A Brace of Bunnies

Mornin' y'all and happy Friday!  At long last, Ryan's tooth came out last night--a full week after all the drama started with it wiggling so much that he couldn't hardly eat.  Pretty sure that kid has more holes than teeth at the moment!

Anyway, with Easter so close I just had to squeeze in a couple more bunny cards, take a look:

I thought of this sweet bunny in Easter Friends as soon as I saw the Just Add Ink challenge:

I inked up the bunny stamp with VersaMark, then Pebbled Path, and stamped it on my cardstock, and then I embossed with clear powder so I could watercolor without it bleeding.  I thought of the Stitched So Sweetly dies as soon as I saw the sketch at Atlantic Hearts:

And all the pretty yellows in the Floral Delight DSP brought my card together quick like a bunny : )  Except for the sentiment part, actually.  I spent over 20 minutes looking through my enormous stamp library for a good sentiment to put on there and finally decided on ribbon instead and put a sentiment from Easter Friends on the inside of the card.  And of course that stamp set was sitting on my table the entire time I was searching all my other stamp sets.

I have a bonus bunny card:

I wanted to see how she would look in Pecan Pie.  What do you think, Pebbled Path or Pecan Pie for this sweet bun-bun?  I like them both.

Anyway, time to get Ryan off to school and hope they don't do an early dismissal because of SNOW.  Yes, snow.  Again!  On the up side, that means I will be drinking lots of tea today and it's hard to have a bad day with a cuppa tea in hand.  Ha!  Cheers, y'all!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Easter Friends
Ink:  Pebbled Path, Pecan Pie, Old Olive (on the inside)
Paper:  Pebbled Path, Pecan Pie, Thick Basic White, Floral Delight DSP

Pocket Dragons

Mornin' y'all!  I continue to be on a crafty winning streak this week : ) And today Ryan has an extracurricular class after school so I get extra crafting time, woo!  And AND I have new stuff to show off today!!

This adorable little dragon is from a soon-to-drop online exclusive stamp set called Inspiration Squad and I Had To Have It because dragon (duh) but also this dragon reminds me of Pocket Dragons, which are little collectible dudes of extremely adorable dragons and I have a few of them.  Pocket Dragons are soft green, but I had to play along with the Color Hues challenge:

I used Fresh Freesia and Pool Party, and I did a mirror image of the TGIF Challenges sketch:

I have been wanting to play with this sketch all week but I have crafty ADHD sometimes.  I was going to use more of the Holographic Gems (also upcoming online exclusives) but then I just really liked the look of one next to the cutie pie dragon.  It looks like a magical gem, right?

But that wasn't the first Pocket Dragon card I made, this is:

I had been staring at the previous Color Hues challenge for ages and I of course as soon as I made this card the challenge ended ; )  My fault, I took too long.

So for this one I used Peach Pie and Summer Splash for the colors.  And I paired that with the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch:

I couldn't resist adding a few Tinsel Gems (those are my favorites, I'd love to have those in more colors, buy them while you can because they're on the last chance list) which might push this my card to the edge of CAS territory but I couldn't help it.

Okay, I dropped Ryan off at school and then did the grocery shopping, so now I'm going to have my much-delayed breakfast and then go spend time with Daph.  Cheers!

Spring Reading

Mornin' y'all!  I had a good time working in my craft room yesterday--made a couple of cards, worked on some scrapbook pages, it was great : )  And here's my card for today:

I used the colors from the Paper Players:

I went with Highland Heather, Lemon Lolly, Coastal Cabana, and Granny Apple Green.  These colors would be absolutely perfect for a spring floral card so I had to be a Mary Mary Quite Contrary and do something totally different : p  I decided on For the Books after seeing the sketch from Hand-Stamped Sentiments:

I used two dies from Nested Essentials for the top two shapes and just stamped my sentiment on the main image panel.  A little bit of coloring and done!  Happily for me, I have some of the old Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and Joanne reminded me that those exist so I dug them out to use for coloring in my stack o' books.  I have been reading quite a lot lately too, and I am currently 17 books ahead of schedule to hit my reading goal on Goodreads.

Anyway, time to chivvy Ryan out the door and off to school, then I need to do a training session with the Daphinator and take her for a walk.  Then I'm gonna finish up those scrapbook pages I started yesterday : ) Cheers, y'all!

SUO Challenges Poppin' Up With Spring Colors

Heyyyy stampy friends!  It's time for a new challenge at SUO Challenges!

