by other design elements.

But wait, there's more!

I had to do a pumpkin version for the Color Hues Challenge:

I chose Timid Tiger and Shy Shamrock for an In Color pumpkin patch.  I've been focused on apples, but it is also pumpkin's time to shine
: )  Both of these cards fit the theme at the Paper Players too!

Speaking of pumpkins, I have pumpkin coffee cake in the kitchen and it's time for breakfast, just as soon as I make a cuppa tea to go with.  The hubs took Ryan to school this morning for a Donuts with Dads event which means I can have a leisurely cuppa tea with my breakfast.  Cheers, y'all!

Paper Players: I'm Baaaack!

Mornin' y'all and I am SO EXCITED to finally share this:  I'm joining the Paper Players Design Team!  I was a guest designer there a couple of years ago and I was just so thrilled when they asked me to come back on a more permanent basis.  I've been sitting on this news since the end of June : )

So, without any further ado, here's the new Paper Players challenge courtesy of Ann:

And here's my card:

Lookit that, I have an official watermark and everything!!!  I made this card weeks ago, long before I went all apple crazy here on the blog last week, so we're just continuing that theme here and I still haven't made the apple cider muffins yet (need to track down apple cider before I can do that).  Anyway, I turned to the fabulous More Than Autumn stamps and dies that debuted last year and paired them with the Timeless Plaid DSP Stack for my apple cider card.  I do NOT drink coffee, so no pumpkin spice lattes for me, but I do enjoy a nice hot apple cider.  I am ready for all things fall!

Check out what the other Paper Players have made and we hope you'll play along!

I am honored that they invited me back, I hope I'm up to the challenge!

Pumpkin Spice is BACK!

Mornin' y'all!  We had to be up early today for an event so here I sit in a DRESS with MAKEUP on and that usually happens about once a year.  I actually bought this dress over 10 years ago and it's the first time I've worn it, and I managed to find jewelry on Amazon that coordinates with it pretty perfectly : )

Anyway, now that we're in August, pumpkin spice is back and I'm going to start manifesting fall weather as much as I can.  So here's a pumpkin spice card:

I love the Timeless Plaid DSP stack, I love me a good plaid!  I had to pick one for the Just Add Ink challenge:

Because of that plaid blanket on the bottom.  I've got a coffee and a little bitty pumpkin too, but what's funny is I don't drink coffee.  Pretty much everyone else I know does though (well, not the hubs) so I know I won't have trouble choosing someone to send this to.  I usually don't even drink pumpkin spice tea because I've found I don't like teas with loads of cinnamon and spice in them--I love a good breakfast tea and I like dessert teas but more along the vanilla or chocolate flavor profile.  I keep my spices in my baked goods : )

Anyway, I also used the most recent Freshly Made Sketch:

That's it for now, peeps.  Cheers!

Flying Pie

Mornin' y'all!  How's your Friday going?  I stayed up just a little bit too late finishing what turned out to be a pretty dang good book and I just bought the next four in the series for my Kindle.  I also like to have a physical book in my car to read while I wait in line to pick Ryan up from school, and yesterday I started rereading the very first Nancy Drew book and you know what?  It's still pretty great too. *happy sigh* I love books.  My Nancy Drew books are a bit battered but hey, I've had many of them for over 30 years, they've been through a lot.

Know what else I love?  PIE.

Do these flying pie slices make your brain start playing The Ride of the Valkyries?  Just me?  Okay.  I just saw this Tee Turtle shirt yesterday and imma have to get it so I can wear it when I make all the pies for Thanksgiving this fall.  Anyway, today it's all about French silk pie, which I have never made but I can get on board with chocolate + pie.  What's not to love?  Also now feeling the urge to rewatch Pushing Daisies, where the main character is frequently referred to as the pie maker.  Such a great show, cancelled far too soon.

Anywha.  I used this week's CASEing Tuesday sketch:

The inspiration for the sketch:

And I used this week's Color Throwdown:

I miss having those weekly, but I'm glad they didn't decide to just shut down the challenge entirely.  I used Azure Afternoon for my blue and light and dark versions of Pecan Pie for the browns, plus a bit of Ivory Stampin' Blend for the pie crusts.

Anyway, it's a beautiful (if chilly) day and I have a walking date with Daphne, then it's off to do laundry and work in my craft room.  Cheers!

More than Donuts

Mornin' y'all!  Hope your weekend is off to a good start.  I did my workout this morning, I'm about to eat a late breakfast and take Daph for a walk and then it's time to clean the kitchen and bathrooms : p  I'll feel better when those are done and then I can play in my craft room for a while!

I have a card to share today:

I made this in a big hurry before we had to leave for Ryan's second grade concert on Wednesday and I goofed up the patterned paper at the top a bit.  The really funny part of this card though?  I don't even like donuts : )  And yet, donuts are where I ended up for today's card.  Do you spell it donuts or doughnuts?  Asking the important questions here.

Anywha, here's this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

And the Color Throwdown:

I used Polished Pink, Pecan Pie, and white for my colors.  I used the lighter Blend marker for the donuts on the sides and the darker one for the middle, so the lighter ones are strawberry frosted and the middle one is raspberry.  I added Wink of Stella so the frosting is a bit shiny.

Okay, time to get moving.  Cheers, y'all!

SUO Challenges: SHINY!

Hey hey, happy Tuesday!  Yesterday did not go to plan...less than 30 minutes after I dropped Ryan off at school, I got a call from the school nurse that he was throwing up.  So I went back and got him and then we both took a nice long nap and I only did one load of laundry yesterday.  But he's feeling better now so hopefully we can get things done today!

And first up is a new challenge from SUO Challenges!

