Snorkel Buddies

Mornin' y'all!  Hope your weekend is off to a good start.  I began the day with one of my favorite restorative yoga videos so I'm all nice and relaxed : )  Later today we'll be picking up some paint samples to start getting the rest of the house dis-neutraled which makes me happy.  And in the meantime, I have a card:

Somebody take away my paper snips the next time I get the wild hare to fussy cut that jellyfish's tentacles, that took longer than the entire rest of the card and I'm not in a hurry to do it again.  At least the starfish was easy...anyway, sea creatures are the order of the day for the Creative Colour Challenges palette:

I was tickled to find that Blueberry Bushel bit in the Full of Life DSP Stack, I just cut off the part that was different colors.  This card is a twist on the Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I don't like making slimline cards (honestly, it seems like a waste of cardstock to me and usually I don't have envelopes in other sizes except 5x7) so I took the sketch and put it on a slimline panel on my A2 card.

That's it for now, peeps.  Cheers!

We All Live In A Yellow Submarine

Mornin' y'all!  It is snowing here this morning (again!), so I spent about 20 minutes sweeping off the driveway and back porch.  I've discovered that if it's fresh snow that's super fluffy, like this morning, that using the big push broom is actually a lot more effective than a snow shovel.  I've learned a lot more about shoveling snow in the last few months than I ever knew before : p

Anyway, today's card has nothing to do with snow.  Here it is:

Here's the fun color challenge from the Paper Players:

I almost did another dinosaur card, but decided on a yellow submarine instead for the Atlantic Hearts sketch:

It was the snorkeling crab that sealed the deal, plus I hadn't played with Submarine Life for a while and it's so fun.  And I love the song Yellow Submarine, it was one that was guaranteed to calm Ryan down if he got upset about something when he was a baby.  (He also liked the Beach Boys' Good Vibrations.)

That's it for me today, peeps.  Cheers!

Bold & Bright Submarine

Hey y'all!  How's your Thursday going?  It's been raining here since yesterday afternoon and pretty soon I think we'll need one of these...

I was joking yesterday that we should paint the outside of our house yellow and call it the Yellow Submarine.  Ryan was all for it since yellow is his favorite color : )  But this time I've got a lime green sub!  I think my Lemon Lime Twist ink pad is extra juicy because it almost looks Granny Apple Green when I stamp with it.  Anywha, I wanted the boldest stripes and spots in my paper arsenal for this week's Paper Players challenge:

I managed to use all scraps for this card, too.  I almost entered yesterday's dragonfly card there because it has spots and stripes too, but I really wanted to go for the gusto.  And I also really want to dig up my one stamp set with Dalmatians in it too because of that inspo pic on the lower right.

Anyway, I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

Usually I pair this challenge with the Color Throwdown, but fear not, I have a Color Throwdown card coming up soon.  I just really wanted to get my bold bright submarine card made before I tackled that challenge ; )

Glad I get to stay nice and dry in the car when I drop Ryan off at school.  Ha!  Stay toasty, folks!

Oceans of Love

Hey y'all, how's your Wednesday going?  Got a quick card to share today.

I had made this for the SUO Challenges red white and blue color challenge, but then I decided to go with Adventurous Sky instead.  But that left me with an extra card to share today : )  How do you like the white sequin bubbles?  It took me a while to play around with the layout of this card because I was trying to use a specific scrap of that Azure Afternoon wash from the Bright & Beautiful DSP stack.

That's it for me today.  Have a good 'un!

Subliminal Message

Mornin' y'all!  For the third night in a row, I did not get enough sleep last night.  Ryan got an owie right before bedtime last night and conned me into letting him stay in my room for the night...yeah I woke up in the middle of the night with his head pressing into my spine, and then in the wee morning hours he totally FELL OUT OF BED, then got back on it with his feet on the pillow and totally ignored me asking if he was okay.  He went right back to sleep, if he even woke up at all : p  Lucky him.  So today I may have to take a nap, or else just mainline caffeine like it's my job.

