Sketching with the Paper Players

Happy Sunday, stampy friends!  It's time for a new challenge from The Paper Players, and we have a wonderful sketch courtesy of the fantastic and amazing Joanne!  Take a look:

Isn't it great?  Lots of fun ways to use the sketch, as you'll see when you check out the Paper Players blog, but since we are in late October (wahh, I want October to last forever), you KNOW I made a Halloween card.  But one that's a little less traditional.

I absolutely adore the Have a Hoot bundle (had to get it on a BST group on Facebook since I didn't buy it when SU! first released it) and I hadn't used it for any of the Hex-Travaganza cards this month, so I had to take this opportunity to ink it up.  I thought my wannabe spooky owl would look nice on one of the sky backgrounds from the Everyday Skies DSP Stack which I also used for my Winifred Sanderson card (stock up now, I got an extra pack yesterday because I couldn't resist doing an itsy bitsy free shipping order) and I ended up with a lot of purple on my card.  I stamped "Have a hoot on Halloween" on the inside but forgot to take a picture of it.  This owl is serving my level of spooky here, which is to say only as much as your average Scooby-Doo episode ; )  I don't go for the scary stuff.

Anyway, I hope you'll have as much fun with Joanne's sketch as I did!  Don't forget to check out my teamies' cards too and upload yours at the Paper Players blog.  Cheers!

What an adorable card, Christy! This little "hootie patootie" is definitely giving a "Drac-owl-a" vibe. The Everyday Skies paper makes a perfect backdrop for him. Have a wonderful week!

Christy, I just love this background! The scary sky is the perfect setting for your little owl! He is watching all the trick or treaters! Such a fun card certain to make someone happy! Have a great week, My Friend!

Your little owl is too cute to spook (I don't go for the spooky stuff much either) and the background is PERFECT!

This is a cute one, Christy. I like the look of the owl, trying hard to be a moustachioed Victorian villain by the look of him! :-)

Yay - my favourite Halloween owl from a never-to be-parted-with set! I 'lost' the dies in the clutter of my office for the longest time, but I found them again so calm is once more restored (but I still need a good sort out lol!) He is perfect on his branch against that background spooky sky paper (I'm thinking maybe I should pick up a pack...) A perfect take on this week's sketch!

Christy, I'm with you about wanting October to last forever! My favorite month and it's nearly over! Your card for the sketch is absolutely darling and a wonderful Halloween card at the same time! Love that cute owl and you used the most perfect papers for the background. Super fun!