And we have a springy color palette for you to play with, check it out:

I perused my current stamp sets (a very short list with everything that went on the last chance list) and of *course* I came back to Terrific Toadstools, I am convinced that they would work with any color combination ever  ; )  So here they are all ready for spring:

I wish I had gotten a better picture of this card but for some reason taking pictures of my projects has been a challenge itself lately.  For the toadstool, I inked up the cap with Lemon Lolly and then used a sponge dauber to add Peach Pie to the top.  The stem is stamped off Pecan Pie and the greeting is full strength Pecan Pie, and then I added a horizontal layer with the smaller toadstools and some leaves stamped in Soft Sea Foam on the same color of cardstock.  I made up the card layout as I went along and I ended up being quite pleased with how it turned out, what do you think?

Now it's your turn!  Have a crafty session with our colors and upload your creation at the SUO Challenges blog, and don't forget to keep it SU Only!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Terrific Toadstools
Ink:  Peach Pie, Lemon Lolly, Soft Sea Foam, Pecan Pie

Trianon

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  We spent the weekend painting the living room and powder room in our house; we still have to paint the front entryway, around the stairs, and all the areas upstairs in the loft and hallway but that has to wait until we get a taller ladder, and we haven't done the accent wall yet, just the lighter blue.  This house is starting to reflect more of our personality and less of the awful greige that was everywhere : )  Still have quite a ways to go before everything gets painted but we're working on it.

Anyway, it's time for scrapbook pages and as I was just watching a video on the royal family of France, I chose this layout from when we visited Trianon, a smaller estate on the grounds of Versailles:

Yes we got rained on.  Trianon was a favorite of Marie Antoinette and is a beautiful little estate.

Today's color palette:  Petal Pink, Cajun Craze, Garden Green, and white.  I'm always surprised when I use Petal Pink on scrapbook pages since it is not one of my favorite colors, but sometimes it just seems to work with photos.

Have a great day, peeps!  The weather cooled off a lot from the weekend so I'm going to go make a cuppa.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Spencerian Alphabet, Pretty Peony
Ink:  Petal Pink, Garden Green, Basic Gray marker

Guest Designer for AAA Cards

Gooood morning stampy friends!  A while back, I won a challenge at AAA Cards so today I get to be a guest designer!  This time the challenge is a sketch, check it out:

You know I love me a good sketch, and this one is great!  Here's what I made:

I just recently acquired the stamp set Flowering Desert, which I had convinced myself not to buy when it first came out for reasons unknown.  My friend Krissy (I keep mentioning her lately, I send her cards on the regular so naturally I think of her a lot while I'm designing!) currently lives in Arizona, so I keep an eye out for desert-themed stamps.  I already had other cactus stamps but I just really wanted this one : ) It was the first thing to pop into my head when I saw the sketch so I went with that.

Hope you'll join in the fun at AAA Cards, I will have to play along with this great sketch again my own self.  Happy stamping!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Flowering Desert
Ink:  Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, Granny Apple Green
Paper:  Thick Basic White
Accessories:  Stylish Shapes dies (used as a mask), Mini Dimensionals

Eat the Cake!

Mornin' y'all!  Well, Ryan did lose a tooth at bedtime last night...but it was NOT the one that's been causing him trouble since Thursday!  He had another tooth that wasn't as loose as the problem one and yet that's the one that came out last night.  Hopefully the other one decides to join its friend on the outside soon.

Anyway, I took like five pictures of this card and four of them turned out very blue so this is the best I could get even with the funky shadows:

Apparently I have bunnies on the brain with Easter coming up : )  I used the sketch from Retro Rubber:

Fluffiest Friends (the bunny stamp) is about a year and a half old, and Yippee-Skippee! is eleven years old and apparently I got it mostly for this sentiment as it's what I've used most.  I did use another stamp from the set on the inside, it says "Carbs, schmarbs.  Eat the cake!"  Which sounds like good advice to me.

I was inspired to break out the pastels from the Lighter than Air DSP Stack thanks to the Inspired By... challenge:

And Shopping Our Stash wants to see an Easter card or a card featuring a rabbit or a chick.  Got my bunny ears on for this one.

I got two scrapbook layouts all done yesterday except for journaling and I can't wait to finish that and start on the next one.  But we got some more paint last night so we're going to be doing some painting downstairs this weekend; we'll see how much crafting time that leaves me.  I am really looking forward to having this house all painted!

Cheers, y'all!