Anyway, I do have a card to share today, take a looksie:

How could you NOT smile at that little submarine?  This week, I rotated the Freshly Made Sketch 90 degrees to accommodate my sea scene:

And used the Color Throwdown palette:

I chose Lemon Lolly, Garden Green, and Coastal Cabana for my colors, with a bit of Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, and Night of Navy for neutrals.  Most of the Color Throwdown design team went with flowers, which is a natural choice with these colors, but I wanted to be different and now that I have Submarine Life any color challenge with yellow makes me think of one of the world's two most famous subs.  (I think Red October would be the other most famous sub, go hunt for it.)

Last night, Ryan and I went out to dinner with my friend Missy, her mom, her son, and my mom, which was fun because we're all big fans of Texas Roadhouse ; )  Ryan ate three and a half rolls, plus nearly all of his dinner, which surprised me.  Anyway, on the way back to our house, this happened:

My mom made me a Maleficent shirt because she is the best Disney villain (Maleficent is the best Disney villain, not my mom, just to be clear), and Ryan had to try it on first.  (He has his favorite duck stuffie stuffed in the front of the shirt, he doesn't have a giant belly from eating all of those rolls at dinner which is unfair.)  Ryan definitely looks like he's plotting something nefarious.  I took this picture while we were waiting at a red light.

That's it for me today, I need to head up to my craft room and make a Maleficent-y thank you card.  Cheers!

Sorbet Submarine

Mornin' y'all, I have a busy day ahead so I'm glad I spent a good chunk of time in my craft room yesterday.  I made several cards and it just so happens that they're all aquatic, starting with a super-cute submarine:

I thought the colors from Sunday Stamps were perfect for an undersea adventure:

I read the palette as Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Petal Pink, and Sweet Sorbet.

I paired that with the new sketch from Try a Sketch on Tuesday:

I missed the deadline on the last sketch but at least I know this challenge doesn't expire for a bit : )

That's it for now, kids.  Check you later, Imma go float around in a sweet submarine for a while.

Rainy Day Blues

Mornin' y'all!  I had a good time in my craft room yesterday and made THREE cards that I'm quite pleased with, but the other two will make their appearances later as they're for design team work.  It has been bright and sunny here lately, but it's raining on my card today, take a look:

I do love these bold colors together!  Check out the Paper Players challenge:

Joanne used the cute bunny from Playing in the Rain, so I wanted to use something different.  I was going to go rooting through my retired stamps until I saw the color challenge from Cupcake Inspirations:

And then I had to use the fox stamp : )  I used Pumpkin Pie and both Blueberry Bushel and Azure Afternoon for my colors, and for once the Wink of Stella on the fox's umbrella actually shows up.  I thought it would be cute to put my greeting on a die-cut cloud, and that little "hello" from Submarine Life worked perfectly.  And even though it looks more like fluffy snow than rain, I couldn't resist using Drizzling Droplets for my background.  Guess where that strip of Pumpkin Pie DSP came from?  It's in the Stargazing pack and I thought just a little strip of it was just the thing to ground my fox on the rainy background.

That's it for me today.  I've got some more projects to tackle : ) Whether it's rainy or sunny where you are, have a great day, y'all!

Purple Submarine

Hey y'all, what a week it's been.  Valentine's Day/hubby's birthday, Ryan's birthday, the thing with the stuffie in the light fixture...and now I think I'm getting sick.  I hope it passes really quickly because we're supposed to have a taco fiesta for Ryan's birthday this weekend.

Anyway, I continue my quest to play with All The New Things and today I'm singing "We all live in a.."

PURPLE submarine!  I couldn't resist this fun color challenge from Just Add Ink:

And this was a great time to use the Patchwork Pieces dies that I just got, too.  And since mixing the patterns means I have supplies for two cards, well...

We could also choose to live in a yellow submarine ; )  When Ryan was really little, sometimes he would get upset and I could calm him down by singing Yellow Submarine.  He also liked the Beach Boys' Good Vibrations.  Anyway, both of my sub cards were quick to put together and it was fun to play with the new punch and dies.  A few Tahitian Tide pearls completed my cards.

Okay, I'm going to go crawl back in bed for a little bit and hope that I feel better this afternoon.  Cheers, y'all!
