Friday Flashback: Madison Avenue

Happy Friday and welcome to this week's slightly late Friday Flashback!  My mom emailed me and asked why I didn't have a card up earlier today...well, I just didn't get around to getting my craft room back in order from all the craziness of the past couple of weeks until today.  And since it's been a couple of weeks since I spent much time in my craft room, I got off to a slow start.  Got there eventually though so here's today's Flashback!  Our randomly-chosen retired stamp set for today is Madison Avenue, one of last year's Sale-a-Bration options.

I like free stamps, but unless the stamp set is really, really, REALLY cool, I don't seem to use the SAB stamps very much.  Looks like I'm not the only one, either--the Splitcoast gallery for this set is pretty small.  Oh well, here's my new card:

Thought it might be fun to combine last year's SAB stamps with this year's SAB paper (plus the Sweet Sorbet colors were this week's Splitcoast color challenge).  I'm so rusty on stamping that I had a hard time getting my flowers stamped straight even *with* the Stamp-a-ma-jig, so I actually cut out the flower heads and popped them up over the stems where I wanted them.  The center parts are still kinda crooked but I sort of hid that part with some Candy Dots :)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope your weekend is bloomin' marvelous!  We're hoping to go see the new Captain America, so yay!

Supplies, last card only:
Stamps:  Madison Avenue, Bloomin' Marvelous
Ink:  Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Summer Starfruit, StazOn Black
Paper:  Pool Party, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP
Accessories:  Oval & Scalloped Oval punches, Dimensionals, Subtles Candy Dots

Happy Day on Madison Avenue

I found a SAB card that I didn't get around to posting, so here it is today.

Once again, I used some old Splitcoast color and sketch challenges...that sketch is a little...well, not me, but whatever.  And the flower on the right is crooked because even WITH a Stamp-a-ma-jig, I can stamp crooked.  I'm that special.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Bloomin' Marvelous

Monday already!  I didn't get much accomplished this weekend...had all these plans but instead I've had my nose stuck in a book.  Actually two books; I'm on the last book in a 6-book series and it's been hard for me to put it down and do other things like laundry.

So today's cards are ones I made for a swap a while back.  Hope they bring some sunshine to your Monday!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sycamore Street Butterflies

It's Wednesday and that means that tomorrow I fly back to England :( but I get to see my dogs again :)  and my stamps!  I've missed stamping the last couple of weeks, and I seriously want to get started on scrapbooking again too.  Now if only school didn't get in the way :p

This was another swap card, and the one that was inspired by an old Great Friend card I made with butterflies (second one down on that Friday Flashback post).  The Pool Party butterfly is stamped and then punched out, because I wanted to show how the Bloomin' Marvelous butterfly fit perfectly in the punch.  The color combo was taken directly from the Sycamore Street DSP, don'tcha love that?

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies (all SU!):
Stamps:  Bloomin' Marvelous
Ink:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango
Paper:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Sycamore Street DSP
Accessories:  Bitty Butterfly punch, basic rhinestones, Sycamore Street ribbon

The Best Things

Helloooo in blog land!  It is a lovely snowy day here in England...well, it's not snowing now, but we've got a pretty good amount of the white stuff from a couple days ago and everything looks all pretty ('cept where the snow has gotten slushy on the streets).  I even went out walking around our village this morning and took some pictures :)  So as a break from all that snow, how about a cheery springy card?

I love the new Feel Goods stamp set, isn't it awesome?  Fabulous font and even more fabulous sentiments!  The card layout is from Retro Sketches:

And the color combo is from Color Throwdown, I think this is the first time I've played in that challenge!

I admit, the Crumb Cake was kinda throwing me for a loop so there's just a teensy bit of it poking out under the butterfly's wings.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a marvelous day!

Stamps:  Feel Goods, Bloomin' Marvelous (SAB!)
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie
Paper:  Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Brights DSP Stack