Here's our month-long challenge to end out the year:

I recently bought a pack of In Color Glimmer Paper just with this challenge in mind, so here's what I made:

All of the newest In Colors appear in the Unbounded Beauty DSP so that was an easy pair to make with the glimmer paper.  I started out with the pink version:

This card started with the Inspired By... challenge:

That's why I chose Pretty in Pink as the main color, with some red and a gingerbread man.  I had forgotten the peppermint swirls in the inspo pic when I made my card, but I chose those accents anyway so it works!

One glittery card just was not enough so I had to make a purple version:

I used Petunia Pop and a little bit of Shy Shamrock for this one.

Okay, it's time for me to get the kiddo off to school and he said his tum is much better so I'll be able to do more laundry (yay?) and go grocery shopping.  Don't forget to add your card to the SUO Challenges blog.  Cheers!

Time for a Hot Drink (or Two)

Mornin' y'all!  It's another snow day here and it is *really* coming down.  I don't think anyone is going anywhere today.  We took Daphne out on a very short walk yesterday just until she did her business and then we came back to the house and played in the snow while the hubs shoveled the driveway (he decided against spending $1K+ on a snowblower yesterday but he might change his mind if this keeps up).  I think we might all be housebound tomorrow, too.

Of course when we came back inside from the cold I had to make myself a cup of tea (or two), which brings me to today's card:

The SOS Challenge this week is Time for a Hot Drink, and I've got two.  So which would you choose, pumpkin spice with marshmallows, or apple cider with whipped cream?  I recently met up with a friend at a coffee shop in Monument (it's called Wesley Owens Coffee & Cafe, you should check it out Lynn) and I had what they called a fall fog--it was English breakfast tea with pumpkin spice and steamed milk and it was really good.  I enjoyed the blackberry scone too, so there's my plug for the coffee shop : ) and I don't even drink coffee.

Anyway, here is this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

And the Color Throwdown:

I used Pumpkin Pie, Mossy Meadow, and Cherry Cobbler, and added Early Espresso and Pecan Pie for neutrals.  I tried a Pumpkin Pie card base and it just didn't look good, so I used Early Espresso instead.  I thought about adding Pumpkin Pie embellishments, but nothing spoke to me so I just left it as is so the focus is on the cute drinks.

And here is a picture of Daphne this morning, who is Not A Fan of all the snow:

There's the hubs shoveling a path out into the grass for her : )  She's getting better about doing her tinkle fast so we can come back inside, and mostly she's behaving so well, but she did go in Ryan's room this morning and grab a stuffy to gnaw on.  I rescued Wolfier (big brother to Wolfy, Ryan has a naming convention for most of his stuffies, we also have a Foxy, Eagly, Pengy, Ducky...and this is why I named Daphne instead of letting Ryan do it) who now has a bit of damage around his nose but at least wasn't eviscerated.  Ahh, life with a puppy.  I love having a dog again.

Cheers, y'all!  I'm gonna go make some tea while I watch the snow come down.

SUO Challenges: Tricks AND Treats!

Hey y'all, guess what?  It's time for a new challenge from SUO Challenges!

Get ready....get set...here it is!

And because I was indecisive I went with tricks AND treats : )  So here's my trick card:

Okay it's really not tricky at all but it is a Halloween card.  I thought that Nested Essentials die shape gave coffin vibes so I had to use it with the vampire ghost.  The card base and the sentiment circle are Blackberry Bliss, not black, it showed up extra dark in my photo for some reason.

Next up, a treat:

Let's be real here, if this was truly representative of how I eat pumpkin pie, you wouldn't be able to see the pie for all the whipped cream ; )  I was inspired by this card by Amy Koenders and took my layout from there.  There was a pie-tastic color challenge recently at Hand Stamped Sentiments and I had so much fun with it the first time that I had to have a second go.

We hope you'll join us for this challenge.  What do you think, tricks or treats...or possibly both?  Have fun and don't forget to upload your card at the SUO Challenges blog!

Pumpkin Season

Okay, so I just realized that this is my third pumpkin card in a row and you know what?  I'm okay with that.  I got to play around with More Than Autumn a bit yesterday to make this:

I turned this week's Freshly Made Sketch on its side to accommodate my sentiment.

And since I got to do my Color Throwdown card early : ) this time around I'm pairing FMS with the colors from Cupcake Inspirations:

I used Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso (and Pecan Pie, for that matter), and Tahitian Tide.

That's it for me today, peeps.  Have a great day!

Apple Lineup

Happy...(checks calendar)...Saturday, y'all!  Ryan was off school yesterday and I spent the whole day reminding myself that it was Friday, not Saturday.  But now it really is Saturday : ) and I have a card to share!

The first time I looked through the holiday mini catalog, More Than Autumn was the bundle that hit my wishlist the fastest.  Then I didn't order until the beginning of this month and it's taken me this long to use this bundle...and I didn't even use the coffee cup or the pie stamps!  But I was inspired by this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

When I saw it, I had to think for a bit about what to do with those little shapes on the sketch.  Then I saw the Color Throwdown:

And that's what made me think of the itty bitty apples in More Than Autumn : ) I used Real Red, Old Olive, and Boho Blue for my colors, and kept my card pretty CAS.  I did pop up every other apple with a Dimensional, and added some Old Olive rhinestones to make sure it's obvious that I did include the green in this challenge.   My rhinestones were from the retired Noble Peacock set, but you could easily use Stampin' Blends to color clear rhinestones.

Now we just need to convince autumn to come out of hiding.  It's still been in the low 80s here and I am ReAdY for some fall weather!  I keep manifesting fall in my craft room but so far I've only seen a couple of trees starting to change colors.  Think fall thoughts, everyone.

Cheers!
